"What is Blutheim, my lord?" Drey asked in a curious tone as he inched slightly closer.
"I don't see the reason telling you about the kingdom since your master doesn't seem intent on complying." Queen Aria said as she emptied two more bags. "So until Kyle is a full Vampire, you're not allowed to ask any questions that are related to me or the kingdom and you're not allowed to address me as Queen Aria, you can only refer to me as 'My Lord'. This applies to your master as well" My Lord said as she grabbed another two.
"Yes, My Lord." Drey said as he was unable to question it.
"You can have the rest" My Lord said before she emptied the two bags while pointing to the last two blood bags on the table so Drey and Melissa can take it.
"These are for you, My Lord, you can have it all." Drey declined as he stared at the blood.
"No, even servants need blood to get stronger and you two barely have the strength of even a lowly ghoul. So it's best if you drink up as well." My Lord insisted as she opened the fridge.
"…." Drey and Melissa stood quiet although they wanted to speak against her, it felt as if something was forcing them to stay quiet.
"Yes My Lord." Was the only thing Drey was able to say in that moment as Melissa and him grabbed the bags and ripped the top open.
"We're gonna have to hunt for the rest of our food when the sun sets. What time is the sunset?" My Lord asked as she shut the fridge.
"At 8 o'clock, My Lord." Drey said as his eyes glowed a pinkish red after he drank the blood while Melissa's eyes were a bright pink.
"And what time is it now?" My Lord asked.
"It just turned 6 o'clock." Drey answered as he put the empty bag on the table.
"Then you have enough time to show me around this city. After drinking that much blood we should be impervious to the sunlight for an hour or so." My lord said as she looked in the bottom cabinets.
Both Drey and Melissa looked at each other with their eyelids narrowed as if she said something nonsensical. They then turned to her but as she was crouched behind the counter looking through the bottom cabinets.
"Although the sun here can harm us if we drink the blood of the creatures who were created under this sun then we can be impervious to its effects but that depends on how much we take." My Lord explained as she broke a piece of wood off from the cabinet. "Where's the nearest cathedral?" My lord asked as she grabbed a knife.
"Yes, there's one just a couple blocks away from here." Drey answered.
"Then we have to go there before we hunt. I'm gonna try to turn this piece of wood into a little stake and bless it there." My Lord said as she sat down and started shaving off pieces of the wood. "For some odd reason they developed the idea that crosses and stakes weaken us. I wondered who thought of such a cartoonish idea." My lord said with a light chuckle.
"Those are our weaknesses. Are they not?" Drey asked as if he began to doubt whatever memories he had about vampires.
"No, of course not. Crosses actually strengthens us and helps gradually push the transformation of a vampire, and when the stake is blessed, it can cut through which allows our blood to release a pheromone when it gets in contact with the air. Very helpful in certain situations." My lord said in an almost soured tone as she chipped a piece of the wood off.
"Since you're currently using my master's body and have the urge to hunt in it, even if you are our lord." Drey said in a condescending way before continuing. "My master prefers to hunt inconspicuously to preserve his human identity and going to a church while he's a full vampire seems to be quite the opposite. We cannot allow you to leave and go against his wishes." Drey said as Melissa moved to the other side of the couch to completely block her off if she tried to leave.
"…" My Lord looked at them in a shocked tone as if that was the first time a servant stood against her. "Do you actually think you can stop me if I wanted to leave? Or Do you actually think you should?" My Lord said as she continued to focus on making the stake.
"We would have no choice but to." Drey said as he suddenly dropped the subservient tone.
"It's probably because it's been so long and I'm in this body but I wonder why your able to defy me so easily." My Lord said as she started shaping one of the ends into a point.
"My master is our top priority. Whatever you wish would have to go through my master first." Drey said as he began to watch her movements like he was wanting her.
"You know, your master can't stay like this for long, he's been treating this side of him like something that's outside of his body." My Lord said as she started sharpening the pointed end.
"He was raised and taught to love humans, he wouldn't want to go around just killing those who don't deserve it and he doesn't want to go around eating them to fulfill his hunger if there are other ways to do it." Drey argued as his tone dropped.
"You hold your master so high with human morality, do you actually think he cares about the human's he drinks from? I mean as full vampires yourself, you should know yourself the feeling and rush you get from drinking fresh blood straight from its source." My Lord as a smile appeared on her face as if she was getting excited about the thought of blood. "Tell me you don't think your master cares so much for humans, he's never even met. This kid don't care about the live stocks roaming about city, he only cares about what his friends and family think of him." Her voice seemed to grow sharper as she continued. "You think he was just a simple human who randomly started to turn into a vampire? " My Lord asked as she made the other end flat.
"...." Although Drey had no words to say to her, he and Melissa still stood against her.
"If you let him continue on like this, eventually he'll become nothing more than a mindless ghoul with a hunger that can never be satiated, he'll suffer for centuries or until he's been hunted down for the havoc that he causes." My Lord said as finally finished the stake and held it at an angle to make sure there were no mistakes. "I personally cannot allow him to sink so low but if you're subservient to your master, blinds you from his health so you could follow orders then I can't allow you to continue as his servant any longer." My lord said as she finally looked up at Drey but it was like she acknowledged them as enemies instead of friends as she stared straight into his eyes.
But once Drey and Melissa heard about the inevitability of their master's current state, they were convinced and given the amount of knowledge My Lord seems to have of vampires, they had no choice but to comply with her to keep Kyle from turning into a mindless ghoul. Drey and Melissa looked at each other as if they wanted to discuss what she said, although there seemed to be no need for a discussion of something that has such an obvious answer to it. Still they didn't know how long he had or how much blood he had to consume.
"We can't deny what you say and we can't believe it either but-" Drey was abruptly cut off as My Lord spoke up.
"Didn't you feel it today when he was in the car earlier? How he was suddenly in constant pain. If I hadn't taken over when I did, his brother would've lost his head." My Lord said as she started carving patterns into the stake.
"Well I did have a bad feeling after he told us to get rid of the motorcycle but then it went away." Drey said as his eyes wondered as if he was trying to gather his thoughts. "How much time does he have?" Drey asked.
"Approximately 2 and a half years left until his transformation into a ghoul begins and 3 years until he completely begins. The longer we take the more painfully insatiable his hunger becomes." My Lord explained.
"How much blood does he need?" Drey asked as if he was ready to go immediately.
"He only needs 50,000 liters of blood." My Lord said as she saw Melissa's body seemingly jump in shock.
