"Good night bes"
They finally decided to end their ever long conversation and go to sleep.
Jena peeped at her phone and realised that they discussed for over an hour! She really had to go to bed now if she didn't wanna be scolded by miss Becky tomorrow at work.
"Good night snuggles" she kissed her giant fluffy brown teddy bear and cuddled it tightly as she slowly drifted asleep.
Snuggles was a gift from her mum and dad on her fifth birthday celebration. Unfortunately, neither of them lived to celebrate another birthday with her after.
The teddy bear holds sentimental value and she cherished it so much. If she had her way, she would take snuggles everywhere she went.
The softness of its fur brought her solace, reminding her of the warmth and love her parents always made her feel.
Snuggles was indeed a constant reminder of the love she shared with her parents and she knew that as long as she had snuggles, a piece of her parents would always remain with her.
. . . .
A week had passed since the day she last saw this mystically overwhelming Lucien Sanderson. He kept popping up in her head. A day didn't pass by without her thinking about him. He was all over her mind.
It was already 10:30 pm and they were already packing up for the day. They welcomed tons of customers today, they were all pretty exhausted and couldn't wait to relocate home.
Usually, they lock up by 10pm sharp but the customers were just too many today, like today was an incredibly special occassion but it would've been very unprofessional of them to leave the customers unattended so they had to offer their best services, incase of next time.
"You didn't tell me you caught a big fish Jen" A masculine voice echoed, grinning mischieviously at her. It was Devin, her closest friend slash colleague there at the restaurant.
"Huh?" Jena was utterly confused. "What on earth are you talking about?"
"Oh Jen, don't pretend like you don't know"
"Seriously Devin i'm confused. What do you mean "big fish"?" She air quoted the big fish word.
"There's a handsome black SUV parked out there and the man inside the car requested to see you"
"What?" Jena was getting even more confused now. "I think you're mistaken Devin.. What does the man look like?"
"I don't know, why don't you go see for yourself"
"Seriously!"
"Here's some friendly advice Jen, never keep a man in an SUV waiting.. Take it from your best buddy" Devin winked in mischief.
"You better not be pulling pranks Devin" she warned him with serious glares, hoping for him to maybe burst out laughing and admit that he was joking but he didn't, his expression become more serious rather.
After receiving no other response from him, she sighed and said, "This better be good" causing Devin to smirk at her.
Hesistantly, Jena walked towards the black SUV as per Devin's directions. She walked straight to the side of the driver.
Trembling, she managed to speak to the man. "You asked to see me sir"
Taking a closer look at him, she realised that his appearance fitted more as a guy.
He too was cute with a handsome pair of golden brown eyes. From her analysis, she supposed he would be older than her with nothing more than five years.
"That would be me" A familiar masculine voice echoed from the back of the car, startling Jena.
Her whole body trembled as soon as she heard the voice. She started to wonder if she was dreaming.
"Rainbow!" his deep seductive voice echoed, sending shivers down her spine.
"Mr Sanderson!?" Jena was utterly shocked. Lucien would probably be the last person on the list of guys she had expected to pay her such a grand surprise visit. " Wh.. what are you doing here sir?"
"Just thought it would be a fun change of scenery to hang out in this surprisingly cool parking lot. Nothing wrong with that right?" A playful smile curved on his face. He seemed to be in a really good mood tonight.
"Okay" she could only agree with him. "My friend Devin said you wanted to see me"
"I did. Let's chat over it in the car shall we?"
"Um sir I don't think this is the um.." She trailed off.
"I'm not asking rainbow. Hop in let's have a chat" he coyed a smile at her.
She took a deep breath. With hesistant steps, she approached the car,her eyes scanning the surroundings for any warning signs what so ever.
As she opened the door, a mix of fear and curiosity filled her mind.
However, a sudden intuition reassured her that this man was incapable of hurting her despite his dangerous looks. Slowly, she settled into the seat, still cautious but willing.
"So i've got this juicy offer that i believe would interest you" Lucien started immediately she settled on the seat. He excuded an aura that was cool and calm, unlike the first day they met. Making Jena feel more comfortable.
"Really? What is that sir?" Jena asked, admiring the lovely interiors of his car. The lights inside the car were dim so she could hardly point out some things but she was quick to notice that he was putting on a long coat again today.
She wondered if it was the same with the one he wore that night at the party.
The corner of his mouth turned up slightly. "Well, rainbow, it's something pretty exciting but I want to build up the suspense a bit but trust me, it's worth the wait."
"Oh come on sir. Please don't keep me in all this suspense. It's already enough that you drove into the restaurant where I work, demanding to see me when I clearly don't remember disclosing such information to you." Jena queried.
Her impatience was pretty evident in the tone of her voice, causing an astonished expression to form on his face.
"Seems like i've piqued your curiosity, rainbow. Fine i'll share you the details soon, tomorrow, at my office. Meet me there?"
Jena gaped at him for a while before responding. "Why can't you just do it right here, right now, sir?" Jena stared deep into his eyes like she was trying to read something. "Is it a.. business proposal?"
Lucien leaned in,looking straight into her eyes. With a final tone he said, "Everything will be clear tomorrow. 10am sharp. I'll be waiting. Don't be late."
His words carried an air of finalism, leaving Jena in no mood for doubts or further arguments.
Strangely, she was intrigued by his authoritative demeanor that surprisingly motivated her to be punctual, not like she was one to be late for events or meetings, especially not mystery filled ones like this.
Realising she had nothing else to say, she accelerated towards the door
She pulled on the door, only to realise it was locked. An unsettled wave of fear crept through her bones, which completely vanished after a second.
Looking around, only then did her gaze fall on the guy behind the steering wheels, who had been sitting silently.
"Um.. sir?" She called out to the man. Her voice a bit cracky.
