"Hey, Polyphor Get up and get that wrenched bow with you. Ite is here to train you." Can I get five more minutes? Where is the snooze button? Oh, wait, that wasn't an alarm.
"Okay! Hey, Vijaya, mind if you get out of bow form?" I ask as I get dressed.
"Huh? Okay! But what for?" Vijaya turns into her human form. The clothes I gave her remained undamaged.
"I figured if we're planning to work with Ite, we should show her you're a mythological artifact. To show I trust her, y'know?" I say as I pick Vijaya up on my back to give her a piggyback ride.
"Ah okay! I understand!" She's as cheerful as ever.
We walk toward the house exit before being greeted by my parents. Curious.
"Uh, Poly, are you perhaps attracted to very young girls? How did I raise you to be this way?" Mother seemed very disappointed. Her words hit me like arrows piercing my heart.
"Son, I'M PROUD OF YO—" Dad gets cut off mid-sentence as he gets sucker punched in the face by Mother.
"N-No, it's not like that at all, I promise! I'm just babysitting her for now, that's all!" I exclaim to my parents as I run out the door.
I have a feeling they still believe I'm a Lolita pervert. Vijaya is oblivious and confused about what that is.
Running out of my house, I met up with Ite and my sister. Wondering what the hell happened.
"O-oh, nothing. Just family problems, you know how that is, ha ha!" Both seem to agree with my statement.
"R-Right… W-Where's your bow? Y-You need it for tr-training…" Oh right, I have to explain to her that my bow is the little girl I'm carrying behind me.
"Ite, this girl I'm carrying is my bow. Vijaya, could you turn into a bow for me?" As I asked this, Vijaya turned into her bow form.
"See, it's a mythological bow from the Hindus." Ite stared at Vijaya in amazement and shock.
"Y-You also have a mythological bow?!?" Wait what?
"Amazing! Y-You have the Vijaya bow!" She really knows her bows, huh? Is she a bow addict? Perhaps she's attracted to bows? But she also said 'also.'
"Do you have one as well?" I asked as she brought out her recurve bow.
I never noticed how her bow had markings and jewelry on it. I thought it was just for show.
"M-Mines is called Kodandam! Kodandam, come out!" Her mystical recurve bow turns human.
I think Kodandam sounds as if it were an absurd Chuunibyo name.
A similar age to Vijaya, but in different attire. White long hair with red highlights. Eyes that resemble fire. And a fire-type dress that resembles hell.
"Ahahaha! It is I! Rama's bow! The magnificent bow of Vishnu's seventh avatar!" Shit. We encountered a young Chuunibyo. I was right!
Like me, Ite, I'm sorry you're subjected to this.
"What's this overwhelming sensation I'm feeling? Like there's another celestial bow near us?" Wait, are other mythological bows able to sense each other?
"Uh, hello there, Kodandam. My bow here is called Vijaya, a celestial bow such as you!" Upon hearing this, she becomes ecstatic, as if she has been waiting for this very moment.
"Another celestial bow such as I?" She says joyfully.
Vijaya turns back into human form to meet Kodandam.
"Wow! Another one like me! Oh? Older sister!" Kodandam spurts out blood upon hearing Vijaya call her old.
"Ahem. Anyway, Vijaya. You're rather young, aren't you? Let me teach you how to become a superstar like me!" Eh? Overpowered bows can be leveled up to grow stronger. This is a messed-up system.
"Say, how about you two practice somewhere else while we practice ourselves?" Suggested by the intelligent sister. This way, we can all learn simultaneously.
We all agreed to my sister's suggestion while Ite brought out spare bows for me to use.
"Psst, Vijaya. Whatever you do, don't inherit her Chuunibyo aura, okay?" Vijaya nods as we wish them luck on their training.
Ite taught me how to properly draw a bow and to experiment sometimes when in battle. The purpose of a chest guard and how important gloves are in archery.
She handed me a chest guard and gloves to ensure my safety in the sport.
Sister places apples away from us; this is our target practice.
Ite accurately shot her targets easily, while I struggled to hit just one of them. My assignment today was to try to hit at least one.
Ite provided me with tips and tricks like a guide to hitting my shots. Sister trains in her magic and combat as we do this.
After an unknown amount of hours, when the sun starts to set, I barely hit the apple.
"I-I did it! I barely did it!" I celebrated cheerfully with my sister, and Ite congratulated me on my success.
"Alrighty man! Just a bit more practice, and you can unlock the accuracy skill!" Wait, that's a skill? Azathoth, what is this skill?
"Archers such as yourselves can unlock the accuracy skill, which must be honed to evolve further." What the hell is better than 100% accuracy?
"I-I have to get g-going now… It's getting l-late now… Come on, Kodandam…" Ite bids us farewell, and so does Kodandam. Kodandam makes it more dramatic in the Chuunibyo style.
Sister, Vijaya, and I bid farewell to Ite and Kodandam as we walk inside our home, tired after training.
"You're going to train every day from now on. Working out, honing your skills, and training. I will teach you close-quarters combat if you'd like. Ite will show you how to use a bow. But we'll both teach you how to use magic!" That won't be necessary, sister, but I'm still up for it.
"Thanks, sister, you're the best!" Sister gets flustered but remains composed. I can see jealousy in Vijaya's eyes.
We see our dinner on the counter as we enter and bring it up to our rooms.
"Goodnight, sis. See you tomorrow morning!" I wave goodnight to my sister as she does the same to me. Vijaya is behind me, tired after spending a day with Chuunibyo Kodandam. I can relate to that.
