"I should be the one asking that question. What the hell do you think you're doing in my car?" Vana also yelled right back in a completely convincing and authoritative tone, going as far as to drag the driver to the floor near the boot before finally letting him go.
"Thief…you're a thief right. I'm calling the cops this instant…" Van continued speaking while also moving at lightning speed.
He grabbed the suitcase on the car and hurriedly tossed it under the seat directly in front of the seat beside that of the driver.
The one in front of where Devin was supposed to sit, the moment he poked his head into the car looking around with a righteous expression like he was trying to make sure that nothing of his was stolen.
"You even dressed so well…" Vana said and continued with the ruse.
"Well…bad news is that you're going to jail,"
By then, the driver had already gotten to his feet, dusting the scuffs of dirt off his suit and clothes, with a fierce glare on his face, that showed that he was ready to pounce on Vana.
"Are you drunk? I have the keys to this car and was about to start it. You're the one going to jail for assault and stupidity…" He yelled in anger, not at all scared of Van's huge statue which had definitely caught him off guard since even though he was simply a driver as someone that worked close to the CEO, he had also been trained.
"Oh really…then maybe when we go to the police station you"lol explain how you…" he continued talking only to paise with an expression of shock when his gaze landed on the plate number as he stood right beside the boot where the driver was.
"Oh my god…" in an aghast tone and an expression of horror, slightly overreacting for someone with his aura and body size.
"This isn't my car…oh sir…I really apologize…" he instantly said going as far as to bow as low as possible, while gritting his teeth in slight fear.
When he had changed the timer, he had been in too much of an hurty and had set it for thirty minutes which meant that he couldn't keep the driver there any more than he had already done, which was why he went as far as to bow his head, another thing he had never had to do in his life.
The driver though wasn't having it, and he opened his mouth prepared to spit out all the insults stored in his belly when he suddenly felt his phone vibrating in his pocket.
He checked it, and was instantly jerked back to reality, shocked to see three missed calls there, something that was never supposed to happen.
Again, he wanted to curse at Vana who continued to stand there with his head bowed in apology, something that only served to annoy him more since he felt that he was being mocked and not actually receiving a sincere apology.
Still, with no other choice left, he jumped into his car and hurriedly drove away even as Vana quickly moved sideways to avoid being hit.
"If not that I know you're a dead man, you'll definitely be on top of my to-kill list…" Vana whispered to himself even as he hurriedly rushed out of the underground park to confirm with his own eyes that Devin was indeed moving to enter the car.
The moment Vana watched him enter, a satisfied smile appeared on his face, one that only grew bigger as he watched the car drive off, until he could no longer see any signs of it.
"Mission Completed," he muttered under his breath, bringing out his phone to give Sephra the good news.
….
"....I apologize for being late Mr Devin," his driver sincerely begged for the second time even after Devin already explained that it was fine, something he didn't believe as he continues to apologize even as he drove.
He was aware that Devin made no exceptions and didn't give room for mistakes. Even if he had a good reason to be late…then it was simply his bad luck, and he definitely didn't want such people around him.
"I heard you the first time…Rowen…Rohan…Ro,"
"It's Roland Sir.."
"Yeah…that. I've heard you and I've already accepted your apology. Now, will you stop talking or continue to disturb me until we get to our destination…" Devin told him in a tone that betrayed the slight annoyance he felt as he sat there, staring at the tab in his hand that displayed the latest news of AQI's downfall.
Of course, firing his driver was something he had already decided the moment he was unreachable after one of his bodyguards had tried calling him a few seconds before he left the building.
With how precious his time was, the fact that all he was willing to do to the driver was simply fire him was enough to show how beneficent he was.
After he had been warned, Roland the driver kept quiet and drove like he normally did but the dissatisfaction in his heart was mighty.
"I'm going to get fired, I'm sure of it…"
"This damn boss of mine, does seven years of dedication mean nothing to him…" he cursed in his heart, recalling how he started working for him the moment he had to drop out.
I'm going to be thirty soon. Where the hell am I going to find a job that pays as much as he does.
He was still thinking whether or not to stubbornly open his mouth for the third time and beg when he unexpectedly heard his boss's voice from behind him.
"What's this…" Devin suddenly asked pulling out a briefcase for Roland to see, from under the seat in front of him, one he had mistakenly knocked his legs against.
"Wha…WHAT?" Roland gasped in obvious fear, slowing the car down as he checked the rear view mirror to see Devin holding a big shiny briefcase in his hand.
"I…I checked the entire car. That wasn't there…"
"Well, this suitcase feels pretty real to me," Devin responded with a clearly annoyed expression on his face, right before he tossed the suitcase to the seat in front of him, the one right next to the driver.
Roland glanced at it, unable to say another word as he continued to steadily drive, now completely sure that he was definitely going to get fired and there was absolutely nothing that could change it.
"How the hell did the suitcase get there?" He wondered to himself intermittently glaring at the suitcase even as he continued driving.
He continued driving in low spirits while Devin simply lowered his head back down towards the tab he was staring at when suddenly a loud popping sound echoed through the entire car, loud enough to grab both the attention of the occupants in the vehicle.
"Ack…" Roland choked, shocked to feel something suddenly descend on him, painfully slithering through his eyes, nose and mouth, without him being able to do anything about it.
Devin's head snapped up in shock, feeling the car begin to dangerously veer off the road in a way that made him fear for his life.
"What the hell are you…" were the words at the edge of his lips, only to swallow them up the second he saw his driver digging his hands right into his eyes and ears until blood seeped out, while uttering a piercing scream.
"Ahhh…get it off me…get it off me,"
