"Oh, that's interesting," I say as I remove my hand from the magical orb.
"Huh? That's not right!" My sister looks surprised. Why? It's not that bad of a class, right?
"Sorry, but the magical orb can't lie about this stuff." The kind receptionist looked very sorry when she said this. But why? Is it bad?
"Usually, the Raijin are magus warriors, specialized in close-quarters combat with magic. Everyone in the family bloodline is a magus warrior. But… You're a Raijin who is an archer magus." My sister is a good source of explanation. More reliable than Wikipedia. In sister, we trust.
But I am the lonely nail in a pile of hay, aren't I? The odd one out seems to be a bad thing. But I believe being original and unique is unique, so I'm up for it. "I guess I'm just special, aren't I?" Special? Indeed I am.
The receptionist hands me my license to adventure before we leave the guild. I never noticed this before, but the inside of this kingdom's wall is beautiful.
As we walked: I admired the kingdom's vivid scenery and ancient buildings. The skies are clear and filled with beauty: Unlike the polluted skies and gloomy cities of my old world.
"So you're an archer, huh?" Sister sounded disappointed, but not to the point where she would dislike me.
"Indeed, I am the magic archer of the Raijin bloodline. Has a good ring to it, doesn't it?" I wonder if I would have to make a bow for myself since I expect only swords back at home.
"Indeed, it had a nice ring. But, since now you are registered to journey, you'll need a party to help aid you in your adventures." We walk through the gates and onto the paved walkways that lead to our house.
"Yes, you're right. Would I have to ask random adventurers to let me join them? Or set up flyers to join my party?" I preferred none because I am mainly a loner who doesn't want to deal with new people.
But then again, I dealt with all these new random people I barely knew. So I guess I can do it.
"You could, but first, you'd need to look the part. All you have are a regular, bland shirt and pants. You'll need something to protect yourself when fighting monsters: As well as intrigue other adventurers to let you join their party or yours. And let us bring up the fact that you don't have experience in magic or archery. Let alone have a bow." Ah crap, she's right. I don't look the part, don't have the equipment to do so, and am dirt broke.
Wait— I can use that—
"Just use whatever Gaia gave you." Thanks, Ms. Obvious here. Azathoth, for being the Goddess of Wisdom, don't you think it's wise to close your trap?
"I barely even talk to you, and you're so mean to me. Ugh. Anyway, I'm sure you'd be a prodigy at magic, especially with me lying around. But you might need some help with the archery. So I recommend hiring a tutor or attending a tutoring party. As for the magic, let us talk tomorrow!" Wow! Legitimate wisdom from the Chuunibyou Goddess of Wisdom! Thank you, I appreciate the help.
"Don't take it for granted; I want to help my sole follower who cheated on me."
Sorry.
"Apology accepted."
"Hey, sis, don't worry about my equipment. I'll cover that, okay?"
"Eh? But aren't you dirt broke? Possibly in debt?" Ouch, sis.
"I have my ways, sister; trust in me, okay?" I give a genuine smile as I halt my walk to bow slightly.
"I wouldn't even trust you to hold my food for me. But just this once, okay?" She sounds so harsh! I can feel arrows pierce my heart and kill me! But at least she can trust me with this one thing.
"We've arrived home now! I can't wait to sleep in." Home, huh? Now that I look at it. The house is an old way to make a house; it looks better than my old house from my other world.
We enter the house to find our parents greeting and handing us food before going to their room.
"Perfect timing! I needed to eat; Im starving!" Agreed sister. I take the plate to my room, looking out the window.
A scene to behold, a beautiful sundown, and the vibrancy and warmth it gives me are utterly magnificent.
I finish my plate and lay down on this comfy bed. Thinking. What should I take from Gaia's Treasure? Do I have to be a definite strength like Excalibur?
"To answer your question, let the amazing and utterly beautiful Goddess Azathoth help you!" I'll let it slide this once, so; how does the equipment work here?
"Well, ancient and mythological weapons work like sentient beings. Some can change into human form or stay as things. But they choose who they are bound to, such as Excalibur. Every class can use any weapon they like if it works in their favor. Perhaps you'd use swords as arrows; who knows?"
Perhaps I will do that. Great suggestion.
Wait, it reminds me of some anime character Lisa liked. But that's cool to know that weapons such as Excalibur can accept their user.
But what about weapons that aren't mythological or ancient?
There's nothing special about those weapons. They are accessible to everyone." Alright, may I pull out some mythological or historic bows?
"Yes, there's a couple; they're Hindus. Do you think you'd pull them? There's a handful of them, so you have good odds."
Well, there's only one way to find out, right?
