Chapter 25 - The Ark Of My Door!

The purple flame glanced at Phanm and looked at the ground.

"What's up?" asked Phanm.

"That leader armor might be your most powerful thing other than your intellect. That set is woven with Fire threads so that you won't be burned. And I was just thinking if I should stay here and join the Arks or continue being alongside you," said Wald.

"I don't mind either way. As long as you're alive, I don't care where you decide to reside. I understand that being in the Five Kings as a Mage might cause problems, so I don't blame you for being somewhere you belong," answered Phanm.

"Somewhere I belong? You think I belong with the Arks?"

"It would be better since you don't always have to hide your flame wherever you go on a mission with me. Or force yourself not to use your powers to deter more problems."

Wald sighed and smiled as he went towards Phanm and embraced the kid.

"I don't mind hiding my powers, but I do agree I should be with the Arks, only to further practice on my powers. Maybe I can be backup to the Five Kings to help out because I don't think I'll be accepted to the Arks that quickly."

"You're right then. Let's make this mission as fun as possible, and hopefully, you can be at peace with your origins," replied Phanm, getting up.

"Let's go before Ysabeau barges in again."

Meanwhile, Baldwin and Mavislin were still at Old Man Pond's swamp and wanted to leave since their business there was done.

"There; I've done what you've requested me to do, so will you please leave me alone? I don't like hanging out with people who tried to kill me," complained the Poisoned Pond as he opened his front door.

"Wait, so you're going to leave like that? I thought you wanted to settle scores with the Pyromancers?" asked Baldwin, confused.

"That was a long time ago, and I could have done so within finger snap, so I don't bother with them anymore, though I do like their treasures... Plus, I have no interest in working with you. However, I do have one last gift for little Mavislin."

"As an apology for what I did those years ago and what would've been my gift to you if you'd been my disciple," replied Old Man Pond.

"A coffin? A tombstone?" asked Baldwin as Mavislin threw a rock at his head.

"Very funny..."

The Poison Mage placed his palm out and summoned an orb of dense dark green Poison Elemental Energy.

The orb soon morphed into a gold-plated Serpent surrounding a bronze plate while eating its own tail. It took Mavislin a few pauses to determine where this weapon originated.

"This is?! How did you get your hands on such an item when you are so far away from Valokia?!" screeched Mavislin as she saw the Valokian Royal Emblem on the bronze plate.

"This was the only thing I could pull out from the chaos on Akhaten that night. And it wasn't even from my world. Valokia had been ripped apart in the blast, and parts flew everywhere and towards the nearby worlds."

"I can tell that it isn't Akhatenian since this is literally my bedroom door! Each Valokian door in the fortress was bound by spells to defend the beings in the room. Mine in particular was the Cycle..."

Mavislin was still in shock as Old Man Pond smirked.

"Seeing that this would be my first and last time helping you, I think it would be the best solution to give this to you, Empress. I'm sure that you can use this weapon wisely since you are a master of bending rules to fit your predicament."

"Like how you conjured up your version of Black Lotus of the Storm that wasn't the same as the Hibiscus one. I don't know your true power, but..."

"I'm sure you will find a use for this old thing. Now then, if you'd excuse me, I think I've had enough of being good in a day. On my off day..." grumbled Old Man Pond, heading back to his little hut.

"I honestly thought that old thing was from the Congregation's arsenal... But it would seem that was more than a decorative piece," noted the Angry Man, shaking his head at the old thing.

"Of course, it's more than that! It's my bedroom door! I almost don't want to use that since I have anything physical to be with me from Valokia..."

"Please use that thing... The spell embedded within might be unstable if not used soon enough. Now, without the Valkyries controlling the seal, it might just blow up!" shouted Old Man Pond from within the hut.

"Art thou serious?!" yelled the Angry Man, in disbelief.
