He quickly realized that it was probably the crossbow. It likely consumed energy from the user, and he was beginning to suffer the effects of using it so recklessly.
He placed the scythe on his back, opting to use the sealing blade and the crossbow. The scythe was badly damaged, and would no doubt fall apart after a few more uses. And despite the crossbow draining a lot of energy, it was the only long-range weapon he had, so he would just have to use it a little wiser.
After several minutes had passed, there reached a point where the chaos around him died down quite a bit. Both because he was so much ahead of the other crews, and also because a lot of people had already been killed. There was now enough space between the various teams to make it hard for them to attack each other.
