Jake practiced the entire day, taking a few breaks in between. As his helmet is a regular one, he had to exit Yaros, every few hours to relieve himself or to eat when hungry or just to stretch his body.
Even if you are using a premium helmet, it is advised to stretch your body once in a while. If the body remains too long in the same position, it will become stiff and also not considered a healthy habit.
Firstly he trained using a bow and arrows. Next, he tried the short sword. These two are the best weapons for him as a Huntsman.
Though one might think that there would one hundred percent transfer of abilities while using the device, it is not true.
Yaros is not Tarro. The gravity is different. The atmosphere is different. Yes, there would be similarities but also differences.
The major dividing factor is the Magical Energy.
Tarro has been soaked with this energy for less than a century while Yaros has been in this state for who knows how long.
Everything changes when one enters Yaros and when one returns to Tarro.
The memory might have been transferred to Yaros with knowledge of how to use weapons and such but there is the absence of the muscle memory. They would lose the instinctive reflexes they gained during their training back on Tarro.
Though this may be, it would not be a hurdle as it used to be back when this debacle started.
The first awakeners didn't have proper maps or information on how to use their abilities well. They don't know the strengths and weaknesses of various creatures of the new world.
The lack of information and later wars with local kingdoms severely hampered the growth of Tarro's power. Now it is not the case.
With New Bastion as the base, the surroundings are mostly mapped out. The dungeons in the vicinity could be properly used to increase one's level.
Jake continued with the routine of training for the first three days. He just didn't want to adjust his body but also wanted to use the dungeons freely.
Once a year all the new awakeners would overcrowd the low-level dungeons near and around New Bastion. There are creatures to hunt around the city but unlike dungeons, they don't re-spawn. Once they are dead then they are gone, unless a necromancer raises them as undead or angels use resurrection spells on them.
Jake didn't spend all the time training. When one returns back to Tarro, their mind would be a bit muddled. It would take some time to get used to that feeling. This is also a vulnerable time for mind attacks.
When the mind is connected to a helmet, there is a chance of physical attacks on the body but the mind would be perfectly safe. The moment when one returns is when one should be protected as both mind and body are vulnerable.
Mind attacks are invisible ones. When in a muddled state, they won't even register that they are under attack much less defend against them.
These are usually done by information specialists, who usually collect data about almost everything and sell it to others for profit.
As these attacks are invisible and they don't need to be near the target, they can probe the target's mind easily without getting caught.
Now no one attacks others in the cities unless they are stupid. Everything gets recorded and it could be used as evidence.
No the crimes became sophisticated.
The information specialists are hired to collect data about the targets. The data would contain their routines, likes and dislikes, even the abilities they possess. Based on these data, they would make sure their target doesn't escape and they could go scot-free.
Jake already learned about this from his parent's memories in the Memory Book. So he wanted to get rid of the muddled state as soon as possible.
It is the reason why he trained for an hour before exiting, relaxing a bit before entering again. He maintained this routine for the past three days and it paid off a little.
The time his mind remained muddled has significantly reduced. It is a good thing as this builds up a better defense against mind probing in the future.
He essentially did this to prepare for the future.
As it became a known fact, every house now is warded with formations against intruders. They stop both physical and mental attacks. The level of these formations determines the attacks it could stop.
Jake's parents warded their house with mid-grade protection formations. Unless the attackers want to alert the authorities and be hunted down, they can't use high-level spells. As they like to be low-key, unless they are prepared for it, they don't use high-level spells inside the borders.
Jake knew about the protections that his house has. If not he couldn't have lived safely without adult supervision.
He wanted to make sure he was protected when he went out in Tarro. Once he starts to level in Tarro, he has to leave the city borders and hunt outside the human habitat.
Anything can happen once one leaves the cities. So he wanted to be prepared for that. Skills or spells can't be used as he hasn't reached the required level but he could still increase his attributes the normal way.
The helmet provides the best way to train one's mind, which most people neglect. While possessing a good mind defense beforehand, he can further protect his mind using skills or spells.
He did everything he could for the three days. The crowd surrounding the initial dungeons started to decrease by then, giving him ample time and space to use them. Jake decided to level up strarting from the next morning.
He has only three days to increase his levels as he wanted to take a rest on the day before exams.
With everything set, he exited the survival world for the day, in order to rest his mind for the night. He would start leveling up from the morning and needed to be in his peak to do so.
