I stood right in front of Rachel who slumped to her knees, I successfully landed a blow which freed her from the grasp of Delkon. Now that I think about it, was it a smart thing for a mage without mastery of any spells to do? Pissing off an even more powerful mage? Guess I'll find out the hard way.
"How.."
Delkon walked forward slowly towards me the problem child, flames burst out of his body responding to his rage.
"Dare you."
The flames erupted at full force which heated up in a straight line direction towards the roof. It engulfed his body as Delkon stared at me, I could feel this murderous intent he had and it gave me the chills.
Typically like Xerxes said earlier, your affinity with magic depends mostly on the awakening factor. Rachel was as calm, elegant and free-flowing like the water and she became a water mage. I on the other hand followed a path where I felt would lead me to the solutions.
I became free like the wind, which caused the affinity for wind magic in me to bloom. Delkon on the other hand was a different story, his rage alone was the possible casual factor which allowed his affinity for fire magic to bloom in him.
"Hehehe."
The faint laughing sound created by my mouth was rather audible enough to everyone in the store including Delkon.
"I see we got off on the wrong foot, I'm Xavier. Unfortunately I don't have time to have a little chat with you so I'll just be on my merry way."
I scratched the back of my head while saying all this, I wasn't dumb enough to realize that my chances of victory in this battle was zero. Therefore I'd rather use all the strength I have to pull off a phenomenal getaway than die fighting.
I picked up Rachel who could barely stand on her own as of the moment, the chokehold she was caught in must have been a rather serious one for her to still be breathing heavily.
I ran towards the exit while Delkon was carried away by surprise, I was no man at all.
"Your going nowhere!"
He fired off another inferno blast towards my back as I ran, I could sense the attack coming, deciphering what I mean, I could feel the temperature of the fire blast heading towards me and man it was hot!
I stopped moving and crouched trying to build momentum in my two legs, I had Rachel in a bridal style position in my arms.
I leaped upwards and above the blast the moment it got close to me with all the strength I had. It blew down the exit's door along with the wall that supported it.
"Thanks for the path."
I spoke to Delkon mockingly and escaped the building using the exit he had provided for us. Even in this life or death situation I joked around like a maniac who wasn't afraid of death. Truth be told I wasn't, part of me was looking forward to death.
Delkon infuriated rushed towards the exit of the store and once again he stretched his right hand towards my back emitting a large blast of flame.
"Your not going anywhere!"
He aimed another inferno blast at my feet this time around, it hit the ground right next to me which in turn knocked me off balance and then propelled me off my feet. The citizens of Terre Lane who thought the store was originally on fire all ran away in panic after seeing what had really transpired.
Little cloud of dust surrounded me as I crashed into the ground, I didn't expect what happened next at all.
"O-uch."
I opened my left eye slowly and blinked it severally after I saw what was right in front of me. It was Rachel's ass laying right on my chest and in front of my face. I knew I carried Rachel in a bridal style position but I didn't expect this would happen if we got knocked over.
To make matters worse, she donned a mini skirt, her chest was laid right on my lower body, bent over her panties became visible to me and my eyes expanded. I didn't expect this to happen in the middle of a life threatening battle.
I felt an uncomfortable feeling in my lower body as Rachel's rather big boobs for someone her size was placed against it.
"Uh-oh."
Another flame blast hit the ground right next to us and we were blown off our initial positions, this time I was pushed farther than her.
"All the times I couldn't believe in magic.."
I muttered softly to myself as Delkon walked forward towards Rachel, he stretched his right hand towards her while she was still on the ground.
"Forget selling you off in the black market, I'll kill right here, right now..."
Flame's surrounded his right hand which was aimed towards Rachel who tried to get up to her feet.
"Rachel!!"
I yelled out in a bit of concern for her, Delkon fired the blast off towards her face. The environment suddenly froze as I got to my feet, I didn't know what I was doing anymore. All I felt was concern for the safety of Rachel.
A green light rapidly emanated from my body before it was converted into highly pressurized currents of wind which surrounded my body. As I dashed forward out of anger, I found myself Infront of Rachel and Delkon's flaming hand immediately.
"You bastard!"
I sent my right fist towards his hand and all the highly pressurized wind energy that surrounded my body flowed into my right fist.
The flames were blown out as my fist made connection with his hand, the pressurized wind energy surrounding my right hand was released as a sort of air canon which blew Delkon off his feet, he was blown meters backwards as the energy released was a tad too much.
It's pressure alone cracked the ground beneath us and the debris was taken with the currents of the wind. Delkon crashed into the ground and spat out blood with his eyes widened and pupils dilated on impact. He rolled several times on the ground before coming to a stop and groaned heavily in pain.
Rachel gazed upon me with the greatest level of disbelief, she remembered that technique, the aero surge which Xerxes used a lot.
But I did more than that didn't I? I stared down at Delkon with my right fist raised towards my face, the highest level of determination written all over it as I muttered softly the name of the technique you could say I just invented.
"Tempest..Canon."
