Three days after Salvador's awakening.
***
Salvador stood outside his bedroom door, wearing the same pair of clothes he wore after he woke up; they were washed of course.
The time until noon was gradually dwindling away, inducing more anxiety in Salvador and his family. Anyone would be nervous if they were meeting the brother of someone like Lance Leonard. And not to forget, he was also a Ninth Force Existence.
Nico hurriedly walked out of his room, adjusting the cuffs are his shirt to his liking.
His mother frantically put her hair in a bun to look her best, primarily to deliver a pleasing first impression to the mighty being, Jaxon.
William sat in a wooden rocking chair the hotel provided. He was already in his fancy attire, one leg over the other. He hummed a song with his eyes closed, slowly rocking in the chair as he waited.
Yves, similar to William and Salvador was calmly sitting at the side of his bed, rubbing his hands together in worry.
Although Salvador didn't mind it, he could see everyone shooting him glances from time to time. 'I guess it's good to know they actually care.' He admitted in his head.
He always had a rational fear that if he was ever adopted that his family would secretly despise him for being a hindrance or nuisance. Yet, after actually discovering he was adopted and was still treated with respect and as a son, he couldn't help but be inwardly happy.
'Would adopt be the right word?' Salvador asked Isora as he rubbed his chin. 'I mean, you said you left me on a doorstep, transformed into a small name tag that coincidentally was my name back on Earth then rested in my mana-core to keep it restricted until I was of age.'
Isora was silent, not being able to muster up any words to Salvador's question.
'I-I guess not. You know, you're taking this frighteningly fast and as casually as possible.'
It was true; the speed at which Salvador was adapting to not only his awakening but the discovery of Isora and his system could only be labeled as abnormal to an extreme.
Even Lance, who was known to be cunning and lively, a shocking exhibition of mental fortitude in battles that could even cost him his life, had a hard time accepting such a phenomenon. 'Well, he wasn't reborn as I was, hm?' He could sense Isora's nod. 'And well, after being reborn into a world of magic, I kinda accepted the possibilities of more bizarre things that could occur in my life. A companion bound to my soul that gave me a system might only be one of the thousands to come in my life.' Salvador matter-of-factly remarked. Isora stayed completely silent. What Salvador said was shockingly accurate and very close to the truth.
'Even if angels were to descend from the heavens, otherworldy monsters which the strongest on Earth could only pale in comparison to, it would not sway me from the path I have chosen.
'What is that path, Salvador?'
'...'
'Power.'
The same cold glint in his eyes returned. The day he found out Malo, who was living comfortably in the walls of Locha after killing his father was alive, he swore he would destroy him and the Demon army he belonged to. 'I don't plan on meddling in silly affairs, be the higher-up's little dog because I am the son of Lance Leonard. Once I eradicate the corrupt beings that reside on this Earth, only then I will be able to rest and bear the death of my father, even if I didn't know him.
Before Isora could reply, Eleanor stepped out and looked at Salvador.
"Why do you have that look?" She asked.
Salvador's eyes briefly widened, awakening back to the real world. "Ah, I was just deep in thought." He told her.
Eleanor stared at him for a few more seconds before nodding. "We are leaving, come." She reached out a hand and Salvador took it, walking with his mother outside their house.
As he stepped out the door, his eyes were forced to squint as the sun's radiant beams of light dawned upon his eyes, the first in three days.
They soon hovered still in the sky, birthing light to the city of Locha. 'Ah... How long till I get used to this?'
Isora grew irritated by Salvador's constant complaints to her. 'How long till I get used to you rambling and complaining about everything to me?' She jokingly remarked.
'Well, after meeting someone who knows everything about you, you can't help but talk to them a lot.'
'You aren't wrong I guess.'
The family walked through the crowded streets which were hectic as usual.
The familiar scene gave Salvador a sense of de ja vu. Although this time he was getting shoved around without pause.
Salvador turned his head just in time to catch his first glimpse of the hotel Jaxon told them to meet at.
It stood exactly 26 stories high and had around 20 rooms per floor taking into account the amount of windows that were visible.
Just above the center was a large sign which displayed the words "Orc.", a portion of the owner's last name.
No further confirmation was required as they could effortlessly tell this was the hotel Jaxon talked about.
A steady stream of people was exiting and entering the ginormous hotel, most of which wore clothes that radiated a feeling of nobility and richness. "We seem out of place here," Nico commented as he glimpsed over his shoulder after passing a small group of people consisting of beautiful girls.
"Don't worry about it, we'll be out of here soon enough," Yves reassured him, a stern expression plastered on his face. They walked in an awkward silence that wasn't familiar to them.
After the truth came out about Salvador, conversations were bland and brief, and Salvador and the rest of his family didn't have much interaction with them at all.
He certainly was aware they were just giving him unneeded space.
After a few more seconds of walking, they arrived in front of the door that led inside the hotel.
A large man stood in front, accepting the IDs of civilians who were going to rent a room or already had one and was just returning.
As his eyes landed on the family, his look turned into one of disdain. "What?" He asked.
Yves was shocked at the guard's mannerless welcoming. "I'm here to meet someone." He stated.
"Name?"
"Yves Alor."
The man opened a large binder and flipped over to the pages near the back of the book and quickly skimmed through the contents of the page.
As he slid his finger down the list, his eyes widened once he read the name of the person he was supposed to meet.
Instantly, his entire demeanor and behavior changed.
He promptly stood up and walked around the table. "This way." He said as he extended his arm inside the building.
Walking in, the man quickly walked in front of the family and led them to a separate part of the building. After stepping through an eight-foot metal door, they were greeted by countless elevators which were spaced throughout the walls.
Salvador quickly counted twenty-six of them, equivalent to the number of stories the hotel possessed.
From left to right the rooms were numbered, and the signs also contained information such as the lowest room number through the highest room number.
"Here." The man said with a wave of his hand, signaling to follow his lead.
They came across the last elevator on the right-hand side.
After clicking a few buttons and injecting mana into a small mana circle, the elevator doors opened.
The room inside was spacious. It would be able to fit nearly eight people comfortably without it being packed. The family stepped into the elevator which was practically the same as those on Earth.
After pressing a button, the elevator rumbled followed by the sound of metal grating against the wall around it.
A heavy upward motion was felt and it nearly caused Salvador to stumble due to the suddenness of it.
The man chuckled, "Unfortunately, the elevators are still a work in progress as you can see."
Yves forced a smile and nodded.
The elevator kept on rumbling until they finally reached their desired floor.
The metal doors automatically slid open, revealing a luxurious lobby accompanied by a maid and butler at the end of the halls.
They wore extravagant white suits with a black vest on their torsos, long sleek black pants with neatly kept hair, and an air of professionalism surrounding them.
The man who led them up stayed in the elevator and shooed them on. "This is as far as I can go, enjoy your stay." He said with a steep bow.
The doors closed and the familiar sound of the elevator gradually exited their ears as it left their range.
Immediately, the maid and butler made their way to the family who stood alone in the hall.
The butler was 5'9 (1.79M), with a freshly trimmed beard and a round nose, accompanied by bright green eyes. The man was slightly above average in looks but had a well-built body, slight muscles could be seen from his shirt.
The maid had blonde hair that flowed down to the middle of her maid dress, golden eyes, and an adorable face.
"Hello, what is your business here." He plainly asked.
"We're here to meet Jaxon, we're the Alor family."
The man's expression was still for a second before he nodded and turned around. "Follow."
