"Bel, much appreciated."
He nodded as he caught it. Indeed it was from the extremely attractive elven commander Beldandy.
"Of course__"
She winked at him.
"I will be overseeing this duel then."
She announced as she made her way through the crowd of on lookers.
"Are you ready?"
The question was directed at the two.
"Yes."
Heilis nodded.
"Since you are this eager to suffer defeat I will hand to you in a silver platter____sigh___ let us get this over with."
Karlmine's voice was lacking in the enthusiasm department as he brandished his sword, it was clear his heart was not in it.
"You can now begin."
Karlmine had already gauged that Heilis wielded quite a formidable talent from the rest of the soldiers. He was clearly aware that the old man's son was formidable even the air he had around him was different, his had no vacillation at all instead it was saturated with self belief the true markings of a swordsman. He kicked the ground and closed the distance between him and Karlmine in a second.
"So fast."
"Just like I thought he is divine."
Similar murmuring of excitement and cheer could be heard from the spectating elves.
(Mystic art of the wind attribute to boost his advance and just the right amount with no effort or energy wasted.) In that split second Karlmine completely analyzed the entire situation he had no idea how he new that but he just did. Even with his memory gone it seems his body remembered how to fight.
CLANK___
The two swords gave off a vibrating metallic cacophony as they collided, Karlmine had intercepted the elf's opening strike with minimal movement.
"Huh, not bad for a mortal. Only a few people can actually defend themselves effectively from that."
The elf spoke to him whilst changing his form. What followed was a horizontal swing executed with superb precision but that to was blocked by Karlmine.
"Oh really then doesn't that mean you have been facing extremely weak opponents all your life."
Karlmine retorted while continuing to block the unending barrage of Heilis' sword combination strikes. Honestly even Heilis was now appreciating why this guy was praised as a great swordsman after all he this he was not using mystic arts to boost his swordsmanship like he was yet he was somehow managing to keep up with him which greatly annoyed him.
"You are not going to use any mystic arts are you looking down on me mortal."
He yelled and increased the speed of his attacks, Karlmine had been on the defensive all along but now his defense was beginning to be overwhelmed yet___
"When you implied that you had heard about me but still challenged me I thought your arrogance new no limits but now I see that not only is the height of your arrogance unfathomable but so is your ignorance."
"Huh!"
Heilis' concentration was disturbed by Karlmine's response giving Karlmine the opening for him to strike back but being a good swordsmanship Heilis leapt back to create some space for correcting his stance luckily Karlmine did not follow pursuit.
"Didn't your father teach you that when facing an opponent you should keep a level head?"
Karlmine asked nonchalantly which increased the young elf's irritation but he managed to forcefully calm himself down.
(So he managed to calm down, not bad.) Karlmine noted quietly. He appreciated the young elf's skill, forcing yourself to keep a cool head during battle was not easy task to accomplish.
