Chapter 56
(Fighting Festival Scandal, Pt 3 of 5)
Aaron Pov:
The brackets had been announced and the first fight was beginning. Jake was in the fight after this, so I wasn't all that interested. Henry was in the fourth match so he may face off against Jake. Hunter was in the latter half of the matches so he would face off against Jake, maybe, in the finals.
The first match was between a Man named Rishi and another named Zac. Rishi was a overall buff man, he was a Beast-kin Brown Bear, and had scars all over. Zac was a unusual white Beast-kin Panther, he was muscular, and also had some scars.
"Fight!," The referee, Maleller shouted. He was alright in my books but, his brother, was not. He always had this sinister or evil aura, one could say, whenever I saw him. Watching the fight Zac was winning, but then after a single punch from Rishi, he fell down. "The, winner is, Rishi!," Maleller shouted.
I looked over and saw that Kamapuff had a sinister smile on his face. Why would he have that smile when someone got knocked out? Looking back Maleller is checking on Zac, when a troublesome look comes across his face. He calls some men over and they lift the man up, taking him away. What was it that he saw?
"Would Jake and Trinity please get in the Ring!," Kamapuff calls out once the ring is clear. Why, Maleller normally does this according to records. Jake steps up as does a fighter, she is in her twenties from the looks of it. She is a Dwarf so she has a higher muscle density than most. I wonder how this pair will turn out.
"Fight!," Maleller calls out and the fight commences. Trinity goes in with a right hook, but Jake takes his left hand and pushes it to the right side of himself. Then he proceeds with a Right hook of his own, to the stomach, knocking the other person out. What was that, that he was able to redirect an enemies punch? And it all happened in less than five seconds!
Narrator Pov:
What Aaron didn't know was that Jake knew most every type of martial arts. He had controlled the flow of power to dampen and redirect the attack. Thereby rendering his opponent useless for a second as they had to regain their balance. He had then proceeded with a strong right hook into the opponent who was still going forward. This increased the impact knocking Trinity out cold.
At this Kamapuff had a cold sweat going down his back. True he hadn't liked Zac, so he had him poisoned and killed. But he knew Zac was better than Rishi and Rishi was better than Trinity. Would Rishi even stand a chance in eliminating him? Is what was going through his head.
Maleller called the fight to the end and Kamapuff called the next two with the same face as he used for the others. Husna and Pauline were the next opponents, the battle would be drawn out. They were sisters and had similar characteristics. They were both Humans as well so they were not as strong as most.
While the fight was happening Kamapuff was thinking on another course of action. If the youngest was that good, how good was the older brother. Aaron was watching him without anyone seeing and was contemplating what his goals were. Theo was just watching the fight, not paying attention, Samuel was also watching the fight, doing the same thing.
Layla and Hannah were chatting and only Watched Jake's match. They had planned on only watching their friends matches to cheer them on. Maleller's children were bored and just continued to watch. This was a brawl so no Magic was allowed in it, the same for weapons, and poisons! Amanda was just serving Hannah and Layla, completely oblivious to the fights.
The fight ended, with no clear winner, so they were both disqualified. That meant that the next round would determine a Semi-finalist. Henry and a man Named Rubio were called up to fight. Rubio was a very buff human around six foot seven. The winner was obvious and Henry conceded knowing it was his loss.
The next couple of matches continues, most taking fifteen minutes, unlike the first two and the fourth. The winners were Alec in match five, Harvey in match seven, and Roy in match eight. Hunters had ended mysteriously for some odd reason.
Hunter was in the infirmary with the other nobles. He had restricted himself so he would have a tougher time. But he was also not totally immune to poisons, Susie was one of Kamapuff's men. He had poisoned him in a lucky punch, they couldn't exactly let him die.
No-one knew the cure except for Kamapuff, when he went into the infirmary he insulted Hunter. "I thought that someone who saved Royalty would be better than this," He had said. But the second he had said that, Jake let out murderous intent. Kamapuff fell to his knees as Jake stood over him, everyone else paralyzed.
But no-one reacted except Kamapuff. "Don't, insult my brother!," he said. The others had heard but didn't know what was going on. They could here, but could not tell how much time had passed. Jake was where he was by hunter, but Kamapuff had left.
Jake had used one of his Magics to freeze something. As he doesn't have Status magic yet, I cannot check what Magic it was. But after everyone, but Jake, had left, Jake did something. Next thing you know Jake is walking out with Hunter behind him as they sit down.
Kamapuff was puzzled, he was scared at the murderous intent from a child almost eight years old. Then the kids older brother who was ten, and poisoned, got up and walked out unscathed. His man had used a paralyzing poison that was supposed to render someone immobile for weeks. Yet it was already gone!
