Chereads / Immortality in a New World / Chapter 18 - Chapter 17: Accuracy V.4

Chapter 18 - Chapter 17: Accuracy V.4

I ran to the battlefield to collect the heads of the goblins.

"Ah crap! I hope there is still some leftover for me to collect!"

I ran as fast as I could then the next moment I couldn't feel my body. The world started spinning and I saw a magic similar to my {Razor Wind} but its black in color. Then I saw my body dropping down to the ground headless.

"I died?" While my consciousness fade, I kept thinking how? Was it that black magic earlier?

{Immortality activated.}

{Going back to recent save point.}

"Welcome to the town of beginnings, Bag-iw!" The old man shouted with a welcoming and pure joy in his voice.

My body and mind was shaken up from suddenly going back to this bustling and joyful scene of the town.

"Come on, young man, this may be your first time having contact with other people but you don't have to make it obvious! hahaha!" He tried giving a joke to shake of my tense expression.

I took a deep breath and checked my stats and skills.

{Stats:

Lv. 14

HP: 100

MP: 245

Strength: 16

Agility: 32

Dexterity: 23

Intelligence: 49

Vitality: 20

Magic: 16}

Ah, I'm glad I put the stat points I had before dying. I touched my neck while I look back to look at the Goblin's Forest.

"Was it the Shaman?" I questioned myself as I remember that it is the only monster there that is capable of casting a higher magic.

I opened my skills to check but I was shocked to see that everything else besides {Basic Mana Mastery Lv.2} and {Rest} was gone. I checked my titles and as expected, they're also gone. I'll just be glad I still have {Basic Mana Mastery}.

"Come on, don't just stand there. Follow me, I'll guide you to your registration!"

"Ah yes..." I answered weakly.

As we walk towards the guild, I tried condensing air on my hands and try to cast Razor Wind again just like how I did back then.

"We're here, I'll talk to the staff and then they'll guide you in their registration," he went inside and took a few minutes before coming out, meanwhile, I'm still trying to get my skill back.

"Go inside, young man!" He yelled as he walk out the door, "Then I'll see you around," he pat my shoulders and walked back to the gate.

I went inside and head directly to the receptionist. It's Elaina, she handed me a papyrus and a quill.

"Please fill out the necessary details."

"Sure," I filled out everything and pulled out the bag full of goblin parts to sell, "Please help me sell this too," I asked her. Then she showed the same reaction as last time, her eyes sparkled and she started playing with her hair.

"Sure," she said in a cute way. She grabbed the bag and my hand, "Ah, whoops, I didn't mean to touch your hand," I laughed at her advances, I found it funny for some reason, maybe because even though I died and went back her personality is still the same. Maybe it doesn't really change the people. That is what I thought...

"Here is 68 silver and 42 copper Eth!" she came back and handed me over the pouch of coins, "Do you need anything else sir Ras?" She leaned forward and put her face near me while she puts her hair behind her ears.

"Is there any quest related to goblins?" I looked at the mission board and ignored her advances.

"Ah, there is, in fact, the mayor released a request for every adventurer, for each goblin you kill, you will be rewarded with 1 silver!" So it already started at this point in time huh? "The adventurers are already getting ready to go hunt that's why it's jam-packed here right now."

"By the way you must be rich with that thing inside your clothes?" She asked but I turned away and went to the mission board. "AH! HOW RUDE!" she yelled while I walk away from the desk.

I'm waiting for Suzuki to approach me. I need that request again.

"Are you looking for quests related to the forest?" It was spoken weakly and softly.

I turn to my side and said, "Yes, do you perhaps have one?"

"Well I really need a power source to continue my research, but the one I need is the Shamans orb that it uses. I'll pa-" I cut him off and replied immediately, "Sure I'll go do it."

"Really? Thank you very much?! Ah by the way they are stronger than an ordinary mage so please be careful," he said cheerfully and with concern.

Funny, I just died to it recently. Well I guess it never happened in the first place or rather it only happened to me.

"Do you have a place to stay in? If you don't mind-" I heard Elaina's voice coming closer behind me.

"I'm going straight to the academy," I said and walked away.

"Jeez, what a dense creature, is that a rich people's attitude?" she clicked her tongue and pouted.

...

I head inside the academy's gates and I was immediately greeted by Thea.

"Hello! Welcome to Crimson Lotus Academy, are you here to enroll?" she said gently.

"Yes, can you please lead me to the archery if ever there is one," I should stop acting like I know these, it may create some confusion.

"Of course, then please follow me to fill up your form."

...

"Please meet the Dean of Archery at the right-hand side, I've already notified her of your enrollment."

"Is there any chance that there is a dorm in the academy?" I asked so maybe I could stay here for a while and train before facing off that Goblin Mage horde. I'm sure they will appear again since they marched towards the city.

"Yes, you'll have to pay an extra 10 silver Eth for it, is that fine?"

"Sure, where is the dorm, I would like to drop off some of my stuff and change."

"Ah, just ask the Dean of Archery for your room, she will be the one to assign it."

"oh, thank you." I started walking then I reached the bridge and a man was waiting for me at the other end.

"Are you Ras Yggrel?" his deep voice echoed throughout the hall.

"Yes sir," I answered.

"Follow me."

We walked to the Dean's office and came inside.

"Hello newcomer, I'm the Dean of Archery Lai Montifilia."

I bowed and introduced myself, " Ah yes, I'm Ras Yggrel."

"Say, your Intelligence is higher than your Dexterity and it seems like you even have an additional stat called Magic, why'd you choose archery?" I was shocked, the additional stat also showed up. And she doesn't seem too surprised about it.

"Hmm? Are you wondering why I wasn't taken aback knowing you have additional stat?"

"What? Oh, did my reaction give it away?"

"Fufu, yes, you are quite an oddball. I also have an additional stat called Accuracy meaning the higher it is, the more chances I could precisely hit a monster's vital point. Also, when I reached 500 points of Accuracy I gained a special skill related to it, it's called {Extreme Accuracy}, with this even if I shoot an arrow in any direction, as long as I have sight of the enemy, it will always hit the vital point." She explained in great detail and even gave me a demonstration, she threw her pen in the other direction of the vase and looks at the vase then suddenly the pen hit the vase and broke it.

I was amazed, that is totally a cheat skill. But how high is her level to have 500 points in Accuracy? Assuming 5 points per level up, then she's above level 100?

"Can I ask how you obtained the Accuracy stat," I asked with extreme curiosity and desperation. If I manage to gain that then I won't have problems going into long-range battles.

"You're a greedy one aren't you?" She smirked at me and tilted her head.

"Apologies," I said, and then she replied," Just train with your shooting, all the advanced students of archery class have Accuracy stat."

That's it? It's that simple?

"Simple, right? Then head to the training grounds at the end of this hallway." She smiled and grabbed her cup of tea.

"Then I'll go ahead and train immediately." I walked out and before I exit the man gave me a key with a number on it.

"209, that's your room," he said while he hands me the key.

"Mind if I ask your name, sir?" I asked since I never knew it before I died.

"Strum," he said coldly.

"Thank you, then I'll be going now." I bowed to both of them and left the room.

I head immediately to the training grounds.
