Chereads / A DEAL BETWEEN ALPHAS / Chapter 8 - CHAPTER EIGHT

Chapter 8 - CHAPTER EIGHT

For the first time, Emily felt scared. She knew that look in his eyes. It was the same look she got whenever they crossed paths in school. Then it didn't really matter to her. But now, the fate of her and her pack depended on him accepting this deal.

Emily was good at making deals. Her father called her "the wolf chess board" just like the human game. She was as strategic and smart as the chess board. She knew how to get what she wanted. When her father had business with the humans, she will always finalize the deal and make sure they get enough profit to fund their pack. the pack knew she was a genius. She was the star of their pack but they didn't want her to lead mainly because they feel she is weak because she is a girl. But this time, Emily knew that this was her only chance. If it goes wrong, she might as well just marry some stupid wolf and cover her face with shame.

"Emily," Tyler called her name.

"Tyler," she responded, looking him straight in the eyes. Emily is not one to show weakness. She always follows what her father says: "eye contact is the basic skill to wining."

"You have quite some nerve to sneak into my bed chambers. Do you have an idea what can happen to you?" he said with a bit of anger in his voice.

Emily removed her cloak and sat at the table close to his bed. She plucked out a grape from the stem and put it in her mouth.

"You have 60 seconds to tell me why you are here." Tyler said.

Emily took a deep breath, "I am here to make you a deal." Emily said.

"And what makes you think that I will make a deal with you?" he asked her.

"Because I am what you are looking for." She spoke. "You need someone stronger than you because you are weak. I can teach you how to be stronger."

Tyler thought about it and what she said was actually true. She was strong. One of the strongest she-wolves he has ever seen. Her pack was known as the strongest mainly because their ability to control their transformation. Unlike every other pack that have to change during the full moon, they can choose when to transform. He knows she can fix his problem without and false. But what is the grantee that she can be trusted. Emily is the kind that stabs people in the back.

"Is that not why you want find a mate? Because you want the whispers to stop?" she asked him.

"And what do you gain from all this?" Tyler asked her. The Emily he knows never makes a deal without something in return.

"As you know, I am the only child of my father, the alpha of Crescent moon pack. and because I am a female. I can't take over when my father is gone." She says and takes a bit of an apple she picks up from the tray.

"What does that have to do with me?"

"Well, in one of our old book laws, I can ascend the throne if the man I marry hands over the throne to me."

"What are you saying?" Tyler said. Emily could see that he was running out of patience. She put down the half-eaten and dusts her hands.

"Simple, I will train you and each you how to be stronger and in return you will mate with me and hand over the leadership of my pack to me."

Tyler laughed at her face. part of her told her that something like this will happen. He wasn't the first though. Other alphas she approached did the same thing to her but this time she will get what she wants from him. He is her best option.

"And what made you think that I would agree to such deal?" he asked her.

"Because deep down you know I am the only one who can help you." She told him with a smile on her face.

Yes, Tyler knew that. It did cross his mind to call for her but he discarded the thought. the thought of her becoming his mate nauseated him to the core.

"Well, I am sorry love, but I decline your deal." Tyler said.

Emily gave a small smile. She knew he would say that. "I would be back in a fortnight. Please think properly before you speak." She said and put on her cloak. "Till we meet again." She said and the lights off went off.

Tyler looked around in the darkness. He became alert thinking that maybe this was a strategy. He moved to the table where she was at the course looking for her, hit the table down.

The light came up and so were his men. He looked around; Emily was gone. He wondered how she could be so fast. Oliver ran into his room with some of his guards.

"Alpha are you okay?" Oliver asked.

Tyler was irresponsive. His mind went to Emily. How did she know that he was weak? How did the news get to her? She can't possibly think him weak because of their duel from high school. That was years ago and how did she manage to bridge his security? Was she really that strong? A lot of question were running through Tyler's head. He didn't know if this her deal was genuine or not.

"Alpha, is something wrong?" Oliver touched him and asked waking Tyler from his thoughts.

Tyler looked around the room. He saw the falling table and the tray of fruits that had fallen.

"I am fine." He answered. "Get someone to clean this up." He said and left the room.

"Yes, Alpha."

Emily went straight to the wood when she left the Moon castle. Amelia was there waiting for her. Amelia sensed her coming and she relieved.

"Thank the moon goddess you are back safe. How did it go?" Amelia asked.

Emily didn't know what to say. She didn't know if she should lie and tell her that he agreed or she should tell her to have hope, that he will come to his senses and accept the proposal. Honestly, she had doubts herself if he would agree. That is why she gave him two weeks to think it over. But a part of her told her to have hope. Tyler might be weak but he is very smart. She knew he would make the right decision.

"Let's head back. Father might be looking for me." Emily told her.
