The Valkyrie smiled and nodded as she sprouted out her wings, taking flight. Baldwin summoned his Puka and bid a last farewell to the Poisoned Pond. The two Mages made their way back to the Old Chapel.
"There isn't a trace of Corruption Elemental Energy in the area, so Old Man Pond doesn't have a hand in the round of Husks. So that begs the question... Who is?" asked the Angry Man as he rode his horse beside Mavislin.
"I haven't the faintest clue, but whoever it is, we can only assume that they are hiding and waiting out for the Tribe to fall and strike when we are just fresh out of war," answered the Valkyrie, looking around.
"That would be usually the case..."
"Hey, Baldwin. I need to ask you a question about the Corruption Element," started Mavislin as she sounded solemn.
"What's wrong? It's not like you to ask about that Element when you understood it the best," replied the Angry Man, confused.
"I was a sheltered kid... So I didn't have too much practice with the Dark Elements."
"I see... Well, I can only tell you what I know about it from an outsider's point of view. Maybe Gillian might have a better answer, but I'll still try. So, what's on your mind about that horrid Element?"
"Is it possible for a Mage affected by the Corruption Element to be normal? If a Husk has touched them, would they have a chance to retain their sanity and manipulate the Corruption Element?"
The Angry Man stopped dead in his tracks, forcing Mavislin to halt and turn back.
"It depends... If the Mage is as powerful as your Pillars, then they might have a chance of winning. But for anyone below their level, such as the Five Kids. And if they are as powerful as you..."
"Then the result is my brother..."
The Angry Man nodded as he stared at the Valkyrie. He then pulled on the Puka's reigns and got closer to Mavislin.
"Why do you ask that question?"
"Because I'm wondering... After all these years, has anyone found a cure to prevent themselves from being turned into a Husk? Or to retain their sanity after gaining the Corruption Element..."
"Because of how dangerous the Husks are, studying them would be extremely difficult. Not only would it risk us Mages, but it would destroy the human populous. Thus, I don't think there is a definitive cure."
Mavislin looked away, forcing herself not to be upset. Maybe... After all these years, she could finally find a way to fix the mess that her twin had created for the Universe. Baldwin sighed as he gently patted the Valkyrie's soft hair, producing a genuine smile.
"Come on now... I said there isn't a definitive cure, but it doesn't mean there isn't a theoretical one. Let's go ask the Headmaster if he has got some theories so we can brainstorm-"
Before Baldwin could finish his words, explosions started shaking the two beings in the sky, causing them to dive to see what was happening.
"What on God's Green Earth is-"
It was the Valkyrie's turn not to finish her words as she had to dodge a Molotov that was hurled at her head. That's right... The serpents had removed all barriers, so the Tribe was sitting ducks, prone to attacks from all corners.
Everything was ablaze as the two Mages watched a familiar Glitch appear around the area. The Valkyrie grinned and faced away from the scene.
"We'd better head back to the Old Chapel; we'll leave this place to the Prince of the Arks," instructed Mavislin as she tunneled towards the Campania.
The Angry Man agreed and rushed off. When they touched down, Wald and Phanm were ready to head out with the help of Fluffy, the Bahamut of the High Queen.
"Have you both planned your next steps?" questioned Mavislin, keeping her wings.
"Yes; we will infiltrate the Tribe Camp in the Briton Domain and join you in fighting Horizon at the Main Camp. I've worked with Phanm for years, so I won't fail. I promise, even if my life is on the line, I'll-"
The Valkyrie's quick finger hushed the poor purple flame.
"I don't want to hear you finish that sentence. Both of you will be victorious, and if it costs your lives, then I want you to return."
"Raiyen and Tomoe are dealing with the Tribe Camp at Urnsfield as we speak, and I will be picking Circe up to deal with the Campania's Tribe Camp. Then we will meet to face off Horizon while also finding the Last Dragon," commanded Mavislin.
"Yes, Lady Roydon. We will return victorious," chimed the two men.
They then got on top of Fluffy, and the trio flew while Ysabeau waited at the doorway.
