Chapter 24 - Anomaly

As soon as the children stood on the device, light blue mana circles rose from where they were standing.

It slowly scanned each part of their body from their feet and legs to their waist and their arms. Even their fingers weren't spared from being scanned.

Before long, the mana circles that were slowly scanning their body reached their head before going back to the device they were standing on.

Then after a moment, statistics showed up on the screen attached to the Physical Assesment Devices.

Instructor Agnes walked forward to the first of the 10 children who she called out and proceeded to read what was on the screen.

[Strength = F-

Speed = F

Agility = F

Dexterity = F

Endurance = F-

Stamina = F-

Overall Physical Assessment = F]

Looking at the instructor with a fiery temper in front of her, the brown haired girl gulped nervously.

She looked at the statistics showing on the screen and didn't know whether they were good or bad.

"Hmmm, are your parents hunters by any chance?" Unexpectedly, Instructor Agnes just posed a question instead of lashing out on them.

The girl nervously nodded in response.

Nodding slightly, Instructor Agnes stated, "Then that explains your less weak Speed, Agility and Dexterity attributes…"

From the stats she saw, Agnes guessed that the girl's parents were hunters and that she sometimes went out with her parents.

This led to some of her attributes being trained, resulting in them being stronger than the other attributes.

"Well, I must praise you for being less of a weakling than other weaklings… But it's still not enough!" Instructor Agnes then asked, "What's your name?"

The girl stuttered, "M-My name i-is Lucy, Instructor A-Agnes."

Instructor Agnes nodded slightly in response before walking to the next children.

She repeated her action of reading the individual stats of the children and criticizing them tirelessly.

"Luke, Overall Assessment = F-. Weak!"

"Patri, Overall assessment = F-. Weak!"

"Timo, Overall assessment = F-. Weak!"

The children's ears were getting numb from Instructor Agnes's voice. They even wondered how she was able to lash out at them tirelessly.

However, it was only their first day, so they felt unhappy that they would have to deal with her and her shouts for atleast a year.

Some thought about dropping out, but thinking of the expensive fees their parents paid, they decided to endure.

Instructor Agnes was now assessing the 9th batch of students.

Since there were around 200 children who enrolled, there would also be about 20 batches of trainees that would use the 10 Physical Assessment Devices.

A few minutes later…

Instructor Agnes was now assessing the 12th batch of trainees.

So far, most of the trainees had an overall assessment of F- while a few had F. She shook her head silently, thinking that the children nowadays were having too peaceful of a life which resulted in their weakness.

"Kyle, Overall Assessment = F. Still weak!"

"Lloyd, Overall Assessment = F-. Weak!"

"Anton… hmm?"

Just as she was reading the statistics of the  third trainee of the 12th batch, Instructor Agnes's brows rose in intrigue.

She looked at the black haired boy who had an aloof expression on his face and grinned, "You're the castellan's kid, right?"

The black haired boy remained aloof as he responded, "Yes."

The other children looked at the boy with an expression of awe.

Not only were they amazed at his status as Lord Axton's son, they were also amazed at his attitude towards the instructor.

[Strength = F+

Speed = F

Agility = F

Dexterity = F+

Endurance = F

Stamina = F+

Overall Physical Assessment = F+]

"Hmmm, it seems like you're father had trained you personally…" Instructor Agnes stated as she looked at the attributes shown on the screen.

The black haired boy, Anton, just grinned arrogantly in response.

"Unfortunately, this is too weak. Being trained exclusively by the castellan who was not only a Master Class Warrior, but also a Spearmaster, I've expected much more. I remember Aaron being much more talented…" Instructor Agnes shook her head with a disappointed expression.

Anton's expression froze as he lowered his head in embarrassment. He hated being compared to his elder brother the most.

Instructor Agnes paid him no heed and continued assessing the other children's attributes.

"Carter, Overall Assessment = F-. Weak!"

"Harper, Overall Assesment = F. Still weak!"

Around 30 minutes later…

Instructor Agnes was now assessing the 17th batch of trainees.

"Rowena, Overall Assessment = F. Still weak!"

"Toya, Overall Assessment = F-. Weak!"

Just as Instructor Agnes was about to assess the 5th trainee of the 17th batch, his white hair and pale complexion caught her eyes.

She frowned and asked, "Are you sure you wanted to enroll in this Training Center? The training exercise that I will make you lot do will be hard and judging by your physique and complexion, you might even die of exhaustion."

Her words made the children whisper among themselves with a scared expression.

Faced with her harsh words, Jin just smiled politely and bowed, "Thank you for caring, Instructor Agnes, but I'm fine."

Instructor Agnes raised her brows again, this showed how intrigued she was at the white haired boy.

She didn't persuade him any longer and looked at the screen on the device he was standing on.

However, she was shocked at what she saw.

Of course, she hid it and made sure that the children didn't notice a single thing.

Well, except for Jin.

[Strength = G+

Speed = G+

Agility = G+

Dexterity = #$%&

Endurance = G

Stamina = F-

Overall Physical Assessment = G+]

Looking at his attributes, Jin sighed with an unreadable expression. 'Even after all the training I've done since I was 5…'

Thinking of how he trained all those years, Jin felt a bit of despair.

Some had no energy core and energy circuits, but they were still able to train their physical body normally.

However, even that was deprived from him.

Still, he shook his head and cleared all those useless thoughts.

'I'll still do my best…' His eyes radiated determination. Then he thought curiously, 'But what's with my dexterity?'

What made Jin more curious was their instructor who was staring silently at his attributes.

'Is the device malfunctioning? But it was working well until now!' Instructor Agnes was going crazy in her mind.

She looked at the white haired boy who had a calm expression on his face and thought, 'Then there can only be one possibility… He's an anomaly…'
