Chapter 60 - Legendary Incoming

The Aeronauts were known to rule the skies and their main specialty which made them different from normal humans was the presence of wings on their back which gave them the ability to fly. They live on the sky island their influence over the world. They were the ones to hate the most were the Terrans and Aquarins and their always conflict between the three of them.

They were always ready to start the fight from a slight provocation currently one of them was present in front of Alex dead with a huge gap in his chest obliterated by an ice spike. Alex's breath came out in frosty puffs as he knelt to examine the Aeronaut's body more closely. The feathers on the wings were dense and a striking mix of black and brown, each meticulously groomed even in death. Strips of brown cloth were interwoven among the feathers, likely part of the Aeronaut's attire or armor, designed to allow protection and flight flexibility.

It was the first time Alex had seen them carefully examining the dead body Alex forgot to even watch his surroundings which were covered completely by ice.

Alex's mind raced with questions. Who or what had the power to defeat an Aeronaut in such a manner? What had happened here, and why was he, a mere human, now standing on this icy battlefield?

A shiver ran down Alex's spine, not entirely from the cold. He saw his surroundings then he remembered the sign that he had seen before but now standing in the middle Alex was able to feel that something was attracting or calling him suddenly.

When Alex moved and stood at the corner of the ice field he saw a dome-shaped at the center where most of the trees were frozen and covered with white but amidst this snow was falling from the sky only at that particular location.

Entrapped by the strange phenomenon Alex came to a stop in his motion he was near the dome shape which looks a cave whose inside instead of being dark was brighter blinding Alex to forcing his eyes shut.

Suddenly a voice similar to a woman's rang Alex watched his surroundings to find someone but there was no one other than the strange cave.

"Boy follow the light" Alex found the voice heavy but the voice was very seductive only the voice would be enough for them to become a dog wailing its tail in front of its owner.

Alex was not in a hurry but after a thought, Alex actually was very first time found something to which he himself was attracted. Alex just wanted to know why was he so attracted.

To know the mystery Alex went inside the cave as he entered the cave Alex's eyes adjusted to the brightness Alex was Able to see the light was coming from a crystal pond.

But Alex's vision quickly focused on a beast beside the pond, severely injured, blood seeping from its every inch, breathing ice-cold waves.

The beast spoke, its voice a rasping whisper, "Boy, you came at the wrong time."

Before Alex could react, a wave of icy power slammed into him, freezing him slowly from the outside in. His body flew back, crashing into the ground as ice crept over his limbs, immobilizing him. Silence settled over the scene, the beast's labored breaths the only sound.

The beast, despite its grievous state, exuded a majestic aura. It was a legendary Ice Guardian, a creature of myth and power. Its form was a blend of elegance and ferocity, a massive body covered in scales that shimmered like diamonds under the icy light. Its eyes, a deep blue, glowed with ancient wisdom and pain. Large wings, now tattered and broken, lay flat against its sides, and its breath came out in visible puffs of cold air.

Her voice, though weak, carried authority. "I did not expect a human to find this place," she said, her tone a mix of curiosity and resignation. "But it seems fate has brought you here."

Alex, struggling against the encroaching ice,

" Before you die boy let me tell you I am Seraphina, the Ice Guardian," she said and the beast, Seraphina, began to change. Her massive, scaled form shimmered and glowed, shrinking and shifting until, standing before him, was a woman.

She had icy white hair that flowed like a waterfall down her back, shimmering with a silvery hue. Her skin was pale, almost translucent, and her eyes retained the deep blue glow that marked her as the Ice Guardian. She wore a simple, flowing gown that seemed to be made of ice

she continued "I protect the balance of this forest...?" suddenly her face lost its light

as the frozen Alex's body seemed to move also her condition only worsened forcing her to seize her current action she coughed more brutally lost her footing and fell her wounds reappeared she lost her beast form and all injuries reappeared.

Unable to comprehend she voices hoarsely "What's happening? " Her face became surprised when she watched Alex's body slowly releasing a purple hue and behind him the the dragon's image appeared.

" so you are one of them but not corrupted what a surprise for this 10000-year-old lady to see " she with irritated voice commented to Arin who was standing near her who has lost her all strength once the legendary beast lay on the ground counting her last breath.

Her face, though beautiful, was etched with pain and exhaustion. She looked at Alex with a mixture of sorrow and determination. "I was about to devour you to heal my injuries," she confessed, her voice now gentle and melodic. "You are special, boy."

Alex stared at her, he knew already what she was doing in memories of Wind Drake she had already seen a beast doing the same thing.

Seraphina coughed a pained sound that echoed through the cave. "I don't have enough life left in me," she said, her voice weakening. "I am about to die, and my child is still to see this world." She coughed again, more violently this time. "But who would have thought my weakness would be exploited by the sky people, the Aeronauts, who attacked me to capture me?"

Alex was stoic and only said " why should I save someone who was trying to kill me? "
