Chapter 23 - Physical Assessment Test

"Wait, you said twins, right?" Director Ver did a second take as he asked Oswin.

"Yes old man. Why? Are you having ear problems as well due to aging?"

Smack!

"Why did you hit me?" Oswin exclaimed with a wronged expression.

Director Ver clicked his tongue and replied, "Because you keep talking nonsense."

Still, this exchange between the two of them was unnoticed by everyone even though they were still on the platform.

It was because they were both First Class Warriors possessing superhuman speed.

In addition, the trainees on the training ground haven't trained at all, making everything seem like an instance to their perception.

Except for Jin.

Jin, who was still listening to Instructor Agnes's speech, barely stopped himself from making a strange expression.

He didn't want any unnecessary attention from anyone, so he was careful in being noticed as someone odd.

'But why did Director Ver just smack Instructor Oswin on the head?' He thought silently as he maintained a calm expression on the outside.

As he grew up, his perception of the world was becoming stranger.

When he was 5, he remembered seeing his father train and the fact that they were very slow in his eyes.

Now, as he grew up, he noticed this innate ability of his becoming stronger over the course of years.

In the present, he can capture anything in his sight, nothing could escape his eyes.

Even the action of Director Ver smacking Instructor Oswin was seen by him in slow motion.

Of course, Jin could still perceive the world normally if he tried.

That's right, he needs to hold himself back slightly in order to perceive the world as it was.

Though he didn't know if this would still be the case in a few years.

"Hmm?" Director Ver noticed some peculiar change around the so-called twin of Leo, specifically the boy.

However, upon observing closely, he didn't notice anything strange.

'Must be my imagination.' He thought.

Then he turned towards Oswin and asked, "Their twins, right? Just how could they be so different from each other?"

Oswin answered in a whisper, "Old man, you know about Leo's wife, right?"

Director Ver pondered for a moment and replied, "Oh, the clever one? It's a pity she was born without an energy core and…"

With a look of realization, he continued, "You mean that the boy inherited her…"

Oswin nodded in answer before Director Ver could finish his sentence.

Director Ver just nodded silently and didn't say anything more. They also knew that Tiana had passed just a year ago and thought that it would be impolite to talk about her in secret.

Before long, Instructor Agnes finished her speech.

After the final remarks of Director Ver, all the children were asked to go to the location of the running track.

Although it wasn't that far away from where they had their assembly, it still took them a few minutes of walking.

Waiting there was Instructor Agnes, who was the last instructor to give her speech.

"Why are you all so slow!? I've been waiting here for decades!" She shouted loudly, making the children flinch in surprise.

'It's because you used you're able to use your aura and we couldn't…' The children muttered in their hearts.

As if she knew what they had in their minds, Instructor Agnes suddenly laughed in disdain, "Haha! You must think that I used my aura, right!?"

The children flinched again, 'She's crazy!!'

'Oh, you must be thinking that I'm crazy, huh!?' Instructor Agnes's eyes suddenly turned sharp.

This time, the children didn't dare think of anything, afraid that they would be seen through by this ruffian woman.

"Well, I don't care what wimps like you think. I'm here for one reason and one reason alone! To make you wimps into decent warriors!!!" She shouted unabashedly.

"If you wimps listened to what I said earlier, I'm your instructor for your Physical Training subject! And it will be the subject for your first day!" She continued while looking at each of the 200 children that enrolled.

Since the expanse of land at the running track was unusually big, it didn't have any problem accommodating this large number of children.

The children all discussed between themselves. They were briefed earlier that they would only have 1 subject per day.

The first day of the week would be Physical Fitness, then the next would be the day for their Aura Circulation class and finally, their Weapon Proficiency subject before the cycle repeats.

This was to ensure that the children would have sufficient time to rest. It was also because of the fact that they're still young and growing that they should not overwork their bodies.

After a short while, Instructor Agnes shouted again, "Since it's just your first day, we'll start by analyzing your physical fitness first."

She then pointed to the 10 devices that looked a little bit like weighing scales and explained with a clear voice, "What you're seeing here is an artifact called the Physical Assessment Device. It can provide accurate measurements of your Strength, Speed, Agility, Dexterity, and Stamina by grades of A, B, C, D, E, and F with A being the highest and F the lowest."

"This device will tell me just how much of a wimp you are! With this, your weaknesses and strengths will be known by me! Not that you have any strengths because you're just wimps!" She shouted with a grin on her face.

This grin almost made the children flip out and shout at her. Though there were also those, both boys and girls, whose eyes were starting to get teary because of her remarks.

However, Instructor Agnes didn't give a damn about them. Instead, she pointed at 10 children and shouted, "You lot, come forward and stand on these devices!"

Some of the few children that were called flinched a little before obediently stepping out of the crowd and making their way on their devices.

They then walked forward and stood on the Physical Assessment Devices.

"Stand straight!" Instructor Agnes ordered loudly.

Like cats whose tails were stepped on, the children went teary as they straightened their body.
