Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 - The frozen land

"She's a demon."

"She a monster I tell you, you just need to look in her eyes."

"She is cursed is better for her to be gone."

"Be careful she will eat you whole"

'As if I ever ate anyone ever' thought Alana walking down her way.

Even though they say all this things about her, they all send her off on the day she had to leave to her dead husband place. They couldn't wait to get rid of her, they were eager, they all cheered as she left the town.

Alana left her uncle manor on foot there's was noone to sent her off to her destination. Her Uncle didn't seem to care, she was no longer his responsibility, his older brother daughter was no longer his problem she was married off to some new noble in a far way town, beyond the mountains, over the frozen lakes a dying Land.

It was unlucky for her that he died so soon after they got married.

As the news of her husband passing came she was sent to take over of her husband possession. Since they didn't marry like normally one would, they married through a contract, they didn't see each other and he left to fight a dragon that appeared somewhere in the sorrounding area of the frozen Lands.

So he didn't get to send anyone to fecht her.

She wasn't carrying much since in her uncle manor nothing there belonged to her, even her clothes were made by the only maid that cared for her since she was young. She was the only one who cried for her when she left.

"My lady you should take this and this ." Said Luria the Maid handing food to Alana, while her face was swollen from crying.

"Luria, I already told you, don't call me lady, there is no use and as for this food... I will not be able to eat that much, it will only go bad, on the way there." Said Alana sighting.

"But my lad ..." Luria stopped herself. " Miss you have to bring something with you, the journey is long and rough, and I can't believe the Lord will not let you take a wagon with you." Alana knew that her Uncle didn't care one bit if she was dead or alive even marrying her was a surprise to everyone, 'what did he gain from it?' She wondered.

"It doesn't matter, at least I will leave this place, I wish I could take you with me. It will be enough if I can take 2 or 3 potatoes, and some seeds that I saved up since."

Alana was very intelligent she didn't care what the others though of her she was always reading books available to her, and she filled her mind with knowledge of farming and growing plants.

As far as she knew she had a great afinity with nature, so surviving was not an issue for her.

As she walked down her way to the recent dead husband place, she would collect everything she found interesting, maybe she could have some use for it.

Eating some herbs along the way may not be as delicious as some bread and meat but it would help her get some strength to keep going.
