Chapter 3 - Vana Arrives

"DRIVE!"

The cold tone of his boss and the high pitched yell was enough to jerk the dazed driver who had been on his way to sleepy land awake.

He started the car and began driving and for a couple of seconds, he didn't dare to ask about their next destination as he simply drove.

From the rear view mirror, one glance at his bosses expression was enough to tell him that a wrong word and he would loss his job that very day.

So for a while, he slowly drove, amidst the teeth gritting noises that came from the backseat behind him.

He drove around for a while, hoping that his boss, Mr Sepha would notice what he was doing but when it became obvious that his mind was lost somewhere else, Kio finally felt it was time to ask.

"Boss, I'm driving back to the Company," He half whispered only to silently continue to drive in the direction he said he was driving even after he got no response, not brace enough to open his mouth to repeat what he said a second time.

"That Bastard!" he heard his boss growl under his breath and Kio pushed down the urge to step on the accelerator, one that would ensure his survival and his separation from his monstrous boss once they got to the destination as he continued to the steady pace he usually drove in.

Finally, they got to their destination right in front if the entrance of the company where even more bodyguards that those that accompanies Devin appeared to shield Sephra from all sides, especially from the reporters that were hanging around the entranced and instantly swarmed to him the momowmt his car came to a standstill and he stepped out.

"CEO Sephra…is it true that AQI is truly going under and if yes…how soon should we be expecting the shares to crash completely?"

"CEO…CEO Sephra…There are rumors going on about your new drug, some people are already referring to it as the new doomsday drug. What are your comments on this?"

"CEO…just one question please! The DSC are already investigating all the other drugs related to your company and people seem to have lost faith completely in any drug carrying your company's name, How do you feel about your sudden downfall?"

Sephra simply gritted his teeth together as he followed the path his bodyguards cleared for him cursing a certain somebody in his heart as he made his way to the lobby of the company and up the Elevator to the topmost floor where his office as the CEO was located leaving all his bodyguards behind.

"Holi…" He hollared at the top of his voice the second he stepped out of the elevator only to find out that he didn'y need to since the person he was looking for was already waiting right in front of the elevator for him.

Yet, this fact only seemed to piss him off even more as he glared at Holi, who contrary to his his boyish name was a fourty year old man who had spent more than a decade under Sephra.

If Sephra was a raging flame, then coupled with the glasses he wore on his face, his entire was as calm and unwavering as stone.

"Follow me…" he ordered in a deep tone, as he walked steadily right into his office, but not before glancing at his secretary's post which was empty, something he seemed to have expected.

He flopped down into the couch in his huge office and instantly stretched out his hand to grab the transparent bottle with a gold liquid content, pouring himself a cup before downing it all in one gulp, while Holi waited quietly by the side until he was done.

"Tell me…is the situation any better?"

"No."

"So it's worse…"

"Yes.." Holi instantly responded with a calm expression on his face one that seemed to get on Sephra's nerves as he clenched his fingers tightly around the empty glass cup in his hands, an additional squeeze away from be breaking it when he suddenly let it go.

"You're my personal assistant, Holi. Do you think there's anyway of getting out of this?" Sephra asked in a more mellow tone that was the closest he would ever come to begging, raising his eyes up to meet Holi's own.

He watched Holi, stare at him for a few seconds almost like he was deep in thought only for him to shake his head before finally opening his mouth to speak.

"No, Boss Sephra. I don't think there's anyway for AQI to avoid going under especially since Boss Devin had rejected your proposal for help," Holi replied, no trace of anxiety or fear in his voice or expression when he replied.

A few seconds of stony silence filled the air before Sephra finally opened his mouth to speak.

"Call Vana…"

It was shocking how two words instantly had a massive reaction on Holi's unconcerned face as he went from a state of extreme calm to one of obvious panic.

"Vana…you want me to call Vana?" Holi asked watching as Sephra nodded and simply moved his hands over to pour himself another drink, one he slowly sipped the second time around, as his gaze slowly slide across Holi's body who looked uncomfortable as he picked up his phone and dialed the number there, saying a few words before snapping his phone shut.

"Take a seat, while we wait. Do you want a drink?" Sephra gently asked but a clear expression of curiosity suddenly flashed across Holi's face wanting nothing more than to ask his boss why he had suddenly asked him to call Vana, who he was almost sure was a hit man on his bosses payroll, but he didn't and gently shook his head to show that he wasn't interested in a drink.

"More for me…" Sephra replied, filling his glass cup all over again, the moment he was done drinking the one in his cup.

Together, with Sephra sitting on a couch and Holi sitting in front of him, they waited for Vana to arrive.

They had barely waited for ten minutes when a sudden knock was heard on the door of the office.
