We crossed by the elevator, which was more of a teleportation gate that led to the higher floors. After paying a small fee to the maintenance operators, we entered the elevator that was protected by people from all over the tower and stepped into the third floor.
As soon as we got out of the building, the regressor hid behind my back and almost fainted over.
In a city not dissimilar to Symphonia, the people clad in armors that couldn't be matched with the ones below walked around with an air of confidence in their every move.
The place where the beginners had been shaved off and only the veterans remained. This was the city on the third floor of the tower, and one with the strongest wizard in all of the tower ruling over.
Hunteralis.
I carried the regressor over with me through the streets. The modernist vibe of the people blended well here with the medieval architecture the tower had settled for. The stone floors below and the wooden houses all around towered for a mere three to four stories but were laid in perfect grids.
After following the signs on the roads exclusively, the regressor and I reached the shopping district in Huteralis.
"Hougre Rabbit! Going for 70 points!"
"Black Viper Shoes! 900 points for a single shoe! You can check the stats yourself!"
"Hey, lady there. Get these earrings, they increase charm stats by a +5!"
Calls of the vendors and hawkers attracted the people walking through the streets. All the stores around in the houses open offered services for veterans of the tower that one couldn't find elsewhere.
As if to fit with this mood, the skies of the third floor were usually clouded and ashy, the tower, with all the dark blue and blackish wood that made the houses, made sure to show its twisted sense of aesthetic.
It was seen as something revolutionary in the novel.
But the people of this world used to see these as the proof of the tower's artificiality.
For me…
It felt even worse.
Even the world outside this tower was not my own.
What a twisted sense of humor it had.
"Hey, do you have enough points?"
The regressor muttered the words under his breath.
Leaving him be, I decided to take a look too. To defeat the boss of the fifth floor, both of us were too weak. With only his regression and my shadow manipulation to go with, we were no better than toddlers running into freight truck.
But I had a plan.
"Open personal window."
The window showing my details appeared in front of me.

The tower was convenient with it's display of one's stats. It held more information of the strength of my criminal guild and the loyalty they held along with my disciples and their value.
The rank… this was information not revealed to the people of the tower yet, but as a transmigrator. I already knew.
It was a total rank that the tower assigned to everyone in the tower over all hundred floors. F- might seem low, but even the top rankers right now were an E- at best.
This rank wasn't to be confused with skill ranks. That's why it was a famous theory amongst the users that Lutein would also be reaching the SSS personal rank on top of his skill rank.
"Um, sir…"
"Call me Ativan."
"U-um… I think I have enough points for now."
"Alright. Go and get yourself some armor," I said. "Make sure it has good camouflage ability and also enhances your defense and agility. As for the weight, don't overdo it. I'd suggest looking for stuff in the store at the very back."
"Alone?"
"Of course."
The regressor almost seemed to be crying, but shook his head and put on his black mask again. It seemed he preferred being alone than with me.
"I'll leave you to it," I said. And moved to the other stores inside the shopping district.
