In the worst time possible, Anna had managed to land Henry in trouble. Even though he had been promoted, no one was ever allowed in the secret cabin. Our irritating warden had seen Henry enter. If only they had been careful enough to look around before entering a restricted area. The guards suddenly entered the room. Thankfully, the love birds weren't holding hands or else they would have risked our whole operation. Anna acted vigilantly. She showed them her power as she walked out of the room with confidence. She had never spoken much in front of the pawns of the institute. She never wanted them to have the privilege of hearing her voice. Today was different however. She had to put her ego aside to make sure no one got the slightest hint about Daisy.
Anna said, "is there a problem? Why am I being escorted out by these fools. This is a restricted area and you all aren't supposed to be here." The warden had always been a jealous woman. She wished she were half as pretty as Anna. She would have done anything to wear her mask and rule the pawns of the institute. As soon as she got the opportunity, she said, "like you said ma'am, this is a restricted area. May we know why a boy of my institute was in there with you, alone?"
Anna was driven mad. She screamed, "well, that is my business now isn't it. May I tell you that this 'boy' you refer to has been promoted a long time ago. He isn't a part of your institute any more, he is my special guest here at our lair. I can do as I please. I am not bound to answer to you."
"You may not be bound to answer to me, but you have to answer to the game master. I will make sure he hears about this. We stand at higher posts than this stupid boy, yet we never got to see what mysteries were held behind that door. If he gets to see them, so do we. Let us in or else- ". Before the warden could finish, Henry had his arm up in the air, asking her to stop.
"Are you threatening the famous lady in black? Have you lost your mind? Do you wish to lose your head? I am sure you know the mistake you are making. I went in there because I really wanted to know more about our plan. I wanted to know what I was doing. When this beautiful woman here saw me enter, she followed me in. She was trying to protect her mission. You should learn to see the complete picture before pointing fingers." Henry had managed to handle the situation. The warden knew she would get in a lot of trouble if she questioned a person with that much power.
The warden hesitantly said, "I am so sorry ma'am. I made a huge mistake questioning your intentions. You are our head and I betrayed you. Please grant me forgiveness. I won't let this reach the game master."
"I am not afraid of the game master. He is a close friend of mine. He knows why I do what I do and he trusts me. About your forgiveness, it is really up to Henry here. He is the one you truly accused. You should be bowing down to him, or else you know what your future holds." Anna had scared the warden off. She bowed down to Henry, even though every cell in her body refused to let her do so. She knew she had to do what was necessary to survive. I almost pitied the warden. She was stuck in the same situation as us. She was no different than Daisy. She must have been a kind soul too before getting involved into this master plan. All this negativity changed her. I wondered if the real woman she was, was still hidden inside her somewhere. I wondered if all of the pawns willingly destroying themselves had any humanity left within them. I wondered if they were just empty shells working for the game master.
All the masked men were escorted away on their duties by Anna. Henry returned to the institution while Anna left for her duties at the beauty station.
When Anna reached her destination, she couldn't find Daisy anywhere. She walked hastily across all the levels until she finally saw her. She was extremely shocked at the vision in front of her. Daisy stood unmasked on the escalator. When Anna finally understood what Daisy had done, her eyes teared up. Thankfully the mask she was wearing hid her pain. She watched Daisy be the ideal woman she was supposed to be. She watched Daisy walk towards her death. She knew there was absolutely nothing she could do to save her. Anything suspicious would directly be reported to the game master. Seeing Daisy do this will put her name in the game master's naughty list. She would die without having helped in any way. All her sacrifice would be for nothing. Anna watched silently as Daisy got down the escalator, floor by floor.
Daisy's key to heaven was closer. She had finally reached the 3rd floor. She had given up everything just to get here. She knew it was going to be really difficult to get back but she had to do this for everyone. She had to do this for herself. She selflessly walked towards the door she was being taken to. She accepted whatever fate God was going to present to her as she let out a smile. On her way, she glanced at Anna. She must have wanted to speak to her so badly, but she maintained her role. She continued to work in her disguise as just another helpless ideal woman. Her door stood before her. The guards were holding her tight, preventing her from running away, unaware of her true intentions. The door was finally open. The truth was out. What Daisy's eyes were looking at was an unbelievable reality. As Daisy stepped inside, she finally said, "I can't believe this. I will never get back. I just killed myself and the rest of these women."
