I ended up finding nothing useful to get in contact with spirits yesterday. I need to make another skill. I'll have to go hunting this time. I went to Sir Strum to ask if I could take the quiver of arrows with me to hunt and he said that it was free to members of Archery class so I went ahead and take one. I head to the guild to take on a request. When I entered Nea was there looking for a request too.
"Ah, Nea do you want to party up and take a request?" I approached her immediately and she looked at my equipment. Yep, she's judging me.
"Have you always gone on a hunt with no gear and just clothes?" She asks.
I felt a deadly stare of a woman behind me and I already guessed who it was so I didn't turn around.
"Yeah, I don't have extra money for equipment," I replied.
"I'm surprised. You even have the crappy training bow in the academy."
"Haha well, it's the skill that matters," I gaslight myself because I'm poor.
"I'll give you novice equipment first."
"Okay sure," Of course, I gladly accepted, it is free after all.
*Ding*
{You've unlocked the Trade feature.}
{Nea wants to trade with you, do you accept?}
Uhh yes. I didn't know this was possible damn.
"Do you also have an inventory?" I asked her.
"Yeah, you unlock it by wearing a special subspace ring, usually only nobles or high-ranking adventurers have these."
I looked at Elaina at the reception and thought of her reactions when we met for the first time. I guess her reaction's valid.
{Nea gives 'Ethereal Light' armor set and 'Sakura Branch Bow+3', do you accept?}
I pressed yes and checked out the equipment she gave me.
{Normal/Ethereal Light Lv. 10}
- Made from glowing golds found in the Goblin Forest mines.
Armor set bonus:
+ 5 Strength
+ 10 Vitality
- 5 Agility
+ 100 HP
+ 50 MP
{Normal/Sakura Branch Bow+3}
Made from the branches of a Sakura Tree.
+24 Dexterity
+7 Intelligence
"Why is the statuses glowing on this bow?"
"That +3 you see is called an enhancement, you can enhance equipment's stats depending on their necessity identified by the blacksmiths."
I see, I need to get more materials for this one since this is a good bow.
"Since you've enhanced the bow already, you must know the materials needed right?" I asked her.
"Nope, the materials changes depending on the level of enhancement. Right now the materials needed are unknown since I haven't talked to any blacksmith yet about it. Ah, and there's this thing called refinement. Depending on the material you add on the equipment, you can add different stats, and the amount of times you can add stats differentiates per rarity," she explained while she is picking out requests on the mission board," Normal rarity can only add 1 stat and 3,6,9,15 for Rare, Epic, Legend, Mythic rarity items respectively."
Dang, so you can fill up this stuff with a bunch of stats and options huh?
"Is there a way to upgrade rarity?"
"Yep! If and only if the equipment has the Growth option."
"Ah, alright. Then what request are we doing?"
"Well I picked out all extermination requests," Nea handed me the papers and told me to go to the reception to confirm the requests.
"You seem to be having fun," she glares at me with a sulky expression.
"Well, I received my first equipment that's why haha," I nervously laugh and brush the back of my head, " Ah, please confirm these requests," I tried to shift the topic away.
She stamped the papers furiously while looking me dead in the eyes. She handed it to me angrily and gave me a sign to leave. I went back to Nea to ask what to do next.
"Let's prepare some potions and supplies, also is she jealous?" she nudges me and pokes my arm as if mocking me.
"Then leave that to me to do, I'll gather it by today and head to the training grounds."
"Okay please do, we'll start tomorrow morning and by the way, Rea is in the training grounds also, you should go greet her."
"Sure sure," we both went out of the building and went on our ways. I spent a few hours purchasing potions and supplies that would suffice both of us for 3 days assuming that's all it takes to finish the requests.
I went back to the academy with the supplies in my inventory. I guess I'll be the bag boy for this venture. I went straight to the training ground to test the new bow and bringing an outside bow was allowed.
"KUYA!" Rea happily runs towards me requesting a hug. [Kuya=Big Brother]
"Hello, hello, how's your practice doing?" I asked her with a smile cause she is too cute.
"She's doing well, I'm the one teaching her of course!" Eirene said with a boastful tone.
"Okay..." Seriously what's her deal for being smug every time she talks to me?
"Did my sister give you those? I remember her buying those in the stalls around the city." Rea asked with curiosity.
"Yes, we're going to the Goblin Forest tomorrow so you should behave here while we are gone, okay?"
"Don't worry, Rea is behave," She flexed her arms and act all high and mighty.
"As if you're strong enough to kill goblins, heh!" She flipped her hair as she turned around and continued practicing.
"Haha, then I'll be practicing now, Rea."
"Okay..." she looked at me then looked at Eirene. She watched us train until nightfall.
...
"Do you think you're good just because you can compete with me?" Eirene asked and clicked her tongue before she left the training grounds.
"What kind of crack is she on..." I watched her leave the room while Rea is already gone and left I guess.
"Alright, time to create a new skill." I talked to myself thinking what else I could make.
I try to make an arrow made up of mana but to my surprise, even though I could create it, it doesn't register as a skill. If {Snipe} is a skill that can amplify the damage of my arrow then what about amplifying the number of arrows?
{Snipe}
I used the skill while creating condensed wind arrows made of mana.
{You unlocked an additional option. Snipe: Split}
{Normal(Growth)/ Snipe Lv.1: Active}
Proficiency: Defeat 1,000 monsters
MP: 10MP
Cooldown: 5 seconds
-Split projectile (On)
Splits the projectile into 3 dealing 33.33% of the normal damage to each projectile. Able to control each projectile.
So it can be turned off huh? And the skill became a growth type. I tried it on the practice target with the split projectile on. I could tell the damage of each projectile was split evenly. I tried turning it off and shooting, and it was possible. I tried to control it and hit different targets, although it was mentally draining, it was possible to control each one of the split projectiles.
Even the proficiency to level up the skill changed. I guess it is easier now to level it up if all I need is 1,000 monster kills.
I should make do with this for now and get plenty of rest today, it's going to be a long day tomorrow.
