Leslie ate the meal happily, 'mmm delicious' she thought closing her eyes in delight. She wasn't too much of a eater but all the running and fainting made her famished.
Adrian on the other hand was still engrossed in the newspaper in his hands, Leslie snuck a glance at him wondering what was soo interesting in that piece of paper and why he was even reading it in the first place, last she checked this was the 21st century didn't he have a phone.
"Uhhhh you're not going to take breakfast" Leslie said slowly while trying not to look awkward chewing the food in her mouth, Adrian looked up from his newspaper giving her a glance, "I ate earlier the food on the table is yours" he said going back to the newspaper he was reading.
Leslie raised an eye brow, it was quite obvious he was lying, the amount of dishes on the table was prepared exactly for two people and they even set a dish and a spoon right in front of him, if what he said was true they would have set the dish and spoon for all twenty sits but then again it didn't really bother her, as long as she got to eat, about to take a spoon the thought of the food being poisoned crossed her mind making her pause.
Adrian fought the urge to laugh out when he accidentally listened to her thoughts on the food being poisoned, why would he kill her after saving her in the first place, that's pretty much a waste.
Finally she got his attention, dropping the news paper he watched with interest as she slowly pick the food with her spoon, closing her eyes as if to say a prayer and putting it into her mouth. "I assure you that the food isn't poisoned, if I wanted to kill you I would have left you in the hands of those demons" Adrian said enjoying the little show
Leslie glanced at him with a slight look of guilt like she was caught doing something bad, but how could he guess that she thought the food was poisoned 'ohhh right an angel' she thought rolling her eyes slightly, she wondered if angels didn't know the word privacy. Setting down the spoon and drinking some water she took a napkin to wipe her mouth
"thank you for the food sir" she said slightly bowing her head, "its Adrian" he said staring at her, turning to him with confusion written all over her face, "Call me by my name" he said looking at her with eyes that said if you don't I might end up killing you.
Leslie gulped a shiver ran down her spine "y...yes sir...I mean Adrian" she stuttered. A slight smirk formed on his lips as he sat back, he really did love messing with the lady. Leslie stared at him anger boiling inside, this time it was her anger, he just messed with her,
"since you're done with your meal follow me to my study, I'll answer whatever question you have" Adrian said getting up, Leslie got up to follow him, walking closely behind him.
They arrived at his study, opening the door they walked in, the room was dark, Making Leslie walk blindly after taking a few steps she stopped to avoid bumping into anything. Adrian clapped twice and the lights came on, finally gaining her sight she looked around the study, 'impressive, what a big book shelf' she thought, there was a couch long enough to fit three people at one end of the room and like his room the walls were painted dark blue and black.
"Take a sit leslie" Adrian said pointing towards the couch, looking towards the direction he was pointing Leslie wondered if it was necessary to sit there when she could just sit on the chair directly in front his desk, but then he's the owner of the house who's she to question his choices. Walking to the couch she sat down. "make yourself comfortable" Adrain said getting up from his sit behind the desk, he walked over picking up the chair in front of the desk and setting it right in front of her,
"Now you can ask your questions"
Leslie glanced at him then at the floor, rubbing her hands together she was nervous enough to not want to anger him "this may sound rude, but what are you?" Leslie asked stealing a glance at him.
Adrian stared at her, he still wondered why she was scared of him, did he really look like someone who could kill in a blink of an eye, well he could but he won't kill her, "You don't have to be nervous, I don't harm people for no reason and I definitely won't harm you" he said making Leslie stare into his eyes, she nodded slowly 'I hope you keep your words sir' she thought.
"I'm a former angel" he gave a plain reply, 'a former angel?' "I don't understand" Leslie said, didn't Uriel call him a fallen. "I am a fallen angel" Adrian replied, Nodding Leslie made an ohhh sound, "so ummm how did you find me back there?" Leslie asked, she felt asking him why he became a fallen would be sensitive and she didn't want to pry too much,
"Like I said I followed you" Adrian replied resting his back on the chair, "yeah but how, though I'm not soo sure but the place I found myself didn't seem like a part of the city, it was more like an illusion" Leslie said trying to recall what the place looked like.
