Chapter 10 - Chapter 10 – Jan Hol

Third person POV

Then, someone tapped on Lloyd's shoulder and asked, "Excuse me, are you a newcomer here?" Lloyd and his men then got startled by it, and they turned around, only to see a man with light brown hair and cobalt eyes. And that person is Jan Hol, Lloyd's former horse carriage driver, who was visiting the town to shop for high-quality food.

"Oh, sorry, did I startle you?" Jan asked with an apology.

Recognizing his face, Lloyd lifted his hood in order to see. "Jan-san?"

Recognizing Lloyd's face, Jan was surprised with his eyes big for a few seconds.

"Woah, it is you!" he responded with a happy reunion.

But Lloyd shushed him, wanting to keep their unexpected meeting.

"Oh, right, sorry," Jan whispered upon realizing, "you got exiled, and you're not allowed to return, right?"

"Yeah, and I'm here to trade stuff," Lloyd replied back.

"What?"

There Lloyd introduced Jan to Sati and Xerxes, who then introduced themselves to him. Once that was done, Jan commented, "Man, I thought you were dead."

"Yeah, I was," Lloyd responded.

"Woah, what?" Jan replied.

And then, Sati stepped in. "I killed him."

Upon hearing that, Jan looked at him and saw his blood red eyes.

"Are you a...?" he asked while being surprised.

"Yes, I am an Undead animal, human," Sati admitted while closing his eyes for a few seconds, before crossing his arms. "Lion, to be exact."

Before Jan would react in any way, Lloyd reassured him, "Don't worry, he's no longer violent and hunting humans anymore."

"Same goes for me," Xerxes responded. "I am an Undead wolf, too."

Luckily Jan didn't react with shock and was amazed by their new, nonviolent attitude. "That's amazing."

He then glanced at Lloyd. "Did you just tamed them or something?"

"Well, sort of, but not really," Lloyd replied back with contradiction. "They felt sorry for me and stopped hunting humans for food."

"Oh," Jan responded in getting what Lloyd had said.

"And plus, I'm not Nate Wole anymore."

"Huh? Really?"

"His name is now Lloyd Lewole," Sati responded.

"Oh, so you changed your name?"

"Yes," Lloyd replied back, "can you keep this and our meeting a secret?"

"With my life and dignity, yes!" Jan readily answered back.

At this point, Xerxes commented, "Wow, he was willing."

"Yeah, he is, as always," Lloyd responded. "He used to take me on short trips without my father's knowledge so he would try to cheer me up. And that's how I know about this town in the first place."

"Oh..."

After that, Jan asked them brightly, "So you're saying you're all here to trade stuff on your backs, right?"

"Yes, for new things we never seen before," Xerxes replied.

"Well, you had come to the right place," responded the driver back. "Come with me. I know just the right place to trade these."

And so, they all went to the town's big marketplace. But there's something that Lloyd didn't expect to have, and only Jan knows what it is. That thing contains essentials for the growth and development of Lloyd's new home.
