Chapter 9 - Bosses. Hunts. Preparations

The spot I and the regressor were setting off to was the third floor of the tower.

Each floor of the tower was connected by an elevator that was usually crowded completely. Just like Symphonia on the first floor, similar cities existed in the floors above too and served as safe zones in the tower that had floors as large as countries.

The brightly lit and colorful streets of Symphonia were the same as ever yet again today. I and the regressor quietly made our way to the enormous structure stretching in the center of the town.

This place with spires and long towers stretching to the height of the aritficial skies with its white buildings was the spot where most processes relating to the tower and the higher floors happened. A true neutral safe zone even in the safe zone that was the city of beginnings.

"Hey, who is that man? Isn't he bullying him?"

"Shush! Do you not see!? That is Ativan von Carley! If you don't want your nuts chopped in your sleep then just leave him be."

"Ah, you mean that Ativan? Oh no, is he looking this way?"

I ignored all the voices that talked about me.

It was quite useful since the regressor that I dragged along was currently frothing at the mouth. Just being in public wrecked his psyche.

Eventually, I found myself in front of the stretching squires and the building that made the Elevator of the Tower. People at the entrance naturally moved to the side as I made my way through. Even the ones that had no idea about me and the shady impression that the dark side of the world held.

It seemed that Ativan had a kind of aura that no one else could imitate.

The inside was filled with white marbles and intricate designs.

Very few people used the elevator at the ends of the room and instead went toward the other spots inside. This place was like a modern day airport, and many establishments had settled in here at a premium.

"I wonder if I have a place in here…"

"A place?" The regressor spoke up then. "Do you want something in here, sir?"

"Call me Ativan."

"Eek! I can't! I can't, not first name, no way!"

This wasn't even cowardice, this guy was just a pain in the ass.

"Alright. Suit yourself."

"I-if you want… I can rent you one."

I stopped at those words and turned back.

"What do you mean?"

"I own some real estate…"

In the most expensive place in all of Symphonia?

I didn't think much of it in the novel since this guy's luck had placed him at one of the highest peaks possible, but could it be, he was actually loaded?

"I do some… stocks… sorry…"

"Cryto?"

"Of course not…"

What the heck?
