Chapter 34 - Chapter 34: Little rat

As Anna was busy cleaning the surface of the furniture's in the living room, she heard a voice speak behind her.

"I need a cup of tea."

Her eyes flickered with surprise when she saw it was Alex. Her naive looking face pulled upward into a frown.

Anna felt her lips curled with annoyance that Alex was still bringing what happened on their last meet.

"Okay." She plastered a smile on her face. As she turned around to leave, Alex pulled her to look at her.

"The tea needs to be hot but it should not be hot enough to burn my tongue. Make sure to add enough milk and sugar should be much but I do not want it—"

"I apologize if it was about what happened the other time. I promise it would not happen again." She only hope this woman would not push her to the point when she would lose her anger. Why was she demanding for so much in just a cup of tea?

"You don't need to apologize for anything." Alex frowned. "Where is Marcos?"

"He is in his room. Should I call him?" Anna asked.

"Yes." Alex asked, taking a seat. "And for the tea. Make sure to add enough tea leaves but I do not want the tea to look so brown."

Anna was tired of her blabbering. "Miss Alex, we are grown adults, not children. Just because of what happened our last meet, does not mean you will suffer me during my work. I will not take it, you are not the Madam of this house."

Why would Alex hold onto the grudge of something that she had even forgotten?

She bowed her head to her. "I will go get the tea now."

As she was about to walk, Alex pushed her so hard, making her to land on the chair. "Not so fast, little rat."

"Do you think because I let you get away from the last one you would then have the rights to talk to me as you please?" Her nose flared with anger. "Watch your tongue because there might not be a next time for you."

Anna's lips twitched. This woman really loves to stir up trouble. She wondered why Marcos make friends with someone like her.

"What seems to be the trouble here?" Anna turned around to see Lucian with a small smile.

She bowed her head again. "I will go make the tea I was taught to make for this family. If you think the tea would not reach your requirements, you should go and make one for yourself." Without thinking twice, she walked away.

"This little rat!" Alex seethed. "Where did Marcos get her from? Who hired her?"

"She was hired by the former butler. I heard everything you both said, you were wrong." Lucian said, taking a seat close to her.

"So what did you came here for?" Lucian asked.

"I received a letter from Marcos to come here immediately." She said.

Lucian shifted to her side and slowly placed a kiss on her neck.

"What do you think you are trying to do?" Alex asked as he kissed her.

"It has really been a long time since we met. It's cold, don't you think we should warm—" Before he could finish the sentence, she tackled his hand against the chair and her long fangs elongated out.

"Dare me and I will not think twice to rip your heart." She said, before sitting comfortably when she saw Marcos walking towards her.

"I'm leaving." Lucian stood up and walked away.

"I was lucky to have taken the last boat here. It was really a long journey and I thought of staying a few days before leaving." She smiled at Marcos.

"So what is the matter?" She asked.

"We should go to the garden." Marcos stood up from the sofa and headed outside the house. They sat down in the garden which was quiet with no maids around.

"A demon was invited into the house today." He spoke.

"No way!" Alex looked at him with shocked. "The gates were closed by you and I with the blood of a powerful witch. Or could it be demon who had stayed in this land for some—"

"No." Marcos shook his head. "I know every demon who lives in this land. This demon must have escaped from hell."

"Do you think the gates were opened for him to pass through?" Alex asked.

"Then who opened the gates?" Marcos turned to her.

"Who knows?" Alex asked. "We haven't been there for some time now."

"I probably think Lucian must have done something for the gates to open." Marcos said.

"Lucian would do anything to get out of that place." Alex laughed slightly. "So did the demon say anything to you?"

"I didn't get to see it. Anna was the one who saw it. It came as a bird." His voice died down when he saw Anna approaching them.

He stood up. "Enjoy your stay here in the Mansion."

Anna handed the tea to Alex and when she took a sip from it, not liking how it tasted, she poured it on her body.

Anna jerked with shock when the tea landed on her. Her whole body started to tremble and she felt a burning pain on her chest where the tea poured on.

"Next time, pay attention to what you have been told to do. Now leave." Alex gave her the cup and she slowly walked back to the kitchen with tearful eyes.
