Chereads / Hunter of Artemis / Chapter 12 - The gains of the blessing (Revised!)

Chapter 12 - The gains of the blessing (Revised!)

Jake took more than three hours to complete the missions. By the end of it, he has collected ten rage chicken meat and fifty rage roots along with some miscellaneous chicken parts, which are to be sold for money. He has no idea what exactly they are useful for, but he knows that these parts are used in alchemy and rituals.

He didn't care about those details, as it wasn't much useful for him. For him, they are a way to gain coins and so after returning to New Bastion, it is the first thing he did. He found a wholesaler and sold all items except the ones required for the mission hall.

He got a total of thirty coppers for them, which is not much as these items are considered common grade, and not many use them.

The currency in Yaros is simple. There are four types of coins in circulation. The least valued to highest valued is as follows; First copper coin, then silver coin, gold coin, and finally platinum coin.

1 Platinum Coin = 1000 Gold Coins

1 Gold Coin = 100 Silver Coins

1 Silver Coin = 100 Copper Coins

This is their value.

The governments of Tarro implemented a world currency along the same lines but there is but one currency, Tarros, after the name of the world itself. There used to be a number of currencies in circulation before the heavenly voice spoke but it changed.

The change didn't come in a day or two. It took years for this to happen.

Each of the surviving countries wanted to make a currency that represents them, but finally decided on Tarros, since it is a name that is neutral to all countries. It represented the world itself and so a new currency came into existence.

Jake entered the mission hall after that and handed ten rage chickens and ten rage roots which are the required number for the mission completion. He got two silver for completing the missions and also two merit points.

An F-rank mission wouldn't gain any merits but each E-rank would give the adventurer one merit point upon completion. Merit points aren't useful like currency but could help enter certain restricted areas if you have the required merit.

As Jake did two E-rank missions, he got two merit points. After handling the missions, Jake decided to log out as it had crossed three hours time.

---

Once exiting the device, Jake lay down on the bed with a happy face.

The first day he decided to actually hunt, he completed two missions and got a total of two silver and thirty coppers. In addition, he also got two merit points.

Statistically speaking, he is lower than what others gained in the past three days. Unlike him, most were grinding continuously.

The reason for his smile was because of what happened during the hunt.

Hunt Flashback...

"I got one easily but the other nine wouldn't be easy to find or hunt them down. The roots mission is all sorted out", Jake mumbled to himself while calculating how to proceed but was interrupted by notification.

Jake was surprised to see that. He wanted to check if it was true or not and it was true. His speed increased by one point.

Jake smiled to himself and resumed his hunt.

By the time he hunted the other nine chickens, he got various notifications about his rewards.

...

...

...

...

He was over the moon when he heard those notifications. He wanted to check the details but calmed himself down. He was still in monster territory. He got lucky that nothing attacked him when he was distracted previously but he should only check those when he was in a safe zone.

So he immediately left the region for New Bastion.

Hunt Flashback ends...

---

Jake immediately checked his status to see the gains he got.

He in total got nine attribute points and a skill. Five of them are speed and two of strength and stamina.

He even leveled up, gaining an attribute increase for all stats.

Jake even got a new skill. With the help of Blessing, he don't need to worry about buying skills as he can get them by hunting. This is an advantage because he can save the coins required to buy the skills and use them to buy more potions and items that can save his life.

Though skills are the best way to survive, they are also the costliest. This way he could diversify in protection ways as there are ways to tamper with one of these ways.

It is why Jake was happy.

The only issue with this skill was that the skill should not be activated in a area with hurdles as the user could crash into these hurdles. He can only use this in plain areas, not cities or not even in forsts with a lot of trees.

It won't be a problem. When he gets a better skill, he can abandon this skill. It would be in his status panel but he can ignore that.

Seeing his status panel, Jake was more than satisfied. All he has to do is hunt and he could gain various skills or increase in attributes much more than others.

Very soon, awakeners even a few levels higher than him would be weaker than him.

He is pretty much satisfied with the blessing. This would be a tremendous help for him in the near future when he plans to avenge his parents' deaths.

He rested for a while before diving back in.
