Chapter 16 - Chapter 15: Goblin Army VI V.3

We headed to the library after dropping off Elaina in the infirmary. Once we entered, Ysletta cast a sealing magic to seal the room.

"Start explaining." She said while she took her seat.

"How do you usually cast magic?" I asked and was quite nervous because I don't really know how did I even create a {Multicast} skill.

She chanted at an insane speed and a magic circle came out and an icicle was shot beside my head.

"I see," I DON'T SEE AT ALL. How does that work? She didn't even say it to me? Do they not have a system like mine?

"Do you not use the system to cast magic?"

"I also use it but of course, you still need to feel the mana and not just solely rely on the system."

"Then why do you chant?"

"Because it is the rule of magic! That's why you're the odd one here."

Ahh really? I use the rule of science...

"Is that what has been taught since a long time ago?"

"Yeah," she's starting to have an annoyed tone. She's becoming impatient and so am I since I really want to hunt today.

"Then how about just creating an image of the magic and materializing it right after?" I suggested though I'm not really sure if it will work, but she's a great mage maybe she can pull it off. She closed her eyes and raised her hand in front.

*SWOONG*

An icicle flew at an insane speed, much faster than the first one, "Haha, ma'am are you trying to kill me?" I said while I nervously laugh and started panicking for my life.

A few moments later multiple icicles flew past my body. I stood there, not moving an inch because if I move, I die.

"Hmmm, so that's how it is," she smugly looked at me.

"Yes, um can I leave now?" I asked as I am getting more impatient.

"If you bring me the head of a Goblin Lord, I'll personally teach you an Epic Skill."

"DEAL!" I yelled and left the room quickly.

I ran toward the exit and bolted to the town's gates.

"Hoho, it's good to see you again, young man." A raspy voice came from above while I approach the gate, "Are you going back to the Goblin's Forest?"

"Yes!" I shouted, "Here, I'll open the gates for you."

"Thank you, Sire!" I left as soon as the gates open

...

I reached the edge of the forest before I entered deep inside, I tried creating a magic arrow. First, I hold an arrow and pour mana into it. It didn't really give me a skill, rather it just added a magical property to it. Then next I tried imagery, it should work, right?

...

*Ding*

{You have obtained a new skill: Magical Arrow}

{Normal / Magical Arrow Lv. 1: Active}

Proficiency: Activate 5000 times

MP cost: 2 MP

Cooldown: 1 second

The damage dampens when the same target is hit consecutively. Damage dampening percentages: 90%, 75%, 60%, 40%, 20%, 10%.

I opened my eyes and it was already nightfall.

"Wow! That took me a lot of time to make." I pant as I feel mentally exhausted.

I moved to a relatively hidden spot in a tree and slept there.

...

Morning came, and I hear a lot of footsteps leaving the forest.

"Ahhhh! Seems like we had a nice hunt today Chief!"

I peeked and saw they are carrying a big wagon full of goblin heads. My greed was saying I should take it, but they don't look like bad guys so it will only make me in the wrong.

I let them be and moved on, "Come to think of it, wouldn't the bow be useless if I just use {Magical Arrow}?" That hit me with a sudden realization. I remember I came here to train my bow skills and try to level up so I can add points to my dexterity. But what if I use {Magical Arrow} instead of a regular arrow?

I'll try that out once I use up every arrow. I went and search around the outskirts of the forest so I can avoid running into the army of goblins. After a few minutes of searching, there were 5 goblins who are patrolling the area. I ready myself to shoot and pray that the arrow hits. I sneaked behind them and aimed at the nearest one to me.

"Of course, I hit the one beside it..." The goblins got alerted and started looking around. Seems like they haven't discovered me yet.

{Goblin Lv. 5 defeated! You gained +50 exp}

I keep shooting and practicing my accuracy. It took me a while to kill all of them.

{Goblin Lv. 5 defeated! You gained +50 exp}

{Goblin Lv. 5 defeated! You gained +50 exp}

{Goblin Lv. 5 defeated! You gained +50 exp}

{Goblin Lv. 5 defeated! You gained +50 exp}

They give off little experience. I need to go deeper if I need to level up, but I'll just practice my shooting accuracy.

After some while, I used up all of my arrows so starting now, I'm gonna have to use the {Magical Arrow}. I put away the bow and quiver and also picked up the goblin swords and cut off their head. I put all the heads in one subspace pouch and put it inside my inventory along with the swords.

I hunted goblins on the outskirts for the day and meditated from night to the next morning to recover my MP and increase my {Basic Mana Mastery}. This went on for a few days and I garnered 78 goblin heads. I didn't level up though. After some while of collecting the swords the goblin held, a system window popped up.

{Inventory full. New feature unlocked: Equipment Fuse}

{Equipment Fuse

Tab 1: Fuse 10 pieces of the same equipment for a 5% chance of creating a higher rarity.

Tab 2: Fuse 25 pieces of the same equipment to create a piece of strengthened equipment with less durability.}

Now that's interesting. One's a gamble and one sacrifices durability to strengthen it.

"OF COURSE I CHOOSE GAMBLING!" I yelled and pressed Tab 1.

I put 70 pieces of equipment there and TADA! Nothing. Well that's the thrill of gambling ain't it? Would be boring if I got one immediately.

With this new feature, I'm gonna need to hunt more goblins! I scurry to the outskirts of the forest and keep finding patrolling goblins. I killed them time and time again until I got 70 pieces of swords again.

"GAMBLE!" I fused everything and... VIOLA! Nothing.

"Well, this happens right?" ha ha ha.

At least I have 148 goblin heads now. I'm gonna be RICH!

*Sudden Mission*

- Defeat the 1,000 Goblin Mage Horde (0/1000)

Reward upon completion: 100,000 exp

Reward upon failure: Death

This is bad...
