Chapter 51
(Story from the past, Pt 15)
Jake the Survivor Pov:
"Well, I kinda like building ships, and this is more than we probably need. Also I don't know when we will be back, so when we need a new one, I'll just build it. That is what I did with this one and the one before that!," I say with a cheery attitude.
"Well, I see no problem in it then, if you sell it to the dock, we will probably keep it for fishing. That means it will still be here when you return from your journey!," The Dog Beast-kin says. He looks similar to my grandparents dogs. They were border collies for my life and most of the family I have left on that side has dogs.
"I guess you are right on that, then I will just carry it with me!," I say as a fuming Law watches. I guess he doesn't like me that much, he must also be wondering how I can carry it.
"Carry it? Don't be stupid, the strongest man in the world can't lift a boat half that size. But anyway if you need a location to go when you come back and it is just a one way journey there are options. You could buy a ferry ticket to go to where you are going, you could also work on a fishing boat or something heading there. Those are the main option's," The man says.
I think back to my past and I remember a house design that will use the boat. "No, I am taking it with me, see?," I say grabbing the railing. Once I do that I slowly pick it up and hold it on my back. "Law, can you take my Great sword, I don't want it getting in the way!," I tell him so he goes to grab it.
As he does he drops it and it almost falls into the inlet. "How heavy is this thing anyway Jake?!," He complains due to the weight.
"Have you never held a great sword before son? Well now is a great time to learn!," I say starting to walk down the stone path into town.
"You can't just walk into town with that! It will cause a commotion!," The man says and he is right.
"Then can I leave it here for a week? I need to check some things out and then I will come and get it," I ask him and he nods. We tie it back down and I say, "If this is missing when we get back, you won't like it!" At that he holds his neck in fear.
I take my Great-sword back and we head to the Dock entrance. We sign with our boat and other stuff on for the time being here. We also let them know the time and when we will be back. From there we enter the town.
The town is very lively and the main street has hundreds of people shopping. Now here everything is a little bit higher end than everything else. They have building of the 1800s and clothes of the 1600s. Looking around you also have some from my Era, but worse for wear. It seems someone from that time has set up shop selling them.
We head around town and find the guild building in the center of town. It is a building connected up to the main square, as is the church, Prominent business's and the Wall of the towns noble. It seems that the Noble of this town has his mansion next to the square.
We head into the guild and people look at us. They don't know who we are and soon lose interest. I go up to the receptionist and from what I have seen, this town is mostly Beast-kin Dogs. The forgery to the right of the building is run by a dwarf and connected to this one. The building to the right is the Magic store and it has a Inn above it. It seems these three buildings were put up in tangent to work together.
The receptionist most resembles a Chocolate Retriever from my world. "Hello, do you know if there are any quests for dungeons or monster elimination in the area?," I ask her.
"Yes, on the board they are listed by rank and then type, then reward. You should find it right over there," She says pointing to a wall nearby and I thank her. Looking closer she has brown hair, dog ears, Blue eyes, and brown skin. That was why I said she looked like a Brown retriever.
We head over to the quest board and I look for a suitable quest as Law sits down at a table. He is going to be a handful, I will give him that, though he keeps looking at my back. Did he notice the hidden swords I have there?
Looking through there are a few low ranked bounties, not ones worth doing. There is a dungeon nearby though that needs cleared, and a monster plain. The dungeon is B ranked, it's the 'Visergoku' dungeon. The plain one is C ranked and just needs the plains near the town cleared of monsters, not beneficial. I choose one and head to the table.
I order some food and we eat, as we do, I see some men coming in. They walk to the front desk and ask, "Why don't you stop working here and have some fun with us?"
