Chapter 54 - End of the meeting

Hawk furrowed his brow, his voice heavy with concern. "So what you're saying is your grandson is missing, and there's a high chance that he was taken by the beast and is still alive? But how can you accept this so easily? How could he still be alive when we don't even fully understand what we're dealing with? This all feels eerily similar to the time when the first ravagers appeared."

In fact, it was the worst when the first ravager appeared. Many lives were ascended to death without even knowing the cause of death. An unkillable creature appeared out of nowhere and destroyed many armies, and every powerful being was struck in awe.

Grandpa Max, his face etched with worry but a spark of determination in his eyes, responded firmly, "But this time it's different. We have people who can deal with it."

Hawk's gaze sharpened a mix of disbelief and frustration evident in his eyes. "Wait, if the creature has escaped, then where is it heading?"

Grandpa Max glanced around, his expression grim, yet resolute. "We didn't find anything wrong with the satellites monitoring the surrounding city."

Layla, who had been silent until now, stepped forward. Her face was pale, her eyes wide with a mixture of fear and realization. She spoke in a trembling voice, "Then it leaves only one place... the Great Forest."

The great forest was horror for a normal civilian it contained the beasts and creatures that could kill without even letting know their cause of death. In its heart lays the mystery as up to now only 47% of the forest was explored by the military and data was recorded. It was not that they were evading it but the root cause lay deep and hidden by the mystery of great forest remain unsolved.

Hawk turned to her, his eyes narrowing. "The Great Forest... If that's true, then we need to act fast. We can't let this turn into another catastrophe."

"The Great Forest," Grandpa Max replied, his voice barely above a whisper. "It always comes back to the Great Forest. But there's more you need to know. There was a man, a scientist, who managed to escape from the lab before everything went to hell. He might have crucial information about what exactly we are dealing with."

Hawk's eyes narrowed. "A man escaped? How did he manage that?"

Grandpa Max sighed his expression a mix of regret and determination. "He used a teleportation device. It was a prototype, something they had been working on in secret. The device was supposed to be used for emergencies, and he took the opportunity to get out before it was too late."

Layla looked intrigued. "Do we know where he went?"

Grandpa Max shook his head. "Unfortunately, no. The teleportation device was experimental, and its coordinates could be randomized to prevent tracking. But if he survived, he might still be out there, and he might hold the key to understanding the beast and how to stop it."

Hawk clenched his fists, his mind racing with possibilities. "We need to find him. If there's even a chance he can help us, we can't let it slip away."

The room fell silent, the gravity of the situation hanging heavy in the air. Hawk could feel the weight of responsibility pressing down on him. The first time the ravagers appeared, they had been caught off guard, and the devastation was unimaginable. They couldn't afford to make the same mistakes again.

"Max," Hawk said, his voice low but firm, "we need to mobilize a team immediately. We can't waste any time."

Grandpa Max nodded in agreement. "Indeed. And there's one more thing. The last time we faced the ravagers, we lost a lot of good people. We can't afford to be unprepared this time. We need to gather all the information we can, arm ourselves with the best technology, and be ready for anything."

Layla's face hardened with resolve. "Then we start with the Great Forest. If that's where the beast is headed, we need to make arrangements. We'll search for any clues about the escaped scientist along the way."

Hawk placed a reassuring hand on her shoulder. "Agreed. We'll mobilize immediately. Everyone, our main mission is finding the Boy. We leave no stone unturned."

Everyone slowly started leaving leaving only Hawk and the holographic image of Grandpa Max nodded and commented. "I'll contact the necessary people. But Hawk, there's something you should know. My grandson, he's... special."

Hawk raised an eyebrow, curiosity piqued. "Special? In what way?"

Max took a deep breath as if steeling himself to reveal a long-held secret. "He's been showing signs of abilities, things I can't explain. Ever since his birth. Everything is a mystery."

Hawk's eyes widened in surprise. "Abilities? Like what?"

Grandpa Max shook his head. "I'm not entirely sure. But whatever they are also it will be best if you keep this information with you only ."

Grandpa Max wasn't unaware of Alex while he was training him he was able to say that within him lays something dormant other than their power which he is not sure of. Which itself was a shock for Hawk despite being animosity toward Max he knew who was he was a person who was easily able to scan any person's limits and potential which ca,e from great experience and he himself was unsure of something that generates many questions regarding Alex.

knowing something was amiss in this whole situation hawk with his doubts and nodding exits the underground lab.

{A/N - I was on a long holiday and now I am back but I will continue this book up to 100 chapters if gets proper review and gets contracted. I will continue with great work and if not. I will just focus on my new book. It's not like I am leaving but let me tell this is one of my very first works so I will think but you know there is no need to kick a bucket that is already empty. I know the world development and power introduction are not good well what do you accept from a new author I realized these myself and strive to work on them. ;}
