Chapter 15 - Awaken

The three entered and were welcomed with a soft and cold air that flew throughout the room. "It feels oddly nice in here," William said aloud.

"Yeah, it feels as if the wind is blowing in the room," Valur added.

'It's because of Brance's Will. Lance left some of his life force in it before he died.' Isora commented, although only Salvador could hear her.

Whenever the death of Lance was mentioned, Salvador couldn't help but frown and feel horrible.

It was weird. Beforehand, he didn't care that much. But after discovering he was his biological father despite not even looking, or speaking to him at all, the emotions of sorrow rushed in.

'Don't dwell on it too much, Salvador.' He agreed.

"I'm going to go explore alone." William stood in thought for a second.

He was debating whether he should leave his little brother alone or not. Yet, he soon realized that unlike children his age, he was far less of an annoyance and barely cried. And he was shockingly mature.

"Sigh, sure. But don't do anything stupid, okay?"

Salvador replied with a smile and nod, then strode off in the direction of Brance's Will.

'So, I guess this is a good time to get to know each other more.' Salvador told Isora in his mind.

'Oh? You're interested in girls who are in your soul and are technically robots? Such peculiar tastes Salvador~' She mischievously giggled in his head.

Salvador's face quickly turned into a bright shade of red at her comment. 'Y-You know what I mean! And you're saying stuff like that to a four-year-old, aren't YOU the one with peculiar tastes?' He quickly retorted in spite.

Isora let out another giggle. Salvador quickly realized that whenever Isora chuckled, he also got happier. 'You act as if I don't know you're from another world. And plus, I've seen many of your erotic fantasies~'

Salvador cut her off before she could continue teasing the poor man. 'Whatever! Let's just move on... I want to know about the relationship between you and my father.'

As soon as Salvador finished that question, he could sense a lewd sensation from Isora.

'Well, I did do a few things for him of course~'

Salvador screamed at Isora in his mind. 'WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU!!! Are you really a robot horndog?'

The humourous remark made her laugh, she was caught in a fit of laughter for a minute or two.

Salvador didn't know if he should laugh or cry at her unnecessary horniness.

'Okay, I'll stop. But as I said at the stadium, friends for life. I helped him grow as a fighter, while also being there as a mentor and friend. We never really went out our way to get me a human form, it would've been too troublesome.'

Salvador abruptly cut her off. 'You can go into a human form?'

'Of course. And everything would still be the same. We could still mentally communicate and feel each other's feelings. The only difference would be that I'm in a body and not in you.'

Salvador nodded his head in acknowledgment, going further down the shelf of infamous and famous swords.

Some belonged to mighty Demons, some to legendary figures or Tenth Force Knights.

'These swords are insanely sharp and exude a powerful aura...' Salvador couldn't help but say in shock. Each sword seemed to have a life bound to them, all matching the appearance of the sword.

'After wielding a sword for so long and injecting your mana countless times into it, it forms a life of its own. Although, it can't do anything.' Isora said, helping out Salvador with the questions he didn't directly ask.

Without realizing it, Salvador made his way all the way to Brance's Will. The sword stood on a weird stand that barely obstructed any of the beauty of the sword. It truly flaunted it off.

The hilt was a clean and smooth golden with an unknown language etched into the side of it.

The crossguard, unlike others, were feathered wings that shot out and were surprisingly stiff.

The blade was exceptionally clean and the edges were deathly sharp. The aura it discharged was unlike any of the swords before. Not only did it give off a more dominant and powerful feeling where a dim, but visible white cloud of mana covered it, but it also offered a sense of familiarity.

'This is definitely it.' Isora said as if she was confirming one of her thoughts. 'It could've been a fake?' Salvador naively asked.

Isora sighed in response. 'Yes, anything can be a fake. But luckily this is the real deal.'

Salvador's eyes seemed to comically glow as he googled at the extravagant sword. It was surely the finest-looking sword Salvador has seen on both Earths.

'Hey, cant you like take it or something? It's my father's so it's only right I have it.' Salvador slyly stated with a smirk.

'Yeah, in the future when you awaken. You can not touch it now though.'

Isora's statement piqued his interest. He inched his finger closer toward the sword, and as he expected an urgent feeling of anxiousness surged over him. 'DON'T!' She screamed out in his hand.

The sudden scream startled him and caused him to jump. 'What the hell!'

'Do NOT touch it, Salvador.'

Salvador stood deadpan for a second until a mischievous grin was painted on his face. 'And why not?' He asked.

'Because! If you do you'll be forcibly awakened! Lance left his life force in there so when YOU touch it when you're awakened, it'll heed your call without hesitance. '

Salvador rubbed his chin in thought for a moment before he inched his finger even closer. 'Why can't I do it right now?'

'Because! Your body is too weak! Forget being crippled, you could possibly die! You haven't even assimilated any mana in your core!'

Despite her objections, he inched his finger closer to the sword. 'You did say it was a double-edged sword, right? Well, I plan on getting revenge, Isora.'

And with that, his finger touched the area where the man was primarily focused.

Salvador's POV

I teased Isora as I inched my finger closer to the mighty sword. "You did say it was a double-edged sword, right? Well, I plan on getting revenge, Isora." I determinedly stated, my eyes filled to the brim with determination as the thought of avenging my father filled me with conviction.

Although my lovely companion warned me that I could potentially die, what was the point? If I couldn't survive this, there would be no way I could avenge my father, let alone kill Malo.

My finger finally made contact with the sword, to my surprise it felt oddly nice.

Yet, I couldn't savor this feeling as something I could only describe with the word 'wrath' overloaded me.

As if a demon was lurking in my body and wanted to shake the fabric of my very being, dark and long tendrils of dark mana latched onto my vacant core, digging their vicious claws deeper into it.

"AAAAGHHH!!!" Pain beyond anything in my two lives erupted in my stomach. It felt as if my insides were being inflated as if I was about to burst open.

The mana enveloping the sword unexpectedly increased by many levels, now being so bright it completely blinded my vision.

The tendrils of mana that tore into my mana core finally finished their job, and white essence flew itself into my body and flew into my ripped open core.

My screams intensified on so many levels that nearly everyone in the museum heard me. I could hear the loud footsteps of Valur and the shrills and shrieks of my brother, William behind me.

"SALVADOR!"
