"Tempest Canon."
Rachel stared at me with astonishment, what the hell just happened? A general question that ran through the mind of both Rachel and Delkon.
"You bastard.."
Delkon rose to his feet, his movements seemed to have been reduced after taking the Tempest Canon head on. The highly pressurized wind canon was strong enough to dent steel on impact.
Blood dripped from his mouth, his clothes covered with dust and his hair scattered by the wind. He looked like he went six rounds in a boxing contest and lost every step of the way.
"X-xavier..."
Presently you could say the Tempest Canon had it's effects both physically and mentally. Although I couldn't blame her for my sudden rise in power, it was unexpected.
"Thank you."
Tears rolled down her cheeks and she sobbed softly, she. realized that she could have died in the hands of Delkon assuming I didn't step in.
"It's fine now Rachel, everything's going to be just fine."
I assured her, truthfully speaking the chances of my victory in this battle were 70-30. Experience, magic power and rank were the major factor I lacked but Delkon, he possessed all that I lack in terms of battle.
"I'll handle this."
A sudden rush of wind blew through Rachel's hair and surrounded my body, my hair danced vividly thanks to the wind energy that surrounded me.
"Don't get cocky because you learned a feeble spell kid!"
Delkon dashed forward with the intent of attacking me head on, I responded to his movements and dashed towards him as well. Due to the difference in speed Delkon didn't realize when I got behind him, I sent a right hook at his back then swiftly followed up with a leg sweep.
The pressurized wind that surrounded my body provided the strength and speed my underdeveloped body could not. The moment I knocked Delkon off his feet, My right hand went straight for his back and this time, I directed the flow of the wind into my fist and released another Tempest Canon on him.
"BLEGH!!"
Delkon groaned as his mouth spread wide, from it he coughed out a significant amount of blood and was propelled through the walls of a building. As he landed roughly on the ground there was a slight popping sound in his shoulder.
His left shoulder was dislocated from the earlier impact with the wall.
"I can do this, Don't allow him the chance to strike back."
I encouraged myself in my thoughts, I got slightly carried away by the way the battle was playing out in my favor. I approached the slightly scattered building with my confidence reaching it's maximum limit.
When I got closer to the building, flames emerged from within, it's pressure was enough to knock me down to my feet.
The building was literally set ablaze, Delkon walked through the hole he created when he was blown through the walls.
His face was covered in blood and flames burst out of his body responding to his rage.
"Now you've done it, no one has pushed me this far, I'll reward your accomplishment by spraying your own grave with your blood!"
BOOM!
A loud explosive sound echoed through the environment as he dashed towards me, Delkon's power increased as he got even more enraged. His speed far surpassed mine thanks to his power up.
My eyes couldn't keep up with his movements, not even in the slightest. The only glance I got of him was right before he sent his flaming right fist straight at my face, I was able to instinctively put my hands up to block but the sheer force of his attack was tremendous.
As I got blown off my feet, I could feel my arms trembling like they were going to shatter and that feeling spread throughout my body, that was how strong that punch was. I slipped slowly into unconsciousness, It was impossible after all, for a rookie mage like me to beat a high ranked one like Delkon.
"Xavier!"
Rachel exclaimed, she witnessed the immediate turn of events, it became clear. The sheer difference in power between us and Delkon. Rachel rushed over to me the instant I crashed to the ground ejecting lot's of blood from my mouth.
I lost consciousness and was close to death, my hands had sustained serious damage after using it as a shield.
Before Rachel could reach me she stopped moving, her facial expression completely overwritten by shock and fear.
"Your next.."
Delkon stood right in front of her, she couldn't sense him coming, his drastic power up rendered her olfactory sense's useless.
"Goodbye Rachel."
Flame's engulfed the right hand of Delkon who lifted it up above Rachel, he looked her in the eye for a moment before sending his fist downwards towards her skull.
Rachel watched his right fist descend towards her and little by little, her vision became blurry and all she could see was a white background. It appeared like death was beginning to summon her.
The ground beneath them was broken as dust arose and filled the area, the feeling of his fist making contact with his target was very satisfying and he thought it was all over.
As the dust cleared moments later, Delkon's eyes met with Rachel who crouched with her hands holding her head, she thought it was truly the end for her.
"What the!?"
Rachel slowly put her hands down and opened her eyes, the jacket of a man flapped right in front of her. Realizing who the figure was tears rolled down her cheeks and she squinted her eyes crying softly.
"Master.."
It was Xerxes, he caught the right hand of Delkon that was engulfed in flames with little to no difficulty. Delkon was dumbfounded by what just happened.
"I-impossible!"
Xerxes sighed softly turning to face his apprentice who was knocked out in battle, me. He turned his attention to Rachel who was visibly crying, pleased to see Xerxes at a time like this.
"Oh well, I guess I should have expected things would go sideways. Just to get a damn package, do you know how many customers chased me before I got here?"
Rachel laughed softly before she sniffled.
"Sorry master."
Xerxes smiled before turning his attention back to Delkon and his facial features changed, he was pissed off more than ever.
"Anyone who tries to hurt my disciples, will pay."
He warned the visibly shakened Delkon who was flabbergasted that Xerxes caught his full power punch with just one hand.
