Third person POV
The next morning, at 5, Jan woke up and left the country in his horse carriage to travel back to Baleville so he could finally shop for food for his master's household. He did leave a paper, handwritten note for Lloyd, and the night before, Lloyd gave him a small sack of locally made whole wheat bread for as a gift for Gretchel. That note is both a thank-you note and a short letter of appreciation.
30 minutes later, Lloyd woke up and went to Jan's bed, only to see that note. He then read its contents. It says, "Thanks for everything. I liked it. I wished I could quit and be your driver again. I'll give this to Lady Gretchel. - Jan"
Lloyd was positive of being appreciated, before shoving that note into his cloak pocket and went on to his morning tasks and duties as a leader.
Meanwhile, later, at 10 in the morning, at Ole, in front of the palatial house, Jan arrived from Baleville, which was 2 hours away from Ole, and he get off as the house servants unload the cargo. He then went inside carrying that small sack from Wooda.
"Master Tyle wasn't here," he thought while standing in the middle of the living room, "so as Master Hertzel. This is perfect."
He then called Gretchel's name, and she, in her red dress came downstairs asking, "Oh, you're here, Jan-kun, what is it?"
Jan then persuaded her to come downstairs and replied, "Come, I had something for you. Come with me to the storage shed."
Gretchel did so, and both of them went outside to the storage shed nearby.
There, once Jan closed the door, Gretchel asked, "Uh, why here?"
Jan then showed her the small sack of bread from Wooda. "This is for you."
Receiving it, Gretchel asked, "What is this?"
Smiling at her, Jan replied, "Open it."
Gretchel then opened it and shoved her one hand in it, getting a piece of bread.
"Bread?" she commented.
"It's from Nate-kun," Jan responded.
Hearing Nate's name, Gretchel looked at him with a surprised look on her face.
"Big brother is still alive?" she asked.
"Yes, and he's now a leader of a new country," Jan responded back as he gets one bread from the sack.
"What? Really?"
"Yup, I'm not joking."
Jan then went closer to her. "Keep this as a secret, okay?"
Gretchel then nodded in agreement.
But, when she will run away from home? Only time can tell.
