Chapter 55
(Fighting Festival Scandal, Pt 2 of 5)
Kamapuff Pov:
"I can't believe that those adventurers, he had me send, failed! Why in the world are they still alive!," I yell to my servant.
"I don't know, sir Kamapuff. But we may get some information based on the fighting festival. You heard about how those kids had saved some royalty and nobles!," My servant points out.
"I know that, gridef! I don't need reminding!," I yell at him.
"Yes, my fault sir, I should know better," He says staying quiet.
"Well, the first rounds are set to start soon. We better get there to referee it," I tell my servant to which he nods. We leave the mansion and get into my carriage and go to the festival. It seems everyone else left already.
We arrive and the guards make a path for me as I head to the stands. Arriving there I see my brother, a fiendishly whitish-red Beast-kin fox, calming the crowd. "The Baron has arrived! Everyone please calm down!," He yells and everyone quiets down.
"Welcome to the 417th annual Horran fighting festival! I am glad to say that we have some special guests joining us today. We have Prince Theo, Princess Aaron, Margrave Samuel, His Son Henry who is participating, His daughter Hannah, and the ones who saved Theo and Aaron from monsters and Bandits, Hunter and Jake Boshu who are participating, and their younger sister Emma, along with their pets!," I shout out to the roaring crowd.
This festival covers up some of my operations as most everyone is here. It means almost no-one notices what I do in the background, part of the reason I work for him. But I still can't believe that those kids have Wolves as pets! But from the looks of it, Thankfully, I got on their nerves announcing the pets.
"Now if all the fighters who are participating could get on the stage. We will commence the fight shortly once everything is ready," I say sitting down. That is my brothers area of expertise so I will leave that to him.
Looking around I see Theo, Aaron, and Emma to my right with Charles. To my left I see Samuel, Hannah, Courtney, and a weird, white, Fox? I guess it is another of my brothers kids due to that pelt or hair color she has.
My brother signals that everything is ready so I get my head off my fist and stand up. I walk to the edge of the stage, over looking the crowd and then the stage. I look through the people in the ring, I see Henry, Hunter, and Jake in the ring with the other around sixty people.
"Let the fight commence!," I yell. Jake can't use magic so he will probably get out quickly. Henry is done training soon so he may get to the next stage. But Hunter is the unknown, from what I heard he grew up in monster infested areas for his two years of training. He will make it to the next round most likely.
I sit back down as it commences and watch the fight. But what comes I am not prepared for. When ever someone goes for Jake, they are thrown from the ring. It is the same for Hunter, but thankfully not Henry. Henry is managing, I guess he was better than I thought, but both Jake and Hunter are wild cards.
Eventually only sixteen people remain in the ring and I call the fight to a stop. "If everyone left in the ring could go to the nearby building, we can get the brackets filled out," I shout. Of the sixteen remaining, all three of the kids made it. The other thirteen I knew, some were in my pocket, so I need their help.
I go over to the building and enter with my brother as that White fox and the children of the nobles watch. Do they have to stare, but then again I don't normally do this. This is the second time Aaron has come through here. She came on the way to Margrave Samuels and the way back.
"One at a time, come up and pick a key chain from this box. Once you choose it will be removed and your number marked down. You will not know when you will be called, it will be random. You will only find out when the brackets are shown on the board later. With that form a line and when you pick give me a name," My brother said.
With that the bracket making commenced, as they did I passed some notes without anyone finding out to my men. They would know what to do later on from them. Once everyone was done we started with making the bracket.

Once the bracket is setup we grab it and take it out to the stage. "We have the bracket set, would Rishi and Zac please get in the Ring!," I call out. Rishi is one of my men, so he will take out Zac and then Jake. I don't exactly like Jake, so he needs to be taken out.
I wonder how this fighting festival will be, being the 417th annual one. Plus it is the first time two rotten royals have come to watch.
