"That bastard tinkerer didn't tell me to bring a pickaxe along," he whispered to himself in slight annoyance, as he tried to pull the gems out of their encasing using brute force.
After several attempts, he changed tactics and began to beat on the rocks with his fists instead. Despite the layer of scales protecting his knuckles, it still hurt like hell. Fortunately, it seemed to be working.
"Finally," he whistled painfully, once he had gotten the final gem out.
It had taken him almost half an hour of pounding to extract them, and the thought of doing it all again was depressing, to say the least.
"Can't the builder do this?" he realized, before whispering 'billow'.
