"So for how long have they been going on?"
She asked with a voice that was heavy with genuine worry.
"What are you talking about?"
"Do not play dumb with me, I know you have been having these episodes for a while now. When where you planning to alert someone?"
She was also frustrated which further confused Karlmine
"I wasn't planning on telling anyone."
"Tsk____ you haven't changed at all?"
The last part was hardly a whisper but Karlmine's body boasted of extremely sharp senses.
"We h-have met before."
His voice was strained, the backlash of the headache was still lingering despite his face not showing it.
"Took you so long
Her sigh was a heartfelt one straight from his soul and afterwards she smiled gently.
"It was about a decade ago from today but I guess in your current state you wouldn't recall anyway."
She began to recount their meeting.

The war between the elves and the humans had dragged on for a very long time, the humans were fighting on two fronts so with their resources and manpower scattered they were fighting a losing battle. When all seemed lost and the elves started seeing victory everything changed one night when the Allied Nations Black Corps joined the front which was facing the elves.
This group whose feats were mythical and whose existence was doubtful, not recognised by any particular domain but having existed for a while now was led by a young man. This particular young man who was barely two decades of age faced two of the mightiest elven warriors in combat and after a long battle, the human won. This outcome struck a heavy blow to the entire elven armies especially when it was leaked that this lone mortal in question actually wielded no mystical powers or any sort.
The elves were crushed and the moral plummeted heavily. However this same young man allowed the elves to retreat with no hindrance but during the retreat an elven commander was captured by some soldiers from the army of Taura who thought it was ridiculous to follow the stupid command of a young boy.
The elven lady was thus left at the hands of the soldiers as her allies ran away and abandoned her once they realised he had been captured. She was assaulted by despair like no other both from being captured by the enemy and from being betrayed by her own kin. Everything seemed lost and she had given up on hope as the soldiers attempted to have their way with her. Demons, that is what they looked like as they approached her simpering with lust and licking their lips savagely. They told her that she had to pay the price for what her race had done and that she would pay with her body but before they could do anything.
A cold aura of bloodlust pierced their backs.
"I believe the agreement was that every surviving elf would be allowed safe retreat how come I am seeing a captured elf here."
A new comer had joined them, he asked with a somber voice but seething anger could be felt lying beneath the quiet tone.
"Listen here brat scram, no body summoned you here and who cares anyway about what is done to a single elf."
The Five soldiers responded barbarically, their hearts were already overcome with lust and desires.
"That is unfortunate because I happen to care."
The young man responded calmly.
"Hey guys it seems we have a want to be hero here let us teach him a lesson."
Maybe they lacked battle experience for them to realise the danger imposed by the young man or they were just plane stupid or maybe it was both, they unsheathed their swords and turned them on a fellow human just so that they could forcefully have their way with an elven captive.
"How disgusting."
Leaving those two words the young man vanished and a few second later he sheathed his sword and their heads fell sequentially to the ground, he had killed them. The intensity of his gaze was heart wrenching but when he turned to the elf he smiled tenderly.
"Are you hurt in any way?"
"…"
The elven lady just shook her head as a response she was too afraid to speak, if someone could kill his fellow humans like that she dreaded to think what would happen to her next but the young man continued smiling.
"That is good, my name is Karlmine Regulus. Regulus by adoption though. You can call me Karl."
"K-Karl?"
She responded weakly.
"Yes. What is your name?"
He stretched his hand to her, she flinched but she replied.
