Chapter 6 - Awakening I

After recovering fully from the assimilation of memories I got up from the floor and went straight back to bed to go back to sleep.

I still felt tired when I first got up out of bed but due to me not knowing where I was adrenaline that came from worry, confusion, and fear wiped any sense of tiredness away. But after the assimilation that tiredness came back like a truck and it came back worse than before. I struggled to even get up to my feet, let alone make it back to the bed.

But after finding out what memories I got from the assimilation I couldn't help but have a grin stuck on my face. The pain was worth it, most definitely worth it.

Neo-Oblivion is a world that is even bigger than the sun of the Solar System back on Earth and even the smallest continent here was four to five times bigger than Russia.

The energy that was used for magic in this world was called Gamma, a different and unique word compared to the usual Mana or Qi in other power-based hierarchy novels but that was what the energy was called in Blood of Darkness.

The body of the name I created, Zaire Tiji, who I can only assume was a high-class tier family that was a complete extra in the story since there was absolutely no mention of any person by my name in the novel was fifteen years old.

This only meant one thing based on the current circumstances: I was transmigrated to a point in time before the story began.

In the story, everyone who was of high ranking in society was required to go through an awakening at the age of sixteen. This was when the body would be able to absorb gama without any risk of injury or death.

Gama was a volatile energy that was very hard if not impossible to control at any age younger than sixteen but just like in my past society, power and influence could get you anything you want if you had enough of it.

The Royals and Nobles found out that you could actually successfully awaken at fifteen if certain requirements were met, one of them being enough body conditioning and tempering.

When this was discovered many of the higher society started making their kids choose their profession from ages as young as seven to even five and began to put them through intense training based on the said profession. Sometimes the noble scions didn't even have the options and would have to follow family traditions based on the ancestry of their family or clan.

The Tiji Family, the high-class family I was born into was a family that let their kids choose their profession, although based on their ancestry it seemed that they had both warriors and mages in their families.

They were based in the city of Blüdhaven which was not far from the Royal Capital of the continent Atlantica which was located in the northeast region of Neo-Oblivion.

I, who was the youngest of four children in the Tiji Family just turned fifteen today, meaning that later today I would be taken to go awaken.

Turns out that Zaire coincidentally chose Assassin training and went through some of the best yet most rigorous training possible for a kid of his age. I don't know if his performance was enough to consider him a prodigy but his talent was most certainly high, high enough to be completely accepted by his family, even though he was the only child out of the four who wasn't born from Duke Tiji's wife.

"Based on the current situation of things there should still be several months before the story truly begins. That should be enough for me to gain a decent amount of strength before I proceed to get sent to Nightfall." I mumbled before going back to sleep.

...

...

...

Waking up to the bright sunrise of the early morning I stretched and yawned before getting back up from bed.

I went straight to the closet and picked out a black shirt and some slides of the same color matching the fit. I assimilated with the memories from this world so I knew where everything was so I wouldn't be looking like an idiot in front of the family.

After dressing up I walked downstairs where two people were already waiting for me.

To the left was a tall dark skin, elegantly dressed male elf wearing a sleek black suit. He had his black hair tied into a bun and his golden eyes at me with a smile on his face. He was handsome, sinfully so. To the point that the maids were using their gamma so they would not orgasm just out of lustful thoughts alone that would immediately lead them to a pitiful death.

To the right, there was an alluring brown-skinned woman with curly black hair and orange eyes. She was wearing a red dress that tightly clung to her seductive body that would make a pope renounce his vows and fall into lust on sight. She coldly gazed her eyes on me that radiated aloofness and indifference.

These were Duke Emrys Tiji and Duchess Cassandra Skywalker. My father and head of the Tiji Family and his First Wife.

Reaching the bottom of the stairs I raised my head to look into the eyes of my father with indifference but not from aloofness but from confidence and wanting to get this over with.

We stared at each other for a small but tense amount of time. I was almost about to start folding from the pressure of my father's stare but he eventually grunted his approval and walked passed me as he made his way to the back of the estate.

"Good Morning, Zaire. You already know what's going to happen today so there's no need to explain what's going on." He said calmly even though it unconsciously made my knees tense in fear, as he began drawing runes onto the black-colored marble wall, "You know the consequences of what'll happen if you fail me. For your sake don't let me down, son."
