Delkon Itsuba, a notorious crime boss who is wanted for human trafficking and kidnapping. Rachel regarded him as a potentially dangerous man but I however was yet to see what she meant by that.
That perspective all the changed the moment his flames spread across the store, it surrounded us and provided no means of escape.
Rachel's hands were completely shaken when I gazed upon her, how strong is this dude? I stood right in front of Rachel with a smile of determination written all over my face. Don't get me wrong it's good to possess courage.
Just ensure you won't end up at death's doorstep while your at it, but in my case. I'm literally knocking on it's door. I might be a mage but I have no spells at my disposal, not even a low level spell.
Even though I had no spells, what good of a friend am when I can't even protect those who consider me an ally.
Delkon wasn't your typical kind of villain, he wouldn't tell me to get out of his way. He'd glady burn me to death alongside Rachel.
"You've made a very big mistake kid."
Flame's surrounded the hands of Delkon, the crackling sounds produced by the fire increased and became highly audible. I couldn't move, Frozen on the spot is what I'd use to access my situation.
The intensity of the flames caused our bodies to sweat profusely, it actually reminded me of the death of my family.
"Inferno blast!"
Delkon exclaimed, he stretched his right hand forward causing the flames surrounding it to be propelled at me in the form of a beam. It is a long-range technique which would cause an intense level of damage to the human body.
As I stood in front of Rachel, I thought it was over for me.
"Aqua shield!"
I turned to face Rachel the moment I heard her voice. Blue light emanated from her hands, water rose from the ground and encased us like a dome. This was Rachel's ultimate defense, the water dome or as she'd like to call it, Aqua shield.
The flames were converted to steam on contact with the dome of water, this put a slight grin of annoyance on the face of Delkon. He tilted his neck sideways and signaled his men to surround the dome.
"I'm sorry Xavier, I've put you through so much since I met you."
Rachel muttered and got up slowly to her feet, she walked right in front of me with a smile drawn on her face.
"I won't be a burden to you anymore."
I don't think she understands that right now I'm the burden here, it couldn't be helped anyways. None of us expected we'd run into her childhood nemesis in a liquor store.
The water dome evaporated with the flames, the mixture of water and heat will result to that eventually. As the steam cleared we found ourselves surrounded by the men of Delkon.
"What is that?"
I muttered to myself as they weren't the only thing my left eye caught. I pointed to my left and shouted a bit in astonishment.
"isn't that?"
Rachel gazed at the direction I pointed to, it didn't take a second for her to succumb to surprise too.
Laying right below a shelf was a large box which had the initials "Xerxe" written on it. I grinned my teeth in a bit of satisfaction before clenching my fists smirking like a deranged lunatic.
"This is officially a rescue mission."
Rachel simultaneously smiled with me, but not like a psychopath that needed help.
"Aqua Canon.."
She slammed her hands together which caused the manifestation of four magical circles right above us, looking up brought back memories because the more I looked at it, the more I realized.
"Wasn't this the?, Yeah..."
Those words raced across my mind, I remembered those circles and the spell she muttered clearly. It almost killed me, it's not something that I'd easily forget.
Highly pressurized rays of water shot out from the magical circles at the men, it moved quickly leaving them insufficient time to react and it connected with their chests.
They spat out blood from their mouth and groaned in pain, blown off their feet they fell to the ground after being sent through several shelves. Aqua Canon didn't necessarily entail emitting water alone, the water ejected is pressurized to the point it could dent steel.
"Get the box I'll hold them off."
I nodded to the instructions Rachel had given and went straight for the box, on approaching it my path was blocked by another one of Xerxes cronies.
"I've already had enough for one day so don't you dare make it worse"
I bent my upper body forward before launching my whole body towards the stomach of the assailant in front of me, my right shoulder made contact with his stomach and I speared him to the ground.
"Take that you bastard"
Xerxes Inn had rubbed off greatly on me, I seem to have picked up on the vulgar vocabularies used in the Inn from time to time.
Right in front of Rachel was Delkon, he had put a cigarette in his mouth and lighted it with his magic. He smiled lustfully looking at the well developed body of Rachel.
"Oh she'll make me millions on the black market, I must acquire her."
His corrupted thoughts made him the way he is, and that's how he built his financial status illegally, trafficking women and children. He wasn't going to waste anymore time than he had to, the people's attention was already drawn from outside the store.
"Your coming with me."
He concluded plainly, he did not wish to disfigure his merchandise and devalue her. Therefore an alternative had to be made. He dashed forward with Rachel being his primary target. Consumed by shock, she retaliated and stretched her right hand towards him.
"Aqua Canon!"
Pressurized rays of water were ejected from the circles once again towards it's target Delkon.
"How persistent."
Delkon rotated his body in the air and supported his landing with his hands, he propelled himself forward towards her after evading all the rays of water and grabbed her by the neck.
Rachel gasped for air being held in a chokehold, her eyes widened and her pupils dilated from her oxygen being cut off.
"You were always a persistent brat, your magic is weak against mine. It's over."
He stated simply before increasing the pressure he applied to her throat and she started gagging.
"Far from it!"
Delkon raised his head in a bit of surprise before turning his neck sideways at his left, his face met with a flying punch from me which propelled him backwards a bit.
I added momentum to make this possible as I lacked the necessary strength. He was still on his feet however but I had freed Rachel who gasped desperately for air after the chokehold.
"Pick on someone your own gender"
I squeezed my finger's into my fists and stared down at Delkon who was visibly upset that a mere kid had put his hands on his face.
"Come on, I'll clobber you Delkon"
I spoke retaining the cold look I always had in my eyes, backed up by determination and will power.
