When they stepped out of the carriage, Anna raised her head to see tall trees that covered the whole place. With a black umbrella in Marcos hand, they walked into the woods. This place made her to remember when she sneakily follows Lady Gaga to hunt for animals. Lady Gaga was against the idea of Anna going to hunt with her as she feels it wouldn't be safe for someone like her so she would sneakily follow her to hunt.
The ground was muddy due to the rain that fell few hours ago. Passing through the tall trees, deep in the woods to finally reach the cemetery.
Marcos closed the umbrella and held it on his left hand. Anna raised her head to see an old church sitting at the centre of the woods. Looking at the walls of the church which had become old and cracked, she wondered why someone would think of building a church here. Near the cemetery?
She looked around to find where the party was going on. The place was deadly quiet except for the noise of cricket.
"Where is this place?" She asked Marcos.
Just then, she heard the sound of footsteps and turned around to see Lucian and his date walking towards them.
"This place used to be a hideout for some special people." He smiled as he said the words to her.
The woman standing near Lucian bowed her head slightly with a small smile.
"I am Hawke, you must be?" Her voice was calm and gentle.
Anna quickly bowed her head. "Anna."
Lucian smiled, pulling his date close to him and they walked inside the church.
Anna followed Marcos inside the church to find so many people drinking and dancing. All the people in the church were dressed in black and she looked odd In her white gown.
She bit her lips and looked down to avoid meeting anyone's eyes. There were lanterns places at the side of the church but it wasn't enough to drive the darkness in the church.
Walking further with Marcos hands wrapped around hers tightly, she saw Hawke dancing with Lucian. The woman appeared to be from a wealthy family. She has a gentle appearance unlike the rest in here who looked at her like as if she was a piece of trash.
"Care for a glass, Sir?" One of the waiters serving drinks approached Marcos.
He nodded his head and took a glass of the drink. Anna squinted her eyes to look at the drink to see that it was a red wine which looked like blood at the same time.
Before she could ask Marcos what was in the cup, she heard a voice from behind.
"You brought a sheep in the midst of werewolves." Anna turned around to see a man standing behind her. He was dressed in a long black coat and black hat.
His daunting eyes stared at her from head to toe before licking his lips.
"Who is she?" The man asked Marcos.
"I am Anna." She introduced herself, not liking how the man was looking at her.
Alex who was seated with Charlotte at the other side of the church, shrank back a bit when she saw Marcos and Anna enter the church. She already knew the presence of Anna would only make her relationship with Marcos distanced.
She had stood by Marcos side for ages, helping him fight the bad men but this was how he treated her. Like her feelings never mattered to him. She had once declared her feelings for him when she was drunk and he ended up discarding her that day. That was the last time she saw him. She remembered crying after he left her that night, only for him to come back with a woman. He only used her to get information from her of if there was a problem.
But even though she was abandoned by Marcos, she knew she won't be abandoned by Charlotte. Her connection with her ran deep. She had helped her keep her dark secret and in return Charlotte supported her of her love with Marcos.
"Madam Charlotte." She beckoned to the woman who was sipping the blood from the glass slowly.
"Yes, Alex?" Charlotte turned to look at her.
"What do you think of Anna's relationship with your step-son, Marcos?" Alex asked.
Charlotte smiled. "Just a Master and maiden relationship, why do you ask?"
"Can't you see what's going on?" Alex pointed towards Marcos and Anna. "He is very interested in her. No.... He is deeply in love with her."
The word triggered a bomb to blast off in Charlotte's head. She looked at the direction Alex was pointing and her eyes widened with disbelief. All the warnings she had given to this girl fell on deaf ears. Her hands tightly clenched the glass cup and it broke, pouring the blood all over her dress and the ground.
Alex smiled widely when she saw Charlotte's reaction.
"Go on and ship that little rat away from your step-son." Alex nudged her head forward.
She knew Charlotte would not dare to go against her or she would open up her secret which had kept for fifteen years. She still remembered that day and if Charlotte go against her she wouldn't hesitate to spill everything.
She watched the woman stand up from her seat and walked towards them.
