Chapter 12 - Bosses. Hunts. Preparations (3)

The regressor's purchase took the half of the day that I had promised the blacksmith I would return in. There was no doubt that the regressor was extremely beautiful, to the point that people of all gender would hold him in high regard for his looks alone. The owner of the shop, a master seamstress from the outside world, was rather inspired after seeing him.

The regressor was intimated, and the seamstress was fired up.

And I, was stuck.

In the end, she personally adjusted the best of her products and let the regressor try them on. After showering him with ton of praise, he came to believe that he wouldn't be any good if he didn't have the clothes on him.

At this point, I wondered if he was a coward or was completely gone in the head.

The regressor coughed out a jaw-dropping seven thousand points without batting an eye.

Well, the result of it could be seen quite naturally. Even though he walked next to me while looking like a flower from a fairy tale, no one even turned to face him.

The two of us made our way to the blacksmiths shop.

The ashy skies outside had started to turn dark and a scenic night had began outside. Lamps were being hung near the sigils of the stores and people that were displaying vain wares in the morning had now switched their hands to vainer alcohol and meat.

The hunters of the towers that had just returned after clearing the mobs on the third floor returned to the market either in an attempt to sell their items or to eat something.

I pushed open the door to the blacksmith's store and stepped inside.

"Excuse me," I muttered. When I looked back, the regressor was gone. It seemed he had hidden himself somewhere in the store.

"Oh! You're back."

"Did you manage?"

"I somehow did," the old man took in a whiff of the cigar that never seemed to leave his hands, filling the shop inside with a breeze of smoke.

The variety in each floor of the tower would probably be killed with time. I wondered how much longer it would take to bring internet up to the higher floors as well, though I remembered a tower intranet had already been set up in the near future.

"Here," the old man called after dragging out a small bag from the inside of his workshop. "This is the net."

"Metal, right?"

"Yup, perfect conductor of mana."

I smiled at his words.

"There are only a few ways such large things can be used, you know? It's not a bad trick, but I don't know what you will use it on, and how as well."

"That won't be tough," I said. "Leave it to me."

With that, the shopping was done, and so was the preparation.

Now, it was time to hunt the snake the first thing in the morning.

I grabbed the bag—

"—Ack! Heavy!"
