Chapter 4 - O239

Holi instantly got up to answer it, stepping to the side to allow the huge thug-looking man with a deep scar on his forehead to enter.

He was more than twice Holi's size, with bulgy arm and leg muscles that showed how much he enjoyed working out, even with the expensive-looking suit he wore.

"Boss…you called," Vana said not taking a step away from the door to follow right behind Holi even after Holi closed it and walked back to where Sephra was sitting.

"I know. It just so happened that I discovered a long old rat in my house, one that I was formerly too blind to see," Sephra replied taking another sip from his cup when as she raised his head to stare at the ceiling, the expression on his face completely hidden to be read.

"Wow…It sounds like a job for me. I'm good at finding rats," Vana replied starting right at Holi who although had a calm expression on his face, couldn't stop his fingers from trembling slightly in fear.

"I'm even better at killing them…" Vana continued and looked like he would have said more when Sephra suddenly lowered his head and stared straight at Holi, looking dead into his eyes.

"How long have you worked for him?" Sephra asked in a gentle voice with undulating waves underneath it.

By then the look of fear on Holi's face finally began to stream out in waves and even his eyes showed a little panic as he listened to Sephra continue to speak without paise, not giving him a chance to respond.

"How long have you worked for Devin? I recall you worked in the company for years before you were recommended by Holland, which makes me wonder just how deep the rot in my company truly is…"

Right as Sephra finished speaking allowing an atmosphere full of silence to fill the air, Vana suddenly left his post by the door and began taking long strides forward and in Holi's direction.

At that moment, a holi completely lost the calm countenance he was pretending to have as a wave of panic settled on him.

"Boss…I would never betray you. I've spent decades under you. What could CEO Devin possibly offer me?" Holi cried and Sephra simply nodded as he agreed.

"That question has been on my mind since you made the error of calling him Boss Devin, almost like you were used to doing so. To think that without such a time error, I would have had no idea…"

"Boss Sephra…you have to believe in me. Like you said it's an error…AN ERROR!" He said, his voice getting tinier and more high pitched the closer Vana got to him even as he continued to back away, not daring to turn his back on Vana, who stalked him like prey.

"Boss…" Vana suddenly called out in a way that made it clear that he was asking for instructions.

A complicated look flashed on Sephra's face as he stared at Vana who was about to pounce on Holi, his assistant who had been with him for over a decade.

He wanted him to live but the second he recalled how he was losing his company and everything he had built because of him, a nasty sneer sprung up on his face as he opened his mouth and gave Vana his command.

"Kill him…" Sephra's cold tone rang across the room and in the next second both Holi and Vana sprang into action.

"Boss…" Holi cried instantly dashing in Sephra's direction unable to think of what else could possibly save him.

But way before he could make it through the small distance between them Vana got to him in a flash, slamming the entire weight of his body through him, hard enough for to bring him down to the floor.

"Aarrhh…" Holi cried doing his best to cover his head with his arms only to feel Vana's huge hands on his neck the very next second.

"No…"

"Snap…" Vana snapped Holi's neck like a twig, tossing a disgusted look at his stiff corpse before getting to his feet.

Sephra also glanced at Holi's dead body with slight disappointment on his face one that Vana briefly felt was directed to him, as he instantly frowned in displeasure.

"I could have made his death more painful but I figured you would want to eliminate the possibility of anyone hearing his screams…" he explained.

Sephra simply nodded and granted the glass cup behind and sipped a little more of its contents right before he went ahead to speak.

"My company is dying and I probably won't make it through the whole scandal. Devin wouldn't just let things go. I'm sure he has another plan to destroy me completely in a way that I wouldn't be able to ever get back on my feet…" Sephra said and Vana simply shrugged with an unconcerned look on his face.

To him, it wasn't his business what happens to his boss or whether or not he was attacked. As long as he did the job he was hired for and he got paid in full, nothing else mattered to him.

"So what exactly do you want me to do about it?"

"I want him out of the way but we'll do it my way," Sephra asked as a wide smirk appeared on his face and he downed the contents of his drink in one go, getting to his feet the next second.

He walked towards his table under Vana's attentive gaze and dialed some numbers on the phone hearing the person on the other side pick up the next instant.

"O239…" he called out in a deep loud voice, satisfied to hear a long beep followed by the voice of the person he wanted to speak to.

Speaking without waiting for the person on the other end to speak.

"Send a prototype of the drug to my office…" he demanded in a commanding voice that left no room for a discussion.

"But…" the person on the other end began only to receive an even louder yell and order.

"Command code 0239 belonging to Sephra Klone. I repeat send a prototype of the AB drug to my office this instant.." he yelled before pressing the red button on the phone, instantly missing the feeling of the old office phones, which allowed him to slam the receiver down in anger.
