The fifth floor of the tower.
The boss of the place that had never been defeated was yet to be discovered. Though there existed a boss room, just like the rest of the floors in the tower, it was only the fifth floor that did not have the boss inside it yet.
This was the first and the biggest reason why no one had been able to clear the place yet.
But I knew.
As a reader, I had seen many floors being cleared, and the clearing of the fifth floor was one of the first turning points of the story for Lutein.
The reason no one had found the boss was rather simple.
What they thought was the boss room was simply a big space and the real boss room was the entire floor itself.
They just had to be aware of the time and the place the boss was going to present at. They weren't able to do so, and one of the top rankers had his entire guild flip over due to this negligence.
Well, it couldn't be called negligence. The only reason Lutein was able to tell the time and the place was because of the regressor in the first place.
"Let's go."
I called out to the regressor and he stood up. His pale white hair slightly swayed as he stepped out of his dark room and came toward the door.
"Are you going to move like that? Go and change into something with more protection."
Going out in a turtleneck and a mask? Who would do that?
"I… don't have anything else."
A sigh left me at his words.
Getting rid of the boss on the fifth floor was imperative.
There was but one reason why I was this scared.
The butterfly effect. People in novels that I used to read would usually shrug things away saying that nothing would change from their small actions and would only realize that something had gone wrong when the problem was six feet inside their asses.
I couldn't take the same risk. I didn't know, but any little action could get me screwed.
For now, my plans remained simple. Clear the fifth floor, establish myself and the regressor as people imperative for the survival of everyone in the tower, and then get all of Ativan's business in my hands.
His manpower was simply too great to ignore.
"We'll buy you something," I told the regressor. "Do you have any money."
"T-t-t-t-t-that…"
The regressor started trembling in his boots at the mention of money. He quietly reached into his pocket and threw his wallet at me.
"I am sorry, please don't talk to me!"
"HEY!"
Did this coward think I was mugging him? No, his problem was being talked to at all. Just what was I supposed to do with this guy?
"Pick your wallet. Let's go and kill the boss of the fifth floor, we don't have time for this."
"Can't we just… Kamazon it?"
"You want to Kamazon equipment that could possibly save your life?"
"B-bali express?"
I shook my head and grabbed the back of the regressor's collar before dragging him along.
"W-wait! I don't! I really don't want to talk to shopkeepers! Please!"
"You're also going to be trying on equipment."
"Noooo! Just choke me and kill me again instead!"
I was stuck with the coward regressor.
Clearing the tower was going to be quite the hassle.
