Chapter 33 - Zones Boundary

Sho held his breath as he looked at Es'Ever. Es'Ever on the other hand slightly widened his eyes as his alertness was triggered on another level.

He was looking straight at Sho, but he wasn't really looking at Sho.

He blinked before frowning. "What kind of cheap trick is this?" His voice sounded distorted and distant. As Es'Ever moved forward, Sho sighed in relief. He knew his guess was indeed correct.

*I'm really lucky.* Now, he was believing his stats Luck was real.

Es'Ever didn't know what happened. He was still alert as he continuously moved forward. Meanwhile, Sho remained standing still, watching as his enemy crept forward. When they were face to face, Es'Ever raised his sharp knife and slash, Sho immediately raised his arms in front of him to shield himself for possible damage.

Even though his guess was correct, he didn't know the extent of everything. But seconds later, nothing happened. It was like Es'Ever slashed through the air even when they were face to face.

There was flickering in Sho's vision. Es'Ever was flickering just like how everything glitched when the Zones started. Realizing he was right, he sighed out in relief.

*I'm really right! He got ejected out of the Zone! Because we are not in the same place anymore, he can't see me! And neither can he harm me!* He was really glad with the discovery. Every new discovery was a means of survival for him.

He just thought it was weird to have a sudden cut in the energy. It was as if that space didn't exist. It made him realize that maybe, that was the edge of the Zone. Stepping there would be considered Exiting the Forest of Eternity Zone. Meaning, Es'Ever already did the Quest and should be sent back to their own world.

If he would follow the example Gabriel did, he should be sent out towards his destination. He wasn't sure if it would still be Terra Station, but it should be around there.

He was hopeful.

Because if they were sent out in random places after exiting a Zone, then it would be too hard to find people.

In addition, since the Super Phenomena stated that there is a merging of two worlds, maybe, no more landmarks could be used to determine which is where.

"Hah! So, that was it." Es'Ever suddenly said in gritted teeth. He seemed to realized what had happened.

If Sho's guess was right, the System informed Es'Ever that he accomplished the Quest just like how he did receive notification when they cleared Murloc's Zone.

Es'Ever body was slowly disappearing in Sho's view. His flickering intensified and he almost looked like a hologram.

That was still understandable. Although Sho didn't know it, Zones were considered different areas compared to outside, which means that those outside couldn't affect those inside the Zones. And those inside the zones couldn't affect those outside. The only way they could affect each other was if Sho would go out of the zone.

But he didn't think of doing that, he still needed to get back to Alpha and Miya to make sure everyone was alright.

Gasping, Sho traced back where he came from. He ran all the way east to lure Es'Ever away. He didn't know how far he ran, he just ran like his life was on the line–which was actually the truth. After a few meters, he collapsed in the forest, he couldn't even avoid the roots as he stumbled down with his butt and back.

"I'm too tired… I-I need.., *gasp* to get more energy. I also… *gasp* need t-to fix my wounds. I don't h-have anymore potions… e-energy *gasp* inside me. I hope Alpha, Miya or… *gasp* Ross would find me. I know they would… h-have potion ready *gasp* for me. T-there should be some… o-on the med tent.

"Hah. I'm just so lucky. G-good thing on the first day, I… *gasp* used my skill to look for the exit. Although I didn't get the exact location, I saw t-the boundary. It's not really visible in human eyes… *gasp* and it was really hard to decrypt what my skill clue. But coming to the edge of the zone, it felt really familiar. Plus, those blub of energy helped me a lot. They just randomly stopped there. *Gasp* It was as if they were cut off." Sho studied his fight while remaining in the floor. He was talking out loud in hope that someone was nearby and could hear him. He believed in his team to come pick him up once they were done with the other Savior Gang elites.

But minutes later, he realized he was wasting his energy, so he focused on collecting more energy. This time, he didn't close his eyes to gather them. He wanted to practice more on gathering energy via his sight. It was very useful and could be his key to his survival.

*I should teach this to Miya. I'll also tell it to Alpha, but I'm not sure if he already knows it. From what I know, Alpha knows almost everything. He's too mysterious even when he tells us a lot. Some of my questions regarding him haven't been answered yet.*

While Sho was thinking, he was also gathering energy. It felt so much easier compared when he first did it. It might be because of his experience earlier. Now, while being steady, he was seeing the energy much faster. In half an hour, he had enough energy to keep his wounds close and be on another chase and dodging session.

Seeing that no one had found him yet, he slowly got up. He checked himself to make sure he can really be helpful if he goes back. He was actually amazed to see how the terrible wound he got was quicker to heal. He didn't know if it was because of the new technique he used or because of his Rejuvenation skill. Now, the terrible wound turned into a light cut, not deep enough to cause any trouble for walking or fighting. Though, if exerted too much, it could still break open and be dangerous. He didn't mind that because he just wanted to support them if ever they needed him.

After that, he followed the path back. Since he was trying to preserve his energy and still keep his wound closed, he didn't travel too fast. In fifteen minutes, he finally got back to where the massacre Es'Ever caused.

He closed his eyes. The force was enough to calm himself.

Releasing the breath he didn't know he was holding, he tried looking for the other members of their camp. However, he saw no signs of them. He could only hope that they were successful on exiting the Zone or reaching Ross' group. Either of the two would be good.

Subsequently confirming that he couldn't find them, he changed direction towards their camp. In another few minutes, he finally got back to their camp. He was surprised to hear the clashing of weapons. It seems someone was still fighting. Upon realizing this, he got his answer why no one bothered to look for him.

He immediately summoned his Soul Crusher. Whoever was fighting, he would help. He knew he wasn't good with being solo. But being in a group, with his weapon that can paralyze, he could be a deadly help.

However after arriving at the scene, his jaw dropped.

He thought his fight was unbelievably good. But the one he was seeing far exceeded anything.
