In spite of everything that had happened, I trusted my love for Daisy to be true. I had a plan. For it to be a success, I had to send Daisy back to the hell she was trying to escape, just until my plan worked.
When she got back, the game master was waiting for her. He was impatient. He spoke through the voice modulator attached to him, "where did she take you? You are quite late. Did everything go well at the institute?"
Daisy had to stay calm. She had to pretend nothing had happened. She had to pretend she was still the soul-less woman he made her. She said, "everything was perfect. The lady in black introduced me to one of our teammates. She said he was the most heart-wrenching soul-sucking demon she had ever come across. He brought along a prey. We teased him and mocked him. We tortured him mentally. It was a good way to let off some steam."
"She did that? I thought she was kind."
Daisy said, "she was silent through the most of it. She kept asking us to stop but we were having too much fun. The stupid boy was crying like a baby. Thank you for allowing me to go out there my love. I had a lot of fun. Let me do this often and trust me, I will always keep you happy. After all, a happy woman is a happy wife."
Daisy was working hard to make sure the game master still trusted her while allowing her to come to the institute regularly. She was executing the plan well, almost too well. If any of us would have been there, we would have believed she had switched sides again. She was too good with the plan.
Our motive was to get as much information as we could about the game master's plan. As Daisy tortured herself one last time as she let him touch her, we moved a step closer to our plan. I felt a lot of regret making Daisy do this. I loathed myself for it. If only there were a faster option, I would have taken it. Daisy was ready to do anything to save her soul. She wanted to save everyone. She volunteered this plan so that we could find the others as soon as possible.
Our plan was to get me inside the beauty station. We planned to get Daisy to convince the game master to let Henry come to the beauty station. It was not going to be easy but it was our only shot. After he would agree, I would go in place of Henry. Daisy assured me that the game master had never seen Henry's face. He only knew him through the pawns at the institute and through Daisy herself. Anna was assigned to keep the pawns busy. It wasn't going to be too difficult for her to do that since the pawns feared her. They knew her power. Daisy on the other hand was assigned a more difficult task. Once I got into the beauty station, she had to open the door that led to the other side. This would finally help reveal the game master's plan. Only Daisy could help me get past all those security guards and various doctors and make up artists. Even if she some how got me out, the even bigger task was to make sure I got back in. If I were to get caught, the back up plan was worse. Daisy had to pretend she was being forced. She had to act like she let me come here because her life was in jeopardy. She had to pretend that she thought it was a good idea for me to test my luck having full confidence in the game master to kill me as soon as I came here. She had to pretend she was still on their side so that she could survive this. Daisy hated the plan. She didn't want me to risk my life. She didn't want to risk any of our lives.
That night, we waited for Daisy for hours. She hadn't shown up to meet us. It was the final meet-up before the execution of the plan.
Henry said, "guys, what if she told on us. I know you trust her Neil but she loved him. Her love for the game master could have made her switch sides. She was in a weak mindset when she came to us, which is probably why she agreed. Tell me one thing. Why would a woman risk her life for us when she gave up her soul to save her life in the first place?"
Even though Henry had a point, his words made me furious. He watched my expression of worry change into one of anger. He continued, "calm down man, I didn't mean to upset you. She probably got held up somewhere. She is going to be here. Let's just wait for her. Have you seen her Anna?"
"Don't look at me", Anna said. "I don't know where she is. I brought her to you guys and your stupid plan probably scared her away. It is your fault she doesn't want to show up. She is probably scared out of her mind thinking of the blood she is going to have on her hands yet again if any of us got caught. No matter what, she is going to show up. I trust her too. She desperately wants her soul back. She values the trust and love we offered her. She won't give it all up again for a monster. She knows her worth now. Have faith in her. She is going to show up!"
I believed Anna. I knew Daisy would never mess this up. She loved the fact that we trusted her. She would never do anything to hurt us again. That was exactly it. Daisy didn't want to risk our lives so she did the one thing we never expected her to do. Since she hated the plan so much, she became it. She decided to risk her own life instead of mine. She had decided that she was going to find her way to the other side. She had decided to find the truth all on her own.
