[Choose two elements you want to have an affinity to]
Fire

Earth
Metal
Wind
Lightning

Darkness
Nature
Ice
...
The list of affinities was longer than the list of races I could choose from and I was very tempted to deviate from my initial plan and choose different affinities but I stuck true to my path and selected the two affinities that I specifically selected for my race and archetype around.
[Affinity Selected: Darkness and Wind]
After confirming my choice I looked at the current status of my lifepath sheet.

"All that's left is my background and bloodline huh?" I said and proceeded to go to the bloodline option.
But to my surprise, I was greeted with a message that blew the shit out of me.
[You are unable to select a bloodline at this time]
"The fuck is this?" I growled in anger. This was not the time for me to get shitty messages like this.
It didn't even give me greyed-out options, the message just popped up as soon as I selected bloodline.
Bloodline was one of if not the most important things in Blood of Darkness as based on your bloodline you can rise from the depths of hell and despair to the top of Heaven if you play things smart.
But with me not having one that can only mean one thing: I have to stumble across a bloodline inheritance.
The only problem is that I'm too weak to go through the trials to get the good ones and who's to say that when I'm sent into the world it will be in the middle of the story and they're already taken?
Unlike my age I couldn't just ignore the bloodlines and just worry about them at a later date, they were far too essential to be merely passed on. To make matters worse is that if I can't find a good bloodline before the story begins then I would have to wait until The Tower shows up for me to get a good bloodline.
Not only will that be around 2-3 years later but who's to say that I will even make it to that point? Neo-Oblivion was an extremely dangerous world with a good amount of people hiding their true strength so you had no idea who you were actually stronger than and who was just hiding their strength.
I sighed bitterly, feeling powerless in my current situation despite having the insanely lucky option to choose who I wanted to be in the world of Blood of Darkness before being sent in, "Let's just hope that I'm sent to a point before the story starts so I can acquire a bloodline."
Pushing the matter to the back of my head I turned my attention to the final option of the LifePath profile.
[Please select your Background]
[Your background is essential. It determines how society looks at you and what opportunities you have access to and which ones you don't. But unlike others, you have the opportunity to build your background and upbringing but chose wisely. Each background comes with its own set of advantages and problems that you'll have to face no matter what option you pick]
[Available Backgrounds]
Royal
Noble
High-Class
Middle Class
Trenches
Peasant
...
Reading over all of the options it didn't take me long before I selected High-Class as my background.
It was the best one available. There was a Royal Family in Neo-Oblivion but there was a lot of scheming and internal conflict as the princes and princesses vying for the throne. Bring born into that family would just make me a target, especially with me probably being among the weakest.
So while being a royal would open practically every opportunity possible for me the cons outweighed the pros in my mind.
Noble was below royal and while this option was amazing as well, nobles were constantly scheming against other nobles as well with some of the highest ranking ones being bold enough to plot against the royals.
Yeah, I didn't want to get caught in that Game of Thrones type of situation and it was best for me to stay as far away from the nobles and royals as possible until I gained enough power to deal with them.
Trenches and Peasant didn't even register as options in my mind. Trenches meant I would probably grow up in the hood and have to be a gang member to get money and resources and I would get dragged into petty gang beefs. I didn't have time for shit like that and while I was sure I would get a lot of money and resources, the beefs would take up a good amount of my time.
As for Peasant...yeah I don't think that needs to be explained and why I'm not going for that in any circumstances.
High class was the best option. They were just right, the only real difference that separate the high class from the Nobles was that the nobles simply had more money, assets and in some cases, military might.
Sure there was going to be beef but that was going to be the case no matter what background I picked. All I wanted was a background that would give me access to enough money and resources for me to grow my strength smoothly and consistently.
Middle-Class were just people from the trenches who have sightly more money than people who were actually from there. They were people who didn't have money like that but they weren't dirt poor but a couple of setbacks would leave them like that.
After selecting High-Class to be my background the screen flashed with a bright light and when it cleared I was able to clearly see my nearly complete status screen.
