Chapter 8 - Rules..

As the sun rose, Jena couldn't contain her excitement. She was literally overjoyed that she finally landed her partly dream job.

As early as 7:00 am, Jena was already prepared for her first day at work. She carefully chose her outfit, a crisp white blouse and a sleek black pencil skirt, wanting to make a great first impression. The unending joy and happiness she was feeling about seeing her president charming again today no doubt surpassed all the feelings of guilt she was having hours ago.

She checked herself in the mirror countless times, wanting everything to be absolutely perfect on her first day.

She adjusted her hair, smoothed out her blouse and made sure her make up was flawless. After giving herself one last approving glance in the mirror, she smiled contentedly and made her way to her sister's room.

"Jessy? I'll be leaving for work now."

Jessy didn't respond immediately. She could notice the extreme excitment coming from the tone of her voice.

"You seem so excited about this job offer." Jessy asked. She was still laying down on her bed so she didn't bother sparing her a glance.

"I've always wanted to work in a company Jessy and you know it. Now it's finally happening, I can't help the joy. Maybe one day i'll even own a company.. just like you."

"Just like me." Jessy echoed and now faced Jena. Jena could see her brows arch up. "So now you wanna be just like me?"

"Jessy it's not what you think. you know exactly what I mean by that." Jena was confused. Knowing Jessy well enough, she could only imagine whatever thoughts were brooding in her head already.

"It's fine. Won't you be late for work?"

"Yes um I guess i'll be leaving now.. Bye Jessy." Jena quickly left after getting no response from her.

It really bothered her that her and her sister weren't getting along so well as they should, but Jessy on the other hand seemed to be doing just fine with it. Jessy always had this impression that Jena was jealous of her when actually, Jena is probably the happiest person on earth for her. She had a heart of a blooming flower- full of beauty, growth and the ability to bring joy to others but yet her sister finds it so hard to trust and believe her. It really made her so sad when ever she thought about it.

. . .

Arriving at the grand office building of Mega Enterprises, Jena took a deep breath and stepped inside with a smile curved upwards.

The sound of ringing phones filled the air.

She greeted every single soul she passed with a joyful spirit, radiating happiness all over the building. People couldn't help staring at her and making alot of silly comments. She always caught unwanted attention everywhere she went, captivated by her exceptional beauty and curvy figure.

Like a goddess, her blonde look drew long stares from all who laid eyes on her, making it hard for anyone to take their eyes off her.

As she reached the President's office, she closed her eyes, took a deep breath and finally managed to calm her nerves before stepping in.

"You're here early rainbow." His deep, sexy voice echoed, startling Jena a bit. There he was telling her that she came early when he got here before her. How the hell did he even get there before her!?

"Um good morning sir Lucien."

"Hope you had a great night rest rainbow because you have a very long and busy day ahead of you." His deep blue eyes were fixed on hers.

"I'm ready to face it head on sir. Long day? Bring it on!" Her eyes sparkled with so much confidence.

Lucien raised an eyebrow at her and gave her a playful smirk in return.

"We'll see about that" he scoffed. "So how are you feeling?"

"I'm a bit nervous sir but also really excited to start. Could you please um.. tell me more about my role and what is expected of me? Please?"

"I take it you didn't read the files."

"No sir of course I did, and it was quite helpful but I still need you to make things a bit clearer to me."

"And what exactly could that be?"

"Um.. I don't know.. um.." She hesitated, searching for the right word.

Lucien patiently waited, giving her all the time she needed.

"..Boundaries..?" She mumbled.

She heard his laughter echo softly, causing her brows to knot in confusion.

"Boundaries!" He echoed loudly, exuding an intimidating expression. "What do you think rainbow?"

"I don't know sir you tell me and please stop calling me rainbow! It's way past the professional standards of a CEO of your level."

The corner of Lucien's lips shifted upwards. He was highly amused and at the same time, impressed by how daring this little rainbow was trying to be.

"Oops! Did I hit the wrong secretary?" Lucien asked with a playful smirk on his face. Jena's cheeks immediately flushed red. She tried so hard not to give in but he looked really cute right now, especially with that enchanting smile on his face.

"Well Jena, I couldn't agree more.."

A sigh quickly escaped her lips, thinking that was all.

"And I couldn't care less.. rainbow." He completed, accompanied with another enchanting smile.

O God! Jena felt an urgent need to face palm herself right now. How the hell was she gonna live with this man!? Geese!

"So here's your table rainbow."

He was currently standing by the side of a large brown desk with lots of files piled up on it. It was like someone hadn't been there for weeks! As much as she wanted to ask, she refrained from doing so. It was her first day at work and she wanted it to be as perfect as ever! She didn't say a word, she allowed him do most if not all of the talking. The tone of his voice wasn't really to die for but the sight of having to watch his gorgeous face alone was enough to send her smiling like an idiot!

"Is that clear?" His deep voice echoed loudly, jolting Jena.

"Yes sir" she replied, although she had absolutely no idea what he just said because she was so lost in what she was seeing and not what he was saying.

He was just about to open the door to his office when something suddenly clicked, causing him to halt.

"Oh and mind you rainbow.. I have rules."

He had his back facing her so she couldn't see his face but she could feel a deadpan expression coming from him.

"Wh.. what rules? Sir?" Her voice cracked and her lips trembled a bit.

"Don't be in a rush rainbow. You're not gonna know yet.. not until you break them."

And just like that, she watched him leave to his own office without uttering any other word.

The sides of his coat swaying elegantly with each step.
