Chapter 12 - Huge

The trio joyfully raced towards the ginormous dome surrounded by a plethora of people, ranging from males clad in burly metallic armor to women wearing light leather shoulder pads, offering slight protection while enabling swift and unrestricted movements.

'It's huge! I swear everything in this city is double the size of everything back on Earth!' He wildly exclaimed. Salvador was a fanatic. Seeing such a large building that contained fighting inside, he could watch countless fights without the worry of having to wait!

The height of it was abnormal. It ranged hundreds of meters, nearly crossing into the thousands mark. Calling it the tallest building Salvador has seen in his existence was an understatement. It was roughly three times the size of the Eiffel Tower, even taller than the Burj Khalifa which was the tallest building on Earth.

However, it wouldn't have attained that title for long as a new building was being built to overtake it. Unfortunately, Salvador wouldn't be able to be present at such an accomplishment.

Despite being almost a hundred meters away, the building was so wide it extended out from his peripheral view, with multiple windows evenly spaced out on the exterior.

A long trail of golden wrapped around the middle of the building, bearing a gigantic emblem that was positioned right onto the most visible part of the building.

Three scythes stood on the emblem, each facing different directions. Blood seemed to drip off of them and a pile of bones and dismembered limbs lay around them. 'Cool!'

Nearing the entrance, the density of residents and combatants multiplied. Every step was a challenge to Salvador who was constantly being shoved and pushed around in the rampant crowd.

"N-Nico!" He screamed out.

Nico spun around and picked his little brother up, slinging him over his shoulder.

"There we go!" William playfully called out.

Finally, breaking through from the crowd the three managed to enter the large dome building.

Luckily, the building wasn't as hectic as outside. However, there were still a lot of people occupying it.

Salvador noticed that there were more soldiers than civilians outside. As he was deep in thought, he and his brothers approached a counter where a young adult was sitting.

She had blazing red hair which curled at the ends, neatly kept behind her hair which showed off her attractive facial features along with some neck and collarbone.

Her eyes, like her hair, were fiery red and fixed on Nico's handsome face. Nico began speaking to the woman, Salvador missed this due to the fact he was in a state of stupor as he googled the interior of the building.

He finally snapped out of it as he realized Nico said something, although not to him.

The lady peered over to some papers, quickly shuffling through them, eyes as if she was looking for something in particular. A few seconds later, she pulled out a sheet of paper that was filled with information about Salvador's older brother.

"17th. Go to the waiting room." She plainly stated to Nico.

He replied with a nod and strode over to the large wooden doorway which stood twenty meters away from the desk.

It was a typical, tall wooden door with matte handles with a small magic circle placed above it. 'Mana Key.' Because keys could easily be copied which could lead to numerous problems, Mana keys were invented.

A set group of people could lock and unlock these doors, mostly administrators and staff.

As the door crept open, a sudden surge of must and body odor assaulted Salvador's nose. "W-What's that putrid smell!" He screamed out, pinching his nose shut.

"This is where people go after training or fighting. Unfortunately, not everyone smells the best afterward." William cheekily told him, giggling at Salvador's state of disgust.

He shook his head and walked forward.

He could instantly see countless men and women sitting or standing in the so-called 'room'. To his surprise, the room was nearly the size of two houses combined. The state of the Knight's seemed to put them in different areas of the room.

The ones who appeared to have yet to fight stood in one area of the room, away from the injured and sweaty ones.

While those who were opposite of them stood on the other side. 'I wouldn't want to smell them either...' Salvador remarked in his mind.

Salvador saw Nico pull out a small item from his pocket and smack his chest with it.

After removing his hand from his body, he could see a round pin stuck to his chest displaying the number 17.

Salvador quickly skimmed through the room. Similar to Nico, everyone else also had this same pin on their chests.

Salvador glanced at the small group of people who stood quietly and properly. They were the ones who have yet to fight it seems. Peering at their pins, they were all before Nico from lowest to highest.

"Nico, what is this?" Salvador meekly asked.

"A fighting arena." He stated with a smirk. "I have to keep my skills unrusted for the assessment. So I planned to do some light spars with other Knights." Salvador quickly nodded and agreed with his brother's train of thought.

"Are they all Third Force Knights?"

With his eyes closed, Nico shook his head and explained that there were Second Force and Fourth Force knights, but the majority were Third Force. All forces were assessed in the same week, one day after the other, and Salvador had already guessed the order. Salvador realized that if so many people were here for the Third Force assessment, the highest level of Knights must be beyond his imagination.

The trio were leisurely slumped against the wall, numbers being shouted out resulting in the subtraction of people in the room.

Eventually, a woman's voice blurted out Nico's number which immediately caught their attention.

"I guess it's my turn." He said with a predatorial grin, Salvador could easily sense the eagerness of battle exuding off of his body.

Before Salvador could step forward, Nico stopped him and mouthed for him to stay still which Savlador obediently followed.

The woman and brother spoke for a moment, and eventually, Nico signaled him to come over along with William. "They're the ones who came to watch."

The blonde woman with thin, round glasses peeked over at Salvador and William before smiling. "No worries, follow me." She said.

She stepped over to a different wooden door, a brief and dim illumination of mana shrouded her hand before instantly fading away.

With a click, the door opened and the three stepped through.

They traversed through a long and ominous hall, staying in complete silence.

The hall had large square paintings spaced out, presenting important figures; Or so Salvador supposed.

Finally, the woman opened another door and revealed a large, spacious area.

Instantly, Salvador could hear the shouts of an enormous amount of women and guys, and children from all around.

Salvador paused for a moment before looking at his brother. "Y-You said light spar... This isn't a light spar."

Nico mischievously grinned for a moment before going back to a plain face. "I know."

The sheer amount of people Salvador saw in his vision was nearing six digits. That was in only one direction. 'Just that portion is bigger than most stadiums back on Earth...'

"Come on!"

William led Salvador to a separate enclosed area. This area also took up a big portion of the stadium, however, it seemed it was reserved for more special members.

"What is this area for?" Nico loudly asked, making sure William heard him over all the cheering and yells of the spectators.

"Family members and V.I.P's. Or important people." He quickly responded. "I see!"

As soon as he walked into the area, he could see tens of thousands of lavish and pristine people. Most radiated a sense of royalty and strength, and some normal civilians. "Over here."

A few seconds later, the two sat down in the absence of Nico.

"Where is he?"

"He's preparing, don't worry."

Salvador nodded and looked at the ongoing fight. A lean man dashed forward, maliciously swinging his sword in a vertical arc at a woman's arm.

With a quick and nimble motion, the lady dodged it and connected a knee straight at the midriff of her opponent.

The man was slightly lifted off the ground from the force, a dangerous elbow digging into his back.

"ARRRGH!!!"

The man roared in pain, collapsing to the ground.

The crowd released a loud cheer as the fight concluded, resulting in the woman's win.

"Yoran Vilachor, VICTORIOUS!"
