Chapter 2 - Creation I

"You know, even though I find it crazy that such a fantasy world actually exists, in reality, is crazy but at the same time, I expected something like this to happen. Or maybe I hoped that something like this would happen." I said after recovering from that bomb that was dropped on my head.

"Oh? What do you mean? Why'd you say that?" The man said while staring at me with ever-growing interest.

You know I just realized I never asked for this guy's name. Maybe I just thought he was one of those overly-arrogant and egotistical higher beings who be taking the simplest things as the most egregious offenses and overreacting completely.

But this guy seems pretty chill. Well at least he's humble I guess.

"I've never asked for your name you know?" I inquired, "We could at lead introduce ourselves to each other since it seems we're about to talk about something very serious."

He smiled, "I never introduced my name because there was no point in me doing so as you'll see right now. But if you want to know that bad my name is Damien, and your name is?"

"Nice meeting you Damien, my name is...my name is-" I froze in shock as my mind completely blanked out every time I was about to introduce my name, it was like every time I would try to remember the memory would get blurrier and blurrier until it seemed that it didn't even exist in the first place.

"My name!" I howled in disbelief at what was happening "I forgot my damn name!"

Damien nodded, seemingly expecting this outcome, "Exactly. The Transmigration process has already started the second your soul entered limbo. From this point on everything about your past life will be meaningless. You will still remember some things like how your world looked like and how society but other than that everything else will be gone." He explained grimly.

Feeling my mind almost stop from the shock it quickly disappeared as a layer of cold indifference formed over my face.

There was no point crying over shit that was already done. Almost all memories of my past life were gone and I wasn't getting them back anytime soon, the most important thing now was to see if I could gain any type of advantage or head start in the novel world of Blood of Darkness.

That world is absolutely cruel and unforgiving. If I go in there with absolutely nothing then I was going to die within a week for sure and that was the absolute best thing I could hope for if I ended up in a situation like that.

I sighed, "Well there's no use crying over something that's already done. So? What advantage or cheat are you going to bless me with before sending me into that hell?" I asked.

Damien tilted his head to the side as if he was a confused child, "The fuck are you talking about?"

Annoyance and anger bubbled up within me before I quickly calmed back down, not falling into his obvious trap, "Don't fuck with me. You obviously chose me to be your champion for whatever game you and your colleagues have amongst each other. You clearly have to give me an advantage by default and that is especially so if you're going to send me into a world like Neo-Oblivion." I argued. Me having an advantage should be part of the damn starter pack. I shouldn't be asking for it.

Damien's eyes opened wide before he burst out in laughter then even I could feel was drenched in disdain and scorn, "It seems that you're not one of those incompetent transmigrators after all, but that will only get you so far boy."

"You gonna speak something that is actually important to just keep going around in circles?" I responded in irritation.

"Oh, so we got one who does have buttons we can push eh?" He chuckled, "Well to start off you're right you have been chosen to be a part of this game that is taking place right now. But if you think you were chosen to be a champion of my master or anyone of his peers then you need to take a long look in the mirror. You aren't even qualified to be a shit stain that he can step on, let alone be his footstool or champion. What the hell can you do that can draw their attention as a worthless mortal?! A mere human at that?! Tone down your conceit." He commanded as an ice-cold aura bathed the void we were floating in.

My breath seemed to be pulled out of my lungs as an insurmountable pressure landed on my shoulders and my body went completely stiff.

Damien sensing more ordeal appeared in front of my face with a smile of satisfaction plastered on his face, "See? This is what your mortals are only good for, being very amusing toys. What a joke to think that a little plaything like you would be fit to be a champion for my master-"

"Cut the shit." I brutally cut off with unknown courage as everything went numb and my mind seemed to blank out but still being able to be aware of everything that was going on, "You really expect me to believe that I was just picked to be just a plaything? Even if I was do you think that I'm going take that lying down? Did you think I would get on my hands and knees, kiss your feet and say 'Thank you, My Lord'? tone down your pointless arrogance you service dog."

"I truly believe that whoever owns you and their peers choose mortals from other worlds and have brought them into this game only to suffer and be broken for their amusement, satisfaction to entertainment. That I a hundred percent believe without a doubt, but if I'm one of them why am I being given an introduction and explanation of what is going on?" I questioned, enjoying the bitter look on his face at being called a dog, "Shit makes no sense if you ask me. I mean look at how overbearing, arrogant, and offended you were when I assumed that I was a champion for your master or his peers. There's no way that a toy would be fit to be in your presence as you would disdain such a task and you would have them sent in Neo-Oblivion with no help and leave them to fall prey to that dark society." I explained.

"That's true but that doesn't change the fact that you are still among-"

"See! Your dumbass just proved my point." I cut in once again, "But instead of ruthlessly being sent there with no help or explanation without a thought in mind I was immediately brought here and I'm talking to you instead. That only means one of two things: I'm either a champion, something close to it, or whatever the fuck criteria it is to gain the attention of your master and whoever else is of his caliber or everyone else but your master saw me as nothing a decided to take a gamble with me. I would say that one of his peers saw something in me but if that were the case I would be taking to whatever service dogs they have instead of you. That or I would be smuggled into the reincarnation wheel of this world through other means behind everyone else's back."

My theory was proven to be correct by the irate look Damien was giving me but that was cut off as a stampeding wave of despair engulfed me with a single threat from him, "That's true but then again what's stopping me from resigning you to the fate of plaything? You are only just one mortal that hasn't shown anything of promise or potential yet so none of them are going to step in and save you. They might not even know that this conversation is happening right now and even if they are what makes you so sure that they are paying attention to it? I'm the one in control of the transmigration not them so why should I help you and not let you suffer?" he questioned with a dark smirk on his face as his eyes shined with glee.

But contrary to his expectations not only did I not squirm in fear or plead for him to forgive my previous insults towards him I even laughed and smiled at him with a glare of madness, "Because even you are interested in what chaos I'm going to cause when I get there." I revealed with a light laugh.

Damien eyes widened as whatever illusion he had cast on this void faded and his true form was revealed.

Instead of a handsome man with golden hair and eyes whose mere voice would make one want to put all their trust and faith in him. In its place was a devilishly handsome man with purple hair and red eyes.

He clapped his hands in nodded in approval that seemed genuine, completely opposite from the arrogant and haughty attitude he was giving earlier, "I have to say that I'm impressed, truly I am. It seems he might've been right when he chose you." He said with a dark smile.

But before I could begin to ask who he was talking about and who he really was he continued, "I'll give a good reward so you can't say that I didn't fuck you over when you die," he said as he waved his hand and a bright screen appeared in front of me, Illuminating the previous void space.

My eyes focuses sternly when I examined the screen and saw a list of questions and answers. Each question had multiple choices for answers, some had more than others.

"Choose Wisley." The stoic voice of 'Damien' echoed, "Your choices will determine what paths are open to you and what paths will remain closed unless you find another way."
