Chapter 22 - Another behind

Cyron approached Zion with Rivar by his side and Rivar tapped Zion on his shoulder, as he was only paying attention to the door, while the others were talking.

Zion looked at Rivar and saw that he was injured and Rivar smiled nervously as he looked at him and Cyron chuckled.

The team members that were mixed up, returned to their own side and their leaders.

Zion scoffed when he saw that, since he knew not many of them wanted to work together and couldn't work together for too long.

"What are you thinking about?" Rivar asked.

"Get your hands looked after Rivar, you do not want to go into the next one with blood on you, it's a bad idea, especially in a dungeon, do you want to get killed huh?" He asked and Rivar flinched then lowered his head.

"No," He responded and Zion scoffed then Cyron laughed and Rivar glanced at him.

"He is right, go and get yourself to one of the healers, if there is a beast beyond here and it's one that can sense blood from afar, you can become dead meat," Cyron said and Rivar nodded.

The boy left the two and went to one of the healers to take a look at him and he began getting his treatment, as did any of the others who were injured, since they heard what Cyron and Zion said.

"So, what do you think about the dungeon so far?" Cyron asked.

"Not normal, so far, also, as for the challenge, I am ahead of you," Zion responded and Cyron smiled at him.

"Yeah, so it would seem, you are someone who thinks while doing things, always figuring out your next move, which is partially how you are getting through this dungeon without being afraid of anything, am I right?" Cyron asked and Zion chuckled.

"Partially, you are not on the spot as yet, I want something bigger, which is why I am able to focus so much, a powerful goal can drive one really far, can't it?" He asked and Cyron's eyes narrowed as he stared at him.

"Yeah, it ca, I have seen it first hand, after all,  working for royalty can make you see things normal people can't," He responded and Zion glanced at him then nodded.

"Yeah, I know that, a lot of royals are nothing but a bunch of scum in the first place, obviously you will see it," He said.

Cyron left staring at him, seeing that he didn't care about how he spoke about them, even though they were in a position of power and could do anything to him if they heard and felt offended.

"Then, shall we open the door?" Zion asked and Cyron's brows furrowed.

"Yeah, we have to get this over with," Cyron responded as he placed his hand against the door and looked at the carved in part and his eyes traced a line on the wall, as did Zion's.

"There is a way to open it, just force won't work," Zion said.

"How do we open it?" Rivar asked as he and Goran approached them.

"By connecting the broken-off pieces from the thing that's carved into the door, right?" Cyron asked.

"Yeah, that's exactly it," Zion responded.

Each of them went to a crystal-looking like object at the two walls and one was directly in the center of the room, on the ceiling and Zion looked up at it.

"Whatever or whoever did this, must have lacked sense when they did it," Zion mumbled with a blank expression in his eyes and the others laughed when they heard what he said.

"Cyron, we each have to connect a little bit of our energy then direct them to the shards, you can even use a weapon," Zion said and Cyron nodded.

Each of them focused a little bit of their energy on their weapons and Zion looked at the one above him and he sighed then threw his sword up, striking the shard, causing part of it to break and it began glowing.

The others did what Zion said and their shards began glowing as well, directing the glow to the carved part of the door and the others looked at it.

"What's happening?" Goran asked and Cyron glanced at him.

"This is the only way to open the door, any other way won't work," He responded and Goran sighed then nodded, since he understood and the door began shimmering slightly.

"It will open, you guys prepare yourself, we don't know what will happen next," Cyron said and Zion nodded.

The door began opening up and Zion looked at it and at the same time, he heard a growl from it and his brows furrowed as he sniffed the air which smelled fresh and his brows furrowed.

Zion approached the door and Cyron glanced at him and he looked at what was behind the door and saw it was a room, filled with different pillars and there were a few things lying around on the ground.

"There is a magic door after this, look ahead," Zion said as he entered the room, Cyron looked at what Zion was talking about as did the others.

"Why is there another door and that too one which is imbued with magic?" Goran asked and Zion's eyes narrowed as he lowered his head, sensing the energy that was flowing around them at the time.

"This is weird..." Zion mumbled and Cyron's brows furrowed as he looked ahead of them.

"Shall we go on?" Zion asked and Cyron nodded and they all moved forward then the door behind them closed once again and a few of them flinched as they looked back.

"Damn it..." Zion said as his brows furrowed and he looked at the pillars then a marking on the ground in the center of the room began glowing and they heard a roar and they looked at each other.

"Looks like I was right, there is going to be a boss only then we will be able to get to remove the door imbued with magic," Zion said and the ground door opened up.

A large beast appeared before them and Zion's eyes glowed slightly and the others left staring at it, for now, this was their final threat in their way to get to what they came for.
